New member! Just got scheduled today. Two weeks out for RNY. It looks like this forum needs a dude!
PRINCESSM replied to mike5232's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well as a single gal I agree that we need more men :-P -
None ever. Due to chance of increased acid production and something about the treatment for esoph. cancer being harder after sleeve. And I have increased cancer risk.

I read that about one in 800 with barretts gets cancer -
I really trust the doctor and based on research I know he is right. :-( sooo I guess "it is what it is" ad much as I loathe that statement.

sick of movies representing fat women as stupid!

I just love her! Well we can look at it from another perspective. She wouldve been good at comedy at any weight. So is her character completely related to being big? Some jokes are made sure. But some skinny people perpetually play similar characters. Mr Bean. Adam Sandler. Sandra Bullock. The Saturday night live cast. -
More nervous about tomorrow's endoscopy for GERD and esophagael stricture, than I am about the Sleeve surgery next month. :*(

July 22 for me as well. I am feeling the same way, as if it will never get here. I dont want to keep thinking about the food I wont eat ever again or for a long while. Im down a few pounds ..... gaining and losing the same five or ten over and over. Dont want to keep having " food funerals" lol. I get so excited when I get dressed, because I wonder is this the last time I will wear this before I lose weight? Soo motivating.

Looking for July Sleevers!
PRINCESSM replied to fearnot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nice to meet you all! Im 36, self paying. Have a ten day liquid diet next month.... bought some torani sugar free syrups to make it go easier. Hope it helps. Bmi is 49. I have gained ten pounds a year pretty much every year as an adult. Time for some drastic changes that I havent been able to do on my own. Looking forward to the follow up after surgery, classes and support group. Self paying means no pre surgery hurdles and counseling which is both good and bad. -

Feeling Like My Surgery Is A LIFETIME Away
PRINCESSM replied to mnmlst's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have almost two months to go before surgery... my choice to schedule for july due to a vacation in june. Part of me wishes I had just scheduled it asap. I am encouraged by the increase in energy I have since deciding to do the sleeve. Im not close to "normal" but getting more chores done and being more productive at work. I feel like its a small taste of my life to come after surgery and I love it!!! I want to spend the next month or so practicing how to drink slowly, chew thoroughly, not drink with meals, and try preparing the foods I will need post op. So much to do! -
Yeah not so well here this week at 298

Be careful about not taking the pills properly. In addition to the obvious risk of unintended pregnancy, I suspect my bad habit of forgetting pills and doubling up really screwed up my hormones and then I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism ... Don't know if it contributed but I know it made me feel like crap

Feeling guilty for not being able to stop sodas. I have surgery in less than two months. I can go a day without My Precious and then I have one...then two....maybe three cokes. Im becoming more active so im down a couple pounds but eating crap food too often. Why do I snack while reading especially if im reading about weight loss? Gotta get ahold of my eating habits. My dr office has behavior modification classes but they dont start until after surgery. -
Ive told some people at work that i am having the sleeve... another saw a post on a facebook page I thought was private. While its true that ones medical info is absolutely private and personal... my extra weight has been abundantly obvious for 20 years. Thats way more embarassing to me than the surgery and I will share my success story when I feel its helpful. But in general people are nosy ... I like the "pound by pound" response that is cute
