Surgery date: May 7th; day of surgery weight was 265, now at 207 - highest weight last fall when I began this journey, 300-lbs! Total of 93-lbs so far, best decision of my life.
-
I was off for only 2 weeks; it was enough time, I didn't think the surgery was difficult at all. I had no issues drinking Water, or keeping anything down. I've been so lucky and had no bad effects from the surgery. I had my surgery almost 6 months ago.

I was sleeved on May 7th; my weight on day of surgery was 265 - I'm currently at 230 and I'm very happy with my success so far. I'm feeling so much better and my 'bad' knee no longer hurts! All the weight loss has been without me excersizing at all. I have osteoarthritis and have severe issues with my hip. I've just been given a total hip replacement surgery date of 8.18.14. I'm looking forward to having the surgery, and healing from it so I can begin doing some excersizing to increase my health, stamina and weight loss. Having this surgery has been the best decision I've ever made. Congratulations to all.

Ladies: How much loss 1st week?
JulieRae1958 replied to Comeflywithme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm out one week exactly since surgery. I lost 12 lbs; however, I'm still on a liquid diet so I'm sure that helped, I lost 8 lbs in the week before surgery, so a total of 20 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will taper down as the weeks go on. I'm very excited for this journey to health! -
Hello everyone, I was sleeved a week ago (May 7th). I guess I'm one of the lucky ones (so far). I have no problems with getting my Water, or eating. I am on a full liquid diet for a full 2 weeks after the surgery. The gas wasn't pleasant at all; it took me 5 days before it was all gone, and its been great since then. I've lost 12-lbs in the week since my surgery. I go back to work in another 8 days, after I see the surgeon and get my release back to work. Its obvious from the posts our recoveries are all different; however, we each share the same goal, si I wish everyone the best on our journey to health and a better life. It only gets better from here! Take care, Julie

Officially poat op!
JulieRae1958 replied to DaddyMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on May 7th also. Bad gas pains under ribs the first two days, but have been able to get alot out last night. Still feeling gas pains, but much less severe. I have no trouble sipping Water and no nausea, so I feel extremely fortunate. I lost 8-pounds during my 1-week clear liquid diet prior to the surgery. I weighed myself this morning and am down another 5-lbs! Havin trouble eating regularly; I have absolutely no appetite at this point; I tried a Protein drink and could only drink a few sips. I've also tried cream of wheat made with milk and didn't have any trouble with that, but I forgot to add the Protein powder to it. This is a whole new 'normal', and it will take me a few days to get used to the routine. -
One year sleeved and loving it?

Hello everyone! Your stories are inspiring. I'm currently on day-2 of the 7-day pre-op liquid diet. Even though my surgery is so close, l feel like it won't happen to me. I've been overweight for so very long and have been so miserable. Every story I read is 'me'. At this stage it's difficult to imagine myself a year from now - hopefully over a hundred pounds lighter. I want to feel good again; be active and healthy! Your stories are my motivation; thank you! -
I love the EAS vanilla brand from BJ's Wholesale Club. It comes in a 5-LB bag for $27.00. I too am having surgery on May 7th. Good luck to you.

What is a typical pre-op diet and how long does it last?
JulieRae1958 replied to Sandyryan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 2 of the 7-day liquid diet. Not too bad so far except for a really bad headache last night. I'm having som ehunger pains now and I've already had my protien for the night. I can't stand my protein shake made with water instead of milk, but I'm forcing it. Keep telling myself only x-days to go. I have vanilla protein powder and put in some vanilla flavoring and a small amount of honey...still it's pretty yucky without the milk. My surgery date is May 7th. -
Pre-op rituals to reclaim your power, and to set the tone for success

I can certainly relate! My snail-mail mailbox has been overflowing with catalogues for items I can't fit into...yet. I've been tossing them after perusing the beautifuls fashions I'll be able to wear next spring! -
Where my May 5th Sleevers at? Chime in please! One Week!
JulieRae1958 replied to Comeflywithme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is May 6th. I'm 2-days into the liquid diet and doing okay. Had a terrible headache last night, but none today. Hoping the next 5-days are as easy. It's been a long road, but my surgery is finally just around the corner. I wish everyone good luck with their surgery.
