I had this too, lasted two weeks and it was debilitating. The skin on the outside was numb but the pain inside was the worse I've ever felt. It did not start until a week out. It was nerve damage... nerves repairing themselves is very painful. It just went away last Wednesday. No pain meds helped, nothing... Just had to tough it out and wait for it to pass. And pass it does!

If anyone has had food stuck in their staple line or complications similar from eating things before they should have... I would love to hear from you. I am very interested to hear what it may feel like and/or what the warning signs are. No need to jump down my throat about what I should or shouldn't be doing... just saw someone else's post in regards to this topic and wanted to reach ouf to those who have experienced this.

I also have a desk job and had some unexpected nerve damage during surgery. Did not realize it until I was already back to work two weeks later when the nerves started to heal and were killing me. It was hard to walk/sit/get dressed... basically do anything. I would say 3 weeks and if you can go back sooner, do so. -
4 weeks post-op tomorrow and still having pain

I know this thread is a week or two old... I have the same thing, only to the left of my belly button. There are no incisions there. I have been to the doctor twice with no answers. They told me to wait a month and tough it out. The skin above where the pain is, is numb. I believe it is nerve damage, the nerves are now trying to heal and it is very painful. -
3 Weeks Post Op--burning pain, not incision site.

I am 3 weeks post-op. I was off pain meds four days out. One week post-op I was back on pain meds. I have this terrible burning, tearing pain to the left of my belly button. It has had me in tears off and on, knocks the wind right out of me... two trips to the office--no answers. Just wait a month and tough it out. The skin is numb and the pain underneath. I am thinking it is nerve damage. It really has me depressed! I cannot get dressed, move, sit down, hold my son with out it taking forever and being in some serious pain. Anyone else?!? -
