Is this how its gong to be??? HELP!

I am sure you have heard it all....but you will get it...I am out 10 months now and I was the same...actually I still am the same. I lost 20lbs before and the 2 weeks right after surgery I lost 15 and I had no restriction up until my last fill. I have a 4cc band and I got 4 fills and have 2.25 in my band. I got them every 6 weeks. BUT as far as weight lose, I have only lost 7 pounds in 7 months. Talk about discouraged!!!! I am thinking about asking for another fill in a few weeks. Well see. But listen.....its SLOW....you have to remember that!!! We will not be at our "peak" for a total of 3 years!!!! And you will always have your band its never going away....so you can get a fill when ever you want to!!!!! So good luck and be patient!!!! Its will come!!!!
  5. Don't be alarmed....your port area is going to hurt for like months....I think mine truly hurt for about 3-4 months and I am 8 months out and it still hurts on and off. If I wear tight jeans and sitting in them for a long time, my port area is sore, if I lean in on a table to reach for something and it hits my port area, it kinda hurts alittle...and my port is also tilted a bit, but dont forget, you have a plastic object connected to your muscle wall, that your body dont want there....you'll get used to it after a while. Good luck.
  6. I just bought a VFR 800 2006 left over...bought it in Dec. 07 so havent rode it yet with my Band...was banded in Oct 07...so as you may see i am so itching to get it out and ride it!!!!! But I am a "jap" bike rider....always have been...learned on a GSXR 1000....ex-husband raced bikes....and new husband also rides. Its really what you think is comfortable....try both of them...your feet postions are different and arms....like I said..just depends on what YOU like!!!! Good Luck!!!

Question.....you havent lost 75 pounds since surgery....have you???? Because if you have...I guess I am doing..not so good??? banded on oct. 24th 2007, and just had my 3rd fill today, I have 1.75cc in a 4cc band....hopefully I will have some restriction this time. I have lost 21 pounds, 15 in the frist 2 weeks, only 6 since surgery......why so slow???

    Any Upstater's (central NY)?

Hello..I am from Albany...and we have NO groups to attend to around here...its all for by-pass...if anyone wants to chat that lives near by, email me TONIRAMA6969@AOL.COM
  12. Hello, Yes you are over thinking this whole thing...don't get me wrong..its a huge choice in your life...but..everyone is different. I have no problem at all with any breads or rice or pasta. And you won't have to chew your chicken till its mush...yes, you'll have to chew it more then before. But, before surgery you or I probably never chewed our food at all. We just shoveled it in our mouths. You will just have to be more aware of what your eating and how your eating it. You will be "afraid" of trying things at first...like I havent had pizza or Chinese food since surgery Oct. 24th 2007...I afraid I either will puke it up or it will go down just fine and I won't be able to stop eating it. But to tell you the truth....either way, I dont want to find out. You came to the right site and just keep reseaching it and talking to people about it....you'll figure it out!!!! Good Luck
  13. Holy cow girl..your freakin skinny!!!!! And what a great flat stomach!!!! Did you get you boobs done too???? Did they lift your butt as well, or did you have just a tummy tuck??? Man that looks great!!! I cant wait to get mine done. I am only 3 weeks out and I have 60 pounds left to go, but I have always had a little roll or pouch there. So I want it to be flat!!!!! You just gave me great hope!!!! THANKS
  14. I am not sure where your from or what your dr. requires before surgery, but ours in NY you have to lose at least 10% of your weight before surgery. And the more you lose the smaller your liver will be. And you want you liver to be small so they dont puncture a hole in it when they go inside of your belly. Your liver is huge right now and it lays right over top of your stomach. Which is right where they have to go. Watch the 2 live surgery's on this site, you will see how big your liver is!!! Good luck with the weight loss. It would be most benificial to you too lose the 65 pounds before surgery!!!!

    What about meds?

I was afraid to take my meds too, I am 2 weeks out and I take all mine in the morning with a protein shake. I have a large fish oil pill, and huge calcium pill, and about 4 other med. size ones. And I taped them all to a piece of paper, so my doctor could see them at my 2 week visit, and he said if I can swallow them, they would go through with no problem!!! So good luck!!!
