I know that I am eating about 4 oz of protein each time...My Dr. said as long as I am not getting sick and not going to fast then things are fine. I am a lucky one I came home from the hospital on mushies...then to softs 2 weeks later..I can go to real food now and I am kinda afraid to try new things. I know chicken and fish work for me right now. What to do...I keep to what I was told one protien and fruit or veggie with every meal. I figure if I can loose at least two pounds each week without a fill I should do very good with my fill....hopefully soon!!!

Hello...banded June 13th and I still have a little restriction. (It could be my mind though.) I am going to my first fill in about 2 weeks. I am down @ 33 pounds since the first of June. I am very excited... I eat eggs, egg salad, grilled fish, chicken, tune, cottage cheese, grits, fresh fruits, green Beans. I have been able to add alot in, my thing is I still measure all my food and only eat what I have on my plate....I just have to keep to that. Support!! Support!! Support!! It really helps. Way to go June Bandsters!!!!

June 13th here and no fill...saw the Dr today and we are going to schedule one in @ two weeks. I can't wait...I am feeling full just not like I was before. I still measure my food and eat off a saucer so I don't over eat. The hardest thing for me is not to drink while I am eating and waiting again to drink..ugh!!! Hopefully it will come with time. :-) Can't wait to hear how your fills go!!!! Good Luck.

I wish you luck...I agree with Alexandra that your Doctor nor your insurance company can tell you what is right for you. I have recently heard that more insurance companies are covering the band because they are tired of all the appeals...so if the band is what YOU want fight for it. My doctor told me that this was a starting point if I wasn't happy with it he could do whatever else he could do, but he told my DH and I that it was my choice and he would help fight the insurance if we had to. We didn't have to thank goodness. Good Luck on whatever YOU decide to do for you!!! -

Hey Ladies...it was alot of fun...I can't wait to meet up again. I will let everyone know what Dr. V says about the monthly meetings at his office or even if we could meet there every other month. Angie that is great on your weight loss...I can tell it's time for a fill for me. (Hopefully in a about 2 more weeks and hopefully it will not be as full as Kathy's.) Kathy good luck on that fill...I know to make sure not to go with 2cc for the first fill...See I am learning. Where do you get your fills at? Here in Charlotte? Your son wasn't bad...just 2!! That wasn't my normal child with me friday..he was taken over by someone nice and sweet. haha Melissa...keep up posted on your test and where you stand. I know you go to see Dr. V this week...I want to hear how it goes. We should start a new thread for our next meeting....in case others want to join and they might not read all the way through this one. Thoughts? It was a blast...can't wait til the next one. :-) -

Welcome...you will get alot of great support here. -
Good Luck on finding a Dr...I don't personally know any in Winston. I am no pro at the band, just being banded a month ago...but it's what was right for me. I felt safe going with the band. I love my band as I have already lost close to 30 pounds and I have realstic goal. It's not drastic..and completely removable if something is wrong. Plus I still feel I can have children when I feel comfortable with it. :-) Again good luck!!!!

There is a chick fila outside the mall....but sorry not one in. Good Luck Kathy...I will probably just hitting that stage the next time we meet. I will be 4 weeks post op on Monday 7/11 and Dr V says the first fill will be 6 - 8 weeks. I am still loosing but I noticed that the small amounts don't fill me up much. I am just trying to stay focused on loosing some weight. I am very excited about tomorrow...here is a link of the food places in the mall. http://www.concordmills.com/static/node380.jsp -

I know Cammie will not be able to make it. She said next month if we do it one night or on the weekend. Below is what they have listed for food...maybe we should get something in the food court before heading to jeepers. I know once I get Curtis in there he isn't going to want to leave. While the menu will vary slightly from one location to another, the quality and value of our food remains consistently high. Fresh, baked-to-order pizza Hotdogs and French Fries Nachos and other yummy appetizers Snacks such as Popcorn, Cotton Candy and pretzels Soft drinks, Juices, Milk…and coffee (for the Grown Ups) Angie...look at you bringing your boost. That is great. I too am still afaird of trying things that I haven't had at home. How did you Dr's appt go today? -

I am excited....I can't wait to meet everyone. Way to go Angie, that is great...keep up the great work!!!! I go back to the doctor on monday and I am wanting to loose @ least 5 pounds from 2 weeks ago. I hate going in the afternoon because I weigh more :-( Oh well just all the more reason to work harder to get it off. Let me know when and where....I will be there. :-) -
As a newbie you have really made me think. I thought I was doing good at least I feel I am still loosing each week. So it just makes me think now more the ever. The food journal is helping me I just need to stick to it and be honest with everything I put in my mouth. Thanks for making me think...I know it will help me in the long haul. I hope to be up with you at the 60 - 70 pound weight lost. :-) You inspire so many.

Hey Angie...I chopped chicken in my magic bullet with a little bit of FF Mayo. Cottage Cheese, Unsweetened applesause, egg salad, I was able to get down some very soft mushed green beans, yogurt, tuna in the MB again with a small amount of Mayo, grits, fresh cantaloupe, honey dew, watermelon... I guess I have been very lucky. I haven't had much of any problems. I have been able to go to normal food more and more each day...Hang in there...and Good Luck. It is all worth it.
