Option 3 is fine...just tell where and when. Dianne I wasn't sure if you read the first of this thread or not but Dr. V said he would be willing to start up the support group again for lap-band patients. It's completely free and when I talked to Bobbi his nurse she was excited about it also. I can get something going sooner if you would like she and Angela were going to do a mailing tihs fall. I can call Angela and see if see can do it in Aug for a Sept meeting. It would run by her or Bobbi..which means they could bring in guest speakers and the knowledge of the surgery itself. Let me know what you think and I can get that ball rolling.... Melissa, my boss said she is going to check on sizes for you but she was 99.9% sure they had those sizes. I get Curtis name brand stuff that is like brand new for 1.00 to whole outfits that are 4.00 - 5.00. In my opion it's one of the best ones out there. Now back to ours...so it's Aug 27th, Ruby Tuesdays @ 11:00 or 11:30? So where is this place....I know what everyone looks like and I WILL BE THERE... I am so excited. Who that is a whole month away. Can we manage. hehe. -

Ok I like option 2 because I already have drive all the way to sunset but that is my choice SO if option 1 is it then I am fine with that also. It doesn't matter where we go as long as we are seating, talking, no kids and just plain having fun. I wonder if the Cammie that emaild you is the same Cammie I know. I talk to her every day and she told me about this site. So now I am not sure if it's the same person or not. My Kami actually spells her name with a K but maybe she used a C..who knows anyway I told the Kami I know about the meeting. As of right now she thinks she will be there. Wow that would be 5 of us...yeah. I haven't told her where we a planning on meeting so I am not sure how far she is wanting to go because she is I think about 15 - 20 miles above me. I will let her deceide. She went to Dr. V's office for the support group there, so maybe she will join us. Oh desicions...what to do what to do.... hehe. -

Ok the the 27th it is....Are you sure you don't mind waiting until 11:00 for me. You can do this one without me if you want. Really it would be ok. I will be at 77 and Sunset so just let me know where and when...I may need directions. Not real good with that area of town. Melissa - the consignment sale has all sizes...I am just getting to the 2t - 4t side. They will have halloween costumes at this one. I want to say I have seen sizes there @ 12;s or so. I will find out and let you know. Wow we finally have a date...I will let Cammie know today when it's scheduled. Now we just have to come up with a WHERE...Oh no another decision. :-) -
Good Luck...Welcome to the LTB. It's wonderful here.

Hang in there Melissa..your time is coming. I have so much more weight to loss then any of you so I see I really should have started with Kathy. :-) By the time you are banded maybe I will be in reach of getting close to you or Angie well not really but I can pretend). (Kathy is to far gone for me to catch her. haha) At least you are thinking by starting weight watchers. I always fell off that one. The band I think someone is always watching me. hehe..it the eyes inside. Angie you sound like you are doing great....wow they really tell you what to add and how to follow a diet...mine was just ideas and see if I could tolerate it. I have done really good with everything but the shrimp..I just couldn't get it chewed enough. (made me sick). I need to try again before my fill so I will know if I can have it. I am really hoping this fill makes me eat less. I have noticed I am eating alot more... Well have a good night...TTYL!!! Dianne are you there???? -
Wow...I am fairly new with this and my Drs says no fill for 6 - 8 weeks post op. I will say I had the same problems running to the bathroom after EVERYTHING I put in my mouth. My sister who is an RN said it was because of the anti-botics they had me on the in hospital. It did take about a week and half before that got better. I couldn't leave the house the first week. Hang in there it will get better!!! Don't give up yet.

Well it wasn't as bad as I thought...I lost 4 pounds last week. So those 2 bites of cake didn't hurt me much...I am SOOOO close to 40 pounds lost. YEAH!!! I am wearing a shirt today that I haven't worn in years. It was one of my favorites so I didn't want to let it go...it's a little baggy now... Kathy they are going to schedule my first fill this week or next so I might be coming to you for advice. :-) Way to go on the weight loss!!! Alright ladies lets set a date...well once we hear from Dianne...I am so ready to have a girls morning out. -

Hey Ladies...I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing? Is Dianne back? I feel like I did really bad this weekend...the scale will tell me tomorrow no sense in beating myself up. Angie how are you doing? Are mushies good? Melissa...any trips? When do you go for your test? Kathy..haven't heard from you..just seeing how the weeks are going. Take Care and TTYL Kim :-) -
Hey Glenda and Welcome. I wish you luck with trying to get your insurance to approve. I hear more and more a actually approving them now.
-
My O My...I know what you are talking about. I personally can't tell except in my clothes. Everything is baggy. My mom, sister and DH tell them can tell..I had one person asked me I had lost weight. I just think becasue I am so big no-one wants to ask me...One day I tell myself even I will notice. I was at a baby shower for my sister today around family I hadn't seen for months and not ONE person said anything to me NOT EVEN ONE!!! Oh well what do you do...keep going. :-) Hang in there.
-
Thanks...it actually hasn't been as hard as I thought. Although today not having a fill and hosting a baby shower was hard...stuck to sliced turkey and fruit. Of course I had a small peice of cake...I will just do better tomorrow. :-) Again good luck on your journey. Hope it's all and more then you plan on it being.

Some Days are HARDER than others
gordonfamily3 replied to j_war06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jodie, I too was very overweight in high school. Where you had a boyfriend, I had alot friends that were boys. My girl friends were great, they never made me feel different. I did miss alot of Jr/ Sr events because of my weight...no prom, no socials. But I have now been married for 6 years and have a wonderful 2 year old. Your Mr Right is out there so don't rush your life. It will work out. My husband married a large women and is now very supportive of my efforts. So hold your head high and be proud of who you are...a good positive attitude will take you a long way. Good Luck on your journey...stay on top of your insurance co there is no reason they shouldn't approve this. Don't worry about when you get the band just know that it's coming one day. Please keep us posted on how things are going. I know most of us older now but I know for me I was in your shoes once. I admire you for getting this done now you have some much of your life ahead of you. Stay Strong!!!! -
Hello and Welcome!! I am not a trucker..but I do have some in the family. Although they aren't banded. :-) Welcome hope you get all the answers you need here!!

Congrats...that is awsome. I can't wait to say the samething... Keep up the good work. -
I still have a couple of protein smooties a week for breakfast. They are good and really feel me up. My dietician said I should be getting around 70-80 grams of protein a day.
-
Thanks...Don't be fooled..I had a hard time in the begining with BM's. I had them like every 5 mins. So not being able to eat and have the BM's like they were really helped. That has stopped and I am trying to loose 2 pounds a week...So far so good..Should get the call this week or next to schedule to first fill. I am so ready!!!! Everyone is doing awsome!!

Waxhaw is out towards Monroe (Union County). There is an IHOP in the university. I don't know of others. We could Bob Evans or Cracker Barrell..just some thoughts. Cammie is in Mt Pleasant - which is out past Concord, but I am sure she will join us. We migth even ride together. I will tell her tomorrow on the van, I know she will be excited. There was a lady from obesityhelp that emailed me, I emailed her back and told her to check us out. I hope she does...she is also a Dr. V patient and is about the same stage as Melissa. I think our group could be growing...YEAH!!! We are all going to do so well.... Yes Melissa that does sound better...you would have been stuffed fixing it the old way. :-) Angie...glad to hear you are feeling better...Not much longer on liquids. Are you counting down the days? :-) I know I would... Kathy did you get a partial unfill? Are you feeling better? Ya'll have a good night...will chat later!!!
