At least they found the problem. You will do great, and 22 pounds is great also. I have a friend that the same thing happened to, and she had to have it redone also. So I don't think it was your doctor I think some of them could just be defective. Good Luck now that you are fixed, I know you can't wait for the that next 22 to be gone.

I just saw a friend I hadn't seen since Feb. Now my family knows I have the band but friends don't. I just don't see the need in telling everyone. Anyway I saw her tonight and she said "boy you have lost something." I said yes about 40 somethings. I was so happy some one finally noticed. YEAH!!! That just made my day. My family is great they have told me all they could tell, I just thought yeah right....I could tell anything except my clothes are falling off me. Anyway I just so excited I had to share. I am really going to have to buy a few pecies of clothing now, at least for work. I can't wait to see what size I will get into.

Alrirght I did it..finally went and bought a few new tops...I was a 26/28 fitting pretty tight and I am in a 22/24 (and it's not tight) in just over 7 weeks. That was a great feeling for me today. I am also finally scheduled for my first fill on Tuesday...I am so ready for it. I am on the tall side they didn't have any pants long enough for me,(found a plus size consighment store here) I will keep looking because I want to see what size those are. Hope everyone has a great weekend mine has started out very well.

I am hitting the same thing this week. It's driving me crazy. I am not doing anything differnet then the last 6 weeks so I don't know what is going on. I do go for my first fill next tuesday so hopefully that will help kick start me again. Good Luck!! I know it's frustrating.. -
Well here is I was told.... 1)No Protein drinks don't shrink your liver they keep you full so you don't eat. It's the weight loss that shrinks your liver. 2) I was able to eat.. I was told 800 - 900 calories a day and 70 - 80 grams of protein. I would do the drinks durning the day and then at night have like a pouch of tuna or a pc of baked fish. (I got sick just thinking about all those Protein shakes so I called dietcian and that is what she told me.) 3) High fat food is bad because you want loss wieght. Your liver is very fatty and that is why it's easy to shrink if you a lowfat low cal diet. 4)Don't know this one...sorry 5)I don't think there is a need to puree your food during this time. I would call you dietcian and see what they say. Every Dr is so different there are several doctors who don't even require the pre-op diet. Mine was one. I think it also helped get me mentally ready for the band also. Good Luck...you will make it no matter how you get through it.

Oh I wish I had that problem...I am just like Kellie, wide open with no problems of anything going down. -
We (the family) joined the Y last year thinking we would use it...wrong. Well until about 2 weeks ago. I have been taking a Cardio Deep water class, twice a week. So far that is as much as I do. It's not alot but it's something. I need to add at least one more class in a week and I feel better about it. The thread might not be a bad idea...it will get us all thinking.

Keep you the good work and if you need some time off take it, everyone is different. You have some far I would let your goal out of sight though. -

Very Dissappointed - What am I doing wrong?
gordonfamily3 replied to lovebugg1026's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The thing that is helping me the most is keeping track of ALL food that goes into my mouth. I write down everything, keeping track of the calories is the best thing for me. There were days that I thought I was under my 1200 calories and when I keyed it in oops...I was over. So for me I have learned journal everything. The other rule I follow for every meal is protein first and then A fruit or a veggie with every meal. I am not saying I haven't snacked on those 100 calorie cookies or something like that, because I have I just account for them. I hope this helps...I will say I am eating more now but I am still waiting for my first fill..and I have noticed that my weight loss has slowed down a great deal. Good Luck...I know it's hard..but my goal is to see where I am in a year. These are just the things that are helping me. -
Thanks everyone...it is a great feeling. I really didn't think anyone would notice for awhile....glad I was wrong.
-
I had 2 pounds this week...that puts me 1 pound over my goal of 15 so anything now is just a plus....Hope to get my 1rst fill this week...
-
For an afternoon snack, the thin sliced deli meat is about 5 - 6 pcs for @ 50 calories and good amount of protien. I like the smoked turkey the best.
-
Mine is the same wouldn't hear of a fill until 6 - 8 weeks post op. I am 7 weeks post op today and still no fill. I am hoping for this week or no longer then next. I think everyone is so different. I really try to focus on protien first with every meal even Snacks. I find the more protien I have the less hungery I am. I am still loosing weight although it has slowed down alot, because I am eating more with no restriction. Keep trying, go back and talk to your dietician, keep a food journal and add up those calories you might be surprised how many you could still be eating. I know I was when I was still eating mushies. Hang in there....You are doing great!!!!

Welcome...I am very close to you...I was 318 when started and I to have the PCOS. Only been married 6 years and we have 1 child, (2 year old boy.) I know I was very lucky to have him. I was banded in June and I hope next year to have another on our own with no help. That is my goal anyway. Best of luck to you in your new life and I am sure all things will work out great for you and your DH. -
