  1. I think you handled it perfect! My sister had the sleeve in November of 2012 and has only had a weight loss of about 50 lbs which was all in the first couple of months. My date is scheduled for June 18th to have it done and she keeps discouraging me and says stupid things like just get to a gym. I think people like this are just jealous, she doesn't want me to sucessed and be thinner than her, but I think that just motivates me more. She failed because she still eats the same crap that got her fat in the first place and doesn't exercise..of course you're gonna fail if you don't change your lifestyle

    Sleeve streching

I have been told that there isn't enough studies to show if it can be stretched or not..im sure it can just like are stomachs before surgery..we stretched them to this fat size. Its all about staying on track and changing your eating habits...after all it's only a tool

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

JacobsMommy, did you ever hear anything?? I just got the call from my surgeons office that I have been APPROVED and I have a surgery date of June 18th so I guess those fools at cigna lied to me about it being denied again after peer to peer. If you get denied I would ask for a peer to peer! Best of luck to all still fighting and waiting for their surgeries to get approved..continued prayers!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

I was denied back in January after my first 3 months of diet classes because they didn't want to use those classes, they wanted it to be more medical supervised so Ive spent the last 3 months in a specialized diet class that is just for people doing the diet for wls. The only reason i have kept being denied was because they said i didn't have this paperwork or that paperwork, which has been faxed to them so many times.. Im praying it's something so stupid and little that is easily fixed but i think its a stalling process because how can not you get all the paperwork when it's been faxed to you millions of time. I don't know why denied this time because they wouldn't tell me, said i have to wait for a letter from them in the mail!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

They couldn't tell me why! Like always wait for a letter to tell you why! I did email my surgeons lady at the office and told her what I had done by calling them and she called me just a little bit ago and said she called them as well. She said they told her it was denied too, she just couldn't believe that it would be. She's hoping that they are looking at the first denial from back in Jan. but I told her they told me they saw it was reopened April 30th and still denied! She is hoping that because it went straight to medical director that it just not showing in the system. The medical director has until Tuesday to get a answer(that will be his 1 week) if they could a week like us "normal" people..lol. So now I wait for a freakin piece of paper in the mail and if denied we Appeal!! I will not give up but doesn't mean that its not frusterating as hell!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

And of course my impatience got the best of me... I emailed my surgeons girl that handles the insurance part and she emailed me back fairly quickly that unforturantly she hasn't heard anything yet. She did say she would try to call Cigna and see if she could get an answer but my guess is probably not because it is Friday. Darn it!!! I should call Cigna but who do I call??

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

OMG my husband tells me I am the most impatient person in the whole world...I want to call too but I have no idea who to call. I have never called Cigna. Maybe ill email the girl who summited the claim. It is going to be a long weekend awaiting! I guess I should try to keep busy and keep my mind occupied...so much easier said than done. Good luck praying you have your answer first thing Monday!!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

Its only day 2 since my peer to peer and Medical Director at insurance said he would give me an answer within a week. Probably take the whole week and not count weekends...grr... I have had to resubmit so many times do to them saying they didn't get this paperwork or that paperwork...I think it's just a stall on the insurance part.

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

Im still waiting as well...my anxiety is through the roof! Hi have you heard from insurance yet? I called surgeon yesterday and no response so I just think I will call Gain. Not sure if they fully understand our anxiety!! Just throw me a bone!! Lol
  11. I know right, lol. I hope that you get approved the first go and that you don't have any hoops to jump through...This has been one of the most stressful experiences in my life but hopefully in the end it will all be worth it!
  12. I have Cigna insurance and a peer to peer is when the Medical Director for the insurance company has a phone interview with the surgeon to get all fact and info to review...I guess it's a good thing because they can't come back and say missing paperwork because Dr gave them everything.

Ive always heard back from Cigna within a week...both all 3 times denied! I've read a lot of post that they are super picky and nobody at Cigna could ever give me clear answers when questioned. Good luck to you and I hope my peer to peer meeting with finally get my approval!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

I got denied from cigna back in January because my 3 months of diet wasn't up to their standards so I went to an actual Diet doctor that works with biartric patients and insurance..finished my 3 months with them and resummitted to cigna last week. Just got a call from Dr that Cigna wants to set up a peer to peer because of denial in January. Im so scared I will be denied AGAIN!! I have completed everything Cigna requires except they weren't happy last time with the diet classes. How long after peer to peer where you approved? Did it take long time to schedule peer to peer? Ive been at this for 6 months and am so ready to start my weight loss journey!
