  2. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary JennR!

  3. Terri If you haven't lost any weight at all, call and make an appt with him and talk about your concerns. About 3 months ago I thought I was doing badly. I read posts on here that from people that got banded the same time I did and had lost alot more weight. I told him my concerns and he pointed out that I was loosing 5 1/2 pounds a month. I do feel some days that I am going nowhere but I've lost almost 50 pounds. I've gone from a size 26-22 almost a 20. That's better than nothing. Over the last few days I started making sure I took smaller bites and chewed the heck out of my food and I havn't pb or vomited in 2 days. Hang in there and ask questions.
  4. I normally eat breakfast around 5am and then lunch around 11:30 and then dinner about 8. I know these times might be a little unusual but I work 12 hour days usualy and work about 45 min from home. As far as the soup goes I don't have any problems with it, but try not to eat it to much as my doctor does not recomend it.
  5. Maybe I should clarify a few things. I used pizza as an example because most slices are cut the same. I don't weigh my food so the oz are a guess. I maybe eat pizza once a month. The crust kills me, I normally eat just the toppings. A typical day for me is Breakfast: (PLEASE NOT I DO NOT DRINK WITH MEAL ABOUT 1 HR APART) 1cup 2% milk and 2 oz cheese normaly colby jack or milk and 2oz Peanut Butter. Lunch: 1 bowl soup or 2 pieces of sushi or 2-3 small bonless chicken pieces Dinner: 1/2 crabcake or 3-4 beefy nachos, or 2-4 oz venison This amount does not make me pb, it's if I eat over this amount in under an hour.
  6. So here it goes. I want to show the whole picture. so please be patient and read whole story. I had my band put in in aug 07. I have been able to eat pretty much anything until my latest fill about 8 weeks ago. After the fill I could eat approx 4-6 oz or 1-2 slices of pizza. However it seems that as the weeks go by I am becoming more restricted. No I can get down2-4 oz or 1/2 to 1 slice of pizza. I have been pbing alot lately ( I think) I get the pain, slime, it doesn't naturly come up so I sometimes will have to force it up. However, I only get 30 min for lunch and this seems to be when I have a problem. for dinner, if I take 1-1 1//2 hours I do fine. I can also get 4-6 oz down. So my question is am I just right and just eating to fast, or am I to tight? Since I've been eating like I was before the band, I don't know if how much I'm eating is what I'm supposed to be or not enough. I hope this make sense and gives a whole picture. Thanks for the help

  8. I know it might seem difficult but, I have two small children (4,2) and could not find a dr. within an hour of where I live. So I started looking for one in my state that I could be comfortable with. I can tell you from prev. experience you need to be totally at peace with your choice in a Dr. About two years ago I had a breast reduction and had the Dr. my insurance recomended. I wasn't comfortable but there was only one other in the town I live in. Well now I can't even stand to look in the mirror, and you can forget about my hubby seeing them. When I asked why I was disfigured he said, " You had a reduction for medical reasons (my back) correct. Do you still have those problems? ( I said no). Then I did what I was supposed to do. The insurance company only paid to have the medical problems taken care of." Since then I am more careful with who I choose and you should be also. I traveled 3 hours to have the band done, but I am fully confident in my Dr. Yes it takes alot of time (the travel) but it's my body and health and I want to take care of it. Hope this helps. Find a doc that you know will take you and your feelings and support them.
  9. I am going to the edit signature. In the box i typed the date banded and the dr. Then in the next section is has two sapceds for you to puteither a web address or a picture from you computer. I entered the address that the ticker gave. Then I hit save. When I enter a reply it doesn't show up. Thanks.
  10. I'm trying to get my weight ticker to show up and a signature with the date banded and the doctor. I don't know why it's not saving? Can anyone help me? Thanks Jenn

    Chickened out- Am I crazy??

I was more scared of the surgury than the complications. I think I watch to many Discovery Health shows. I was crying uncontrolably and they had to give me something to calm me down. I'm so glad I went through with it. I know how scary it is to have someone that depends on you. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, and I don't want them to grow up without me. However, they might have to if I didn't get this weight thing under control. I also don't want them growing up without a mom to do fun things with. My son wants to go to Disneyworld. I can't fit in the rides. Try explaining that to a 4 year old.
