Trouble swallowing....please help
KittyKatt replied to Ms. Reid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm taking Pantoprazole for my reflux and my doctor told me to stay away from acidic foods try to sleep with a wedge pillow. Sleeping a little elevated will help a lot with that and hopefully by my third month or so I will not need any meds for my gerds ????she did say that your acid levels will increase due to your pouch decreasing in size. -
My dr/dietitian told me that I would experience that as well just for the first couple of months and that the best thing to help me post op to sleep is buying a wedge pillow. She said to stay away from anything acidic and to just try to sleep a little elevated and not to eat too late and that my acid reflux may be worse because of my pouch decreasing in size. oh and also that I may experience a little bit if the tired feeling due to the anesthesia just for the first few weeks. Maybe that and hormonal changes?

I'm sort of confused. I've been reading from a lot of people that they are still able to take NSAIDs after the Sleeve. My Dr/DieTiCiaN told me to avoid those meds. I've been waiting for this wls for almost 1 1/2 Year now. Just waiting on my cpap. Should get my hands on it by the end of next week and I'll get my date the same day. ???? I hope my pcos doesn't give me any issues.

December Surgery Thread - we rock!
KittyKatt replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Djmohr wow look at that..I even have restrictions without the wls. Not being able to enjoy those mouthwatering dishes. I take one bite of a turkey & avacado from togos and it kills me all day with my acid levels. Guesa it contains oil vinegar and lemon with the avacados. Guess having the ryn will be much easier and better. -

@@Djmohr omg thats great! Is it normal that im as excited for u? Lol im so looking forward to doing this. Others comments about major hairloss and dehydration along with dumping kind of gets to me often but I know in the long run it will pay off. Did u experience any dumping? Oh and those stuffed peppers sounds so good right about now..sadly I cant have that because of my gerds =( -

@Djmohr...thank u so much for responding. Im glad to hear that it has worked out for u. I hope I feel the same in the end. I originally had my heart set on the sleeve but with all of my joint and back pain and especially gerds and after some more reading, it turns out that RYN is a much better option for me. Those supplements are not that bad. I was under the impression that I'd have to take more than that daily. Well thats great to know. =) how long have you been post op? -

Hey there its so nice to see new posts. I was expecting for my surgery this month but I was pushed back due to iron & vitamin d deficiency. Anyway ive my Mandetory appmnts next month with dietician, psych evaluation and my surgeon appmnt on the 30th of jan. Ive researching for almost two years. I feel very much prepared at this point. Can anyone tell me with RNY, what are the mandetory supplements you must always take? Im so proud of all u guys im taking this huge step in life. Oh and Happy Holidays Everyone! -

Oh may god rest her soul in peace. That was my worst fear as well. But this website really boosted me up. You will hear so many success stories. You dont know the actual detailed story of her death. She must of had other health issues prior to her surgery or not followed instructions correctly. And there are many people here who will talk about the sleeve surgery done in Mexico and has gone wrong and advise u not to go to certain doctors there. You have to put ur faith into ur lord and pray for the best. You must be ur own doctor and really know and understand ur body and please do a lot of research before choosing ur doctor. In my opinion don't always settle for the cheapest. When people make comments of that sort to me and scare me...I think of it like this "id rather die from Trying then to die from obesity the harder way" Browse around this website and u will find lots of groups that will discuss surgeries in mexico. You can't just base ur decision off of one person. If ur not ready...just push back ur date and REALLY think this through until ur anxious to do it. Dont do it with fear, do it with a smile and because u WANT to do it. I thought this through for atleast 8 months before I decided that I want to do this. Just waiting on my insurance to transfer on June 1st and have my first appointment on june 3rd. By the way I have ITP, PCOS, Endometriosis, and Asthma. ive heard thousands of people that has become so much healthier after the sleeve and no more of the severe health issues. Just relax, take a deep breath, and take it one day at a time in making ur decision. Dont rush urself. You should look forward to ur surgery and prepare urself.

You will do fine and u WILL get that very special moment of the "positive" once u try. Just know that we are all in this together. Good luck with ur liquid diet. Keep me updated. =)

Havent been on here since my appmnt that was scheduled on May 1st. I came home so disappointed. As I approach my turn to register at the front desk...I was told my insurance does not cover them. I was so furious. Ive been paying 250 for a ppo plan for about a year now and on jan 1st my plan was changed to H M O California covered program without my consent and Increased my payments to 300 a month which I didn't mind paying that much and I have. When i log into my account online it clearly states PPO and ehealthinsurance also sees PPO on their end but it was switched to H M O. I moved and no longer reside there so a waste of my two months. Now since I've moved I qualify to switch my plan. Im waiting on the transfer approval on june 1st which Is right around the corner. Please pray for me sleevers. Im so anxious to get this started. =) Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all the hot and soon to be hotter mamas out there! -

Easy way out?? Lol have them try it...its the same as any other person dieting and exercising only with a smaller portion of the stomach. I know people who does not lose and gain more if they dont excercise and eat healthy. Also..its best to not talk about this to anyone on the outside because they dont know what us sleevers know. All they know is what they hear. I mean my husband and mother were terrified the first time I told them about this procedure and I would be too. I mean come on all u know is what states online about removing 85% of ur stomach. But once u read more into it u understand more. My husband and mother was so supportive after I explained more to them. People on the outside dont understand is sleevers.

HI, I know its hard to actually open up about our embarrassing struggles. I'm so happy I've found this group. I have severe PCOS and just starting noticing pieces of strands around my chin area. I know a few people that were taking specific dosage of certain Vitamins while having PCOS and helped them somewhat with their symptoms and weight. Are there any specific vitamins and dosage that anyone here took after the VSG surgery that will help?
