    Anyone scheduled for May 2014?

Hi everyone I was sleeved Thursday May 1. I'm almost 7 days out. So far so good. I'm glad I can be a resource for the "newbies". It's a daunting process but I'm so so happy at 13 pounds lighter! I'm feeling strong and confident. My advice - follow your plan, eat slow and don't get hung up on the numbers - we will all get there!
  2. Hi you really need to connect with your Dr as everyone is saying, but I'm wondering I'd you are trying to eat too fast? I have this difficult thing with water because I want to gulp it down so I often freeze it or put it on a sippy cup. Maybe go back to your liquid diet food and slowly introduce mushy foods. It really is trail and error. We are all different. Keep reaching out, some has got to have overcome something similar and will have some advice for you. Good luck and don't let it go too far without getting medical help.

Hi Amy No Aunt Flo for me and that was one of my hopes that I wouldn't get it while I'm recovering especially the first couple of weeks. So sorry that you got it! The n2 thing. I have been regular. Certainly not the same but almost everyday. I think that's the exception not the norm. Just make sure you are not constipated. Honestly with the little amount that we eat..I'm surprised we can Check in with the Dr. Are you back to work or taken a chunk of time off?
  4. Hi I'm just 5 days out of surgery. Feeling good and have lost 12 pounds already. It take a lot of time after surgery to eat so take the time and get prepared and relax. But what I wanted to share was I got a book from the library called "The weight loss surgery workbook" Doreen Samelson. You can buy it or get it off of amazon, chapters ect. It was a great process to go through and walked me through lots of questions and really prepared me for surgery.

Today is 6 days for me. And I feel I have had the same good luck as u:))) Hip hip hooray for us:) Lucky u 12 pounds!! I have only lost 3.7. How much Protein have u been able to get in? Today I am shooting for 4 carnation shakes-w injury 1tbsp-and 2% milk. What are u drinking? It's hard not to get caught up in numbers. Honestly a month from now we could be at the same weight loss, bodies do what they do. I have been drinking the costco premier Protein shakes 30 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar and low in fat. I drink 1/3 cup x 6 times a day. Here's the 2 week full Fluid diet they gave me1/4 cup plain oatmeal with skim milk and add scoop of Protein powder, 1/4 cup of plain yogurt (Greek), 1/3 cup of shakeSnack - protein shakeLunch- 1/4 cup strained low fat Soup, 1/4 cup of apple sauce add protein powder, protein shakeSnack - protein shakeDinner - 1/4 cottage cheese add protein powder1/4 yogurt, 1/3 protein drinkSnack - protein shakeSo I eat most of this. I might miss a scoop or so of protein powder. I take an hour to eat a meal. Never hungry. Never tempted. Water has been hard for me not to gulp down so I have decided to freeze water as Popsicles. There's all my secrets. Hang it there...it will all come together!

How are all the BC sleevers doing?

Hi other BCers I'm 47 year old mother of two. I started dieting at 315 a year ago in Jan. I'm 5'4. With the support of Dr Lyons after a year of banging my head against the wall (dieting and feeling like I was starving) he referred me to the bariatric team in Richmond. I had the sleeve done 5 days ago . I was so worried about this but now I know it's the best thing I could have done. I've lost 12 pounds So far and only see good in the future. Do anyone of you go to the support group at St Joseph's? It's nice to hear and share stories!

I am post surgery 5 days today and I have to say I have been shocked at how easy my recovery has been. The first day or two I was very fatigued but since then all has been good. I have not had any problems with gas, burping, diarrhea, or throwing up. I have been shocked the small amounts I eat and how long it takes me to eat it. My energy level is getting better each day. In fact yesterday I didn't even need a nap. My biggest challenges have been bad breath and not gulping down water. Added bonus not tempted by any food and I've lost 12 pounds since surgery. Keep positive everyone! I was so worried pre surgery that I would regret this but honestly I only see good in my future!

Anyone had splotchy rash after surgery?

I'm 3 days post opt and my left leg was red. I did notice it in the hospital but kept forgetting to pint it out to anyone. I don't have a fever and it looks like today it's back to normal. Did anyone else have that? Eating is a slow process but going reasonably well. I too am having a hard getting water in my body. I'm down almost 10 pounds to date.
  14. So in 24 hrs I will be admitted into the hospital - let the journey begin. I'm nervously excited! How long did you stay in the hospital? Did you bring any specialty items to the hospital. I just want to feel prepared at home too - other than chicken broth what else do people have for the liquid diet weeks.
