  1. I went through the same process so ask me any questions. Dr Sampath did my surgery May 1, 2014. I am down 54 pounds. Excellent process at Garret and Richmond General Hospital
  2. Hi I was sleeved in May. I'm down 54 pounds since then. I can tell you that you will feel more like you as the weight comes off. I actually don't "feel" much different and I thought I felt happy 54 pound ago but honestly it's so nice to put clothes on and they are falling off. I have now given away all my old clothes. Also I tried not to buy anything until I could wear a 20 and I started at a 24/26. It's wonderful to get full and feel satisfied of small portions! It's wonderful knowing you can go on amusement rides or airplanes with ease. You've got this! Join us on the looser bench - we are here to cheer you on. It will be much easier than you think with the right choices and a great attitude!

I just tried some of her recipes and have been very happy especially the green things - fratatas and the apricots with goats cheese and almonds! Super yummy

    May1

I can't believe I missed this thread. My surgery date was May 1 too. I started at 294.6 and today I'm 241.6...down 53! The journey has mostly been amazing. I feel so in control now - and happy to make such good choices! No more asking for a dealt belt extender when I travel or fear of getting on a ride in the amusement park and the seatbelt won't work. It's now about mindful eating and making sure I don't graze. Let's keep each other supported and motivated. Best decision I have ever made!

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I hit -50 today and had my co worker take my picture. In feeling motivated again. Looking forward to my next milestone -75. Bring on a lighter life!
  10. Sounds like you like B so have it. When I was at your stage I would ask for a second plate and pre portion what I would eat and have the rest wrapped to go. Remember to eat slowly and enjoy the company. Food isn't the focus anymore. Put down your fork between bites. Eating out is fun and cheap - if you can find someone to share with. I often order off the kids menu (if they have healthy choices). Have fun and enjoy the process.

How are all the BC sleevers doing?

Nice to hear from BC people. I'm really enjoying my sleeve but realize that grazing can get you into trouble. So far all has gone well and I'm hoovering around -50lbs this week. I'm down 3 pants sizes. Perhaps we should all meet for coffee in late Aug or Sept - I'm in Vancouver but willing to drive to New West or Surrey. Keep working the sleeve!

You look great! Just wondering about the loose skin around your belly. I'm 2.5 months put of surgery and 48 pounds down. Just wondering if I should start saving for skin surgery. Did you do a ton of exercise or mostly focus on your food intake?

    Constipation

I use a teaspoon of chia seeds and hemp seeds on my oatmeal every morning (you can blend it into shakes too) great for "curing" constipation and lots of other great benefits. They do have calories watch the amounts but worked wonders for me in a natural organic sorta way
  14. Enjoy the freedom of not wanting any of those things! Everyday I feel blessed that I don't want junky food. I feel blessed that I only want to eat small portions. That's the benefit of WLS having a break from all those things that made us gain the weight. Enjoy your break and learn to enjoy what you can have.

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I was sleeved May 1 and I can honestly say I'm so happy. I have had lots of stalls along the way but I am loosing. Yesterday I had lost 42 pounds since surgery. I haven't had a day of nausea, or diarrhea. It's interesting how we are all built differently. I currently am eating whatever I want in small quantities. It's funny though I'm not wanting to eat "bad" foods at all. My calories are just around 750 per day. I don't exercise everyday but do find ways to stay active. And I love eating out too because I spilt small meals with my 4 year old - it's so cheap! I've got a long way to go (another 100 pounds) but I see my future is so bright! Keep moving forward May sleevers your goals are just around a few corners
  16. I'm down 41 pounds so far since May 1. Really happy with my progress. My clothes are so loose on me. I usually eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I can eat anything so far - no bad reactions. I eat about 1/2 to 3/4 cup a food per meal. Snacks are smaller. I try to hit 750 calories. Exercise is either walking or aquafit. Still loving the sleeve

    Drinking?

I'm 7 weeks out of surgery and I had my first glass of wine last night. I enjoyed the taste but didn't get a buzz. That surprised me

    Wedding Anniversary NSV

What a great gift on so many levels! You're husband is so tuned in. Enjoy the a milestone
  20. What a great day today. I went to a store to buy a new outfit with hopes I would be down a size or two and I walked out with size 20 pounds and size x shirt. Before being sleeved, I wore a 24 (sometime 26) and a 2 or 3x shirt. I'm so pleased and excited! I never thought 35 pounds would be so significant.
  21. Just took my first plane ride since surgery May 1 - I didn't have to ask for a seat belt connector. It's a beautiful moment!

    Pre- Op diet withdrawal!

Don't be hard on yourself - cherries aren't a crazy "bad" choice. Today is a new day and forgive yourself and get on with getting on track. After your sleeve you will feel so much "Free er" because you just won't be craving or desiring much food. Enjoy the process - this won't be your last slip up! And come and join us on the losers bench
  23. I frozen my water bottle with some line juice. I even froze water with lime juice in Popsicle forms which helped getting water in.

6 weeks out... Is this normal

Nope you're not alone, I am 6 weeks out and never feel hungry either. I know when I'm hungry I get irritated and then think I better eat. Isn't it wonderful? I feel so free!
  25. So I'm about 5 weeks out and have lost approx 30 pounds. I'm happy with the progress. I actually have gone up and down a bit but I'm not worried. I'm doing everything they have told me to do. I know the weight will just keep coming off. I hurt my foot so I can't do the long walks I was doing. My clothes are so loose it's awesome! I'm just enjoying my lifestyle and loving not being hungry.
