✂️How many sleevers have had their gall bladder removed?
jodyjetson replied to ☁️9⃣B????'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my 6 month stomach ultrasound and they found gallstones. I have had a couple attacks and now wait for surgery in Canada. I have tried to adopt a lower fat and low carb diet so I don't have to deal with any pain. So far so good. They said it will be 3-6 month wait for the surgery. I am down 80 pounds since May 2014. My Dr thinks I should have done more but I am very happy though I do feel stuck a little. New goal to be under 200 by April 1 and 100 bounds by May 1. I must admit that I don't exercise consistently and do graze a bit. I am very happy with my sleeve. Also I am beginning to get a lot of loose skin - especially at the top of my legs but my stomach is coming down and my arms. -
Where are all my May Sleevers?

Hi All I've been pretty casual too anout the weight loss journey and just letting it fall off. I hit 80 the other day - more than 1/2 way there. I've had some stomach ache bouts and found out I have gallstones. Sounds like I may have to get my gallbladder out. I meet with the surgeon next week. I'm currently 214. Looking forward to wonderland. I probably drink wine too much and eat chips etc if I wanted to loose weight quicker I would change those habits but I continue to eat small portions. All in all I couldn't be happier -
Where are all my May Sleevers?

I'm at the same place. I'm hovering around 70 pounds lost gone from a 24/26 pants to an 16/18. Really happy with my weight loss but have "stalled" in the 220's for awhile. I'm not discouraged at the stall it's so fun feeling like I have control and I love eating little bits of food. I have been so lucky - I can eat anything - but that can be a curse too. It will be so interesting to see what happens in the next months. Lots of things to be happy about - no seat belt extenders when I travel, buying clothiers in the regular department, and great "skinny" sex. -
McDonald's oatmeal rocks! I eat 1/2 a portion unsweetened - the apples and raisins - usually without milk. I also cook steel cut oats and add chia and hemp seeds to it also adding Trader Joes orange flavoured cranberries - I usually add a little milk to it

Hang in there buddy! It's tough when there are other things going on in your life and you want to go back to the old habit of using food to compensate. Drink more water. It honestly does work to fill you up and takes the desire of eating away. Right now I'm eating 3 meals - protein based - tuna, chicken, beans. No more than a cup of food at a time. Then I have a Greek yogurt, cheese string, piece of fruit, almonds for a snack a couple times a day. I often have crackers (about 5 or 6) through out the day because I like the crunchy feeling. Try to distract yourself from using food to sooth yourself and focus on being proud of yourself of your weight loss accomplishments. Re the job - use all your connections - networking is a great way to finding work. Stay positive and believe /visualize yourself getting the right job for you. Make a list of what you want. The power of intention works (sorry for the rant, I hope it's helpful).

We are in it together. I haven't lost much weight since mid Aug and the all of a sudden I've lost 3 pounds this week. It really makes me believe that our bodies are going to do what they are going to do. So far 63 pounds since May 1. I have mostly been getting new clothes from Value Village or people giving me stuff. When I have bought new I have been buying very stretchy 16 or 18. Pretty fun! Keep calm May sleevers we are on the losers bench and not going anywhere - as long as it takes

Amen Cowgirl Jane - it's always the struggle I have. We have all lost weight before it's the keeping it off that is the biggest task. Great perspective! -

I'm with the others by saying hang in there. You might be the type who looses weight more quickly when you eat more calories. You body is in shock and scared mode. The process works. Can you imagine loosing 20 a month? I won't take too long to hit goal. Keep at it! It works I'm down 63 pounds since May 1 -

Way to go! It's funny I just thought about setting some goals too because I have been hovering around 233 (down 61 pounds ) for the past month. It's sure easy to become complacent and unfocused. I want to be under 200 for my birthday - which is Dec 26. I think it's doable 11 pounds a month for the next 3 months. Thanks May sleevers for posting! Let's keep each other motivated! -

I feel like I'm stalled too bit try to focus on what's important and not get too stuck on the numbers on the scale. I guess we didn't gain it over night either. So I'm hovering around 58 pounds right now. It's hard to think maybe this is it. I'm not even half way to my goal. Hang in there May sleevers. Lots of reasons to celebrate! -

Positivity Challenge. Name 3 things about surgery that has changed your life.
jodyjetson replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way to go Linda! What a journey and look at you now.... 1. No need for a seat belt extender on a plane 2. Loving buying clothes 2 sizes lower than I had in May 3. Eating less at dinner than my 4 year old I love being satisfied with less - and people keep calling me skinny even though I have 80 pounds left to go. -
Spicy foods question

I put hot sauce on lots of stuff with no problems. No acid problem just pure yummy ness -
Lime refresher is super yummy but has caffeine - awake tea misto is caffeinated or any of the herbal iced teas. You can order anything sugar free or non sweetened. Good luck
-
A lime refresher - has caffeine though, but really yummy. unsweetened awake tea misto, any of the steeped herbal teas.

Wow that must have been a shock. It's probably water, medicine, and anything else retention. Your body will adjust and you will loss weight! Hopefully you can have as if this is true and laugh about it. Your weight won't always make sense.
-
Remember to drink water - more if you need to. Often times when I feel hungry I drink water and then I'm not hungry anymore
-
I used lime almost right from the beginning. I had a hard time with plain water and still do. I even froze lime water so I could just suck on them. I'm with you I hated anything with artificial flavour. Hang in there.

jodyjetson replied to mi75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your body is going to do what it's going to do as long as you are doing your part with your diet and exercise. Enjoy each moment! Distract your self from the scale. Remember you didn't gain it over night and you won't loose it that way either. -
New on here. Surgery is on for tomorrow morning.

Don't feel bad...it's the best money you will ever spend. Rest, listen to your body, within a few weeks you will feel more empowered and in control than you have ever been. It's a true gift, the weight loss fight is over - you still have to exercise and make good choices but fighting it is over
