  1. Hope your appointment went OK yesterday.  With severe GERD and hiatal hernia a possibility you very well may be in line for a revision to (I'm guessing) a RNY gastric bypass - assuming that's something you're interested in exploring.  Don't let insurance concerns impact your plan at this point - regardless of them possibly having exclusions your health situation puts you in a position to challenge any possible denial.  Good luck!  Feel better!

  2. My insurance does not cover lap band for the last 5 of the  8 years I've had the band.. I'm going today to see the doctor, after not going for 3 years.. I've not had any problems and it's very expensive as a cash patient now.. main concern is the front office lady is so rude. I get severe anxiety thinking of having to go in there and see this lady. She's been his office manager/front desk for the time I've been going there and she is so rude. I'm going in today because I'm having severe acid reflux and suspect a possible hiatal hernia.. My appt is in 2 hours and I'm getting more nervous both to see her and my doctor.. since it's been 3 years.. UGH!! Anyone else not covered any more with insurance and don't go in regularly? Or maybe also have to deal with a rude front office lady? :(
