Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Wow! Everyone is doing fantastic! Keep up the good work! I was sleeved May 20th and am down 70lbs to 220. I Cannot freakin wait to be in onederland! (Maybe by thanksgiving?!) I eat 5-6 times a day-Greek yogurt with pistachios and low fat cheese sticks are my staples as are eggs and chicken. In the beginning I was super crazy about weighing myself and everything that went into my mouth. I still watch everything I eat, but it's not running my life like it was. I bought a treadmill and work out 4 times a week jogging/walking 2 miles each time. I also throw in some arm excerscises to combat excess skin. I feel fantastic and haven't been this size since high school! Keep it up everyone and enjoy your successes!

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I was sleeved May 20th and am down 55lbs. I've been at a stalling point for about 3 weeks. I just keep eating my protein and working out. I even bought a treadmill It can be defeating at times-like I thought maybe the weight would come off faster and easier-but this is marathon not a race. I'm down to a size 16 (4 sizes!!) and love how much more energy I have. I struggle getting in all my fluids daily as well, but I'm trying my best as am sure all of you are! Great job everyone and congrats on all of your successes ( scale and non scale)!!

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I was sleeved May 20th and I'm down 30lbs. Is that normal? I feel like this is moving rather slowwwwww. Like every pound is resisting. I know it's terrible to compare to others, but it's hard when others have lost 45-50lbs from the same week as me. I'm power walking about 4-5 times a week and eating about 800 calories a day. I'm struggling with being creative at meal time. There's only so much meat and cheese a girl can eat!! I avoid carbs/sugars unless it's some occasional fruit. Any advice/recipes? What do you guys eat when you want something sweet? Last night I had 1/4 banana cut up with some PB2 and that was delicious!! Glad everyone is doing relatively well besides the occasional struggle...we're on our way

    Am I doing anything wrong?

I find myself saying the same thing all the time "I've only lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks". Then I stop and think-in what other world are you going to lost 25lbs in 6 weeks?!?! I mean it's incredible, and so is your weight loss. I made the mistake of weighing myself daily and comparing it to everyone else who had surgery the same week as me. We all have different bodies, different doctors, and different plans. I stalled my 2nd or 3rd week and was crying and upset asking myself 'What did I do?' Everyone else was losing weight and I wasn't. It's defeating. Finally I told my boyfriend to hide my scale and stopped focusing on the number. Instead I noticed my pants were a bit looser, and my tops fit a whole lot better. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will pay off! I measure all my meals (because I tend to eat too much too quickly) and I've found that 1/4c or 2 oz is pretty perfect for me to feel full and not have discomfort. My friends keep asking me how I'm doing and I keep saying I'm losing but every. single. pound. feels like its resisting...like my body doesn't want to let it go! Even though I feel like that I'm still winning! Any loss is a loss and it's more than I could have ever done on my own! You're doing great! Keep it up!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Wow you've all lost so much! Makes me feel like I'm the slacker of the group :/ I FINALLY got my energy back last week. Haven't had too many complications. Everything I've tried to eat I've been able to keep down. Had a doctor apt today and they said I'm on track. I have another apt in 6 weeks and they told me I need to be eating 1200 calories by then (yikes!) so we'll see. The most I can get in at one time is about 2oz and I'm def still on my Protein shake-8oz a day! HW: 292 SW: 278 CW: 253 Congratulations everyone and keep it up!
  6. I'm in the same boat sister! I was sleeved May 20th. I'm consuming all my protein and my Water and my Vitamins. I've been walking almost everyday (some days in just so tired) and the scale creeps. It's so reluctant! How did I stay at one weight (grant it it was unhealthy) eating 1700 calories a day and now I'm eating 500 and it's barely moving?! I sometimes feel so defeated like I'm doing something wrong and my body is just telling me I'm gonna be fat my whole life. I've skimmed through a lot of posts on here and we're not the only ones. It's defeating reading that people who had the sleeve the same week we did are down 20-30lbs. I completely understand. What I'm starting to see is that weight either falls off of you or it takes it's sweet ol' time. We've got to remember that we didn't gain it all in a couple weeks and any weight loss is a win! Hang in there and know that you're not alone. It's a journey and the plans we have WILL work...eventually lol.

    May 19-23 Sleevers, Roll Call!

I'm in the EXACT same boat! I'm down 14lbs and a little depressed about being a slow loser. I know I didn't gain it all in 3 weeks, but it's defeating reading the post that say 'lost 25lbs in my first week!!' I'm also hungry on and off throughout the day. I also have been eating more normal foods like scrambled egg whites and purred chicken salad (made with non fat Greek yogurt and curry powder yummmm). Maybe that's the problem? I'm still drinking my protein and eating yogurt for lunch but I'm trying to have a variety of things for my 'dinner'. I'm just gonna keep plugging away.

    not losing

My surgery was May 20th and I'm in the same boat. I feel so defeated and I'm beginning to question why I did this. I lost 12 pounds the first week and that's been it. In fact the scale said I gained 2 pounds. It's hard to grasp that before surgery I was eating 1500+ calories a day and maintaining my weight, but now I'm eating 500 calories a day and gaining. My friends/family keep asking how much weight I've lost ( trying to be supportive) and it just makes me feel worse-like I'm failing I keep track of everything I'm putting into my mouth. Everything is lowfat/no fat and sugar free. I'm getting 60 grams of Protein in me and my Water and my Vitamins...where am I going wrong? I know we're all feeling like this...I'm just ready for this phase to be over.

    May 19-23 Sleevers, Roll Call!

Whew! I thought it was only me! I was sleeved on May 20th. I weighs 276 on my day of surgery and have been at 266 since Thursday (almost a week). I know, I know-I need to hide that damn scale and stop weighing myself. I just keep thinking...4 oz Protein drink for Breakfast, another 4 oz for snack, 4 oz of nonfat Greek yogurt for lunch, and 4 oz of a 'tuna melt' without the bread for dinner....how am I not losing?! I used to eat over 2000 calories a day and was stable. I know everyone goes through this, it just feels defeating. I also had a hernia repair. For the first 10 days I had a lot of pain right in the center of my chest...this has died down thank god. I can usually get 3-4 tiny bites in and then it starts to hurt. I'm sure I'm eating too fast, but gosh does that hurt! So then I stop, because it's so uncomfortable. This might also be weird but right next to my belly button, right below my one incision I have a lot of pain-like a pulled muscle. It hurts most when I have jeans on because my jeans sit there. It even hurts when I bend down sometimes. It's not constant, but it's annoying. I'm getting about 50 oz of Water and 50 oz of protein a day. I'm working on it lol. Best of luck to everyone!

    coffee

I would start cutting back as soon as possible. I only drank 2 cups a day and had migraines from withdrawl when I first started weaning myself off of it. I thought 'it's only 2 cups-let's do this cold turkey!'. Nope. You're already gonna feel like crap after surgery-the last thing you want is to add to it. I started out cutting my coffee in half and then cut it ounce by ounce. Then I switched to tea...now I'm used to not having it. Best of luck on your surgery!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

I also had a hernia repair, but they didn't mention any kind of discomfort after surgery. It makes sense though. Thanks!

    May 28-31st Sleeve Week!

My surgery was last week but I wanted to say Congratulations to all of you who've had it done. May you all have a speedy recovery and welcome to the losers bench! Best of luck to those of you who are getting it done tomorrow!
  14. This weekend I'll be making a trip to visit with friends I haven't seen in a while and I'll have the opportunity to go to Trader Joes. I know that's not a big deal for some of you lucky folks, but my closest one is an hour away . Hence this being a big deal lol. While pursuing around here and other sites I remember seeing some 'must-haves' from TJs but I didn't write any of them down. I know they carry alot of unique and healthier items...so what should I get? Anyone have any must haves? Or reccomendations/ideas? Favorite items they only sell there?

    Surprisingly Supportive

Congrats on your surgery! That is awesome that he's being so supportive! Perhaps he had some time to think things over while you were in the hospital and realized how important this was to you. My boyfriend was very skeptic and not the best either before my surgery...now he's using my food scale and making sure I'm getting all my Protein . Hopefully this version of our guys sticks around!
