Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Just got the call...surgery is at 8:15am tomorrow!! Ahhhh I can't believe it's here! All the planning, doctors appointments, classes, and protein shakes have brought us to the day that's going to change our lives I wish you all the best of luck and a speedy recovery! I can't wait to hear all of your stories...see you on the other side!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

I was having the same thoughts earlier tonight. Just doubts and being scared that after going through all this hard work I'll somehow end up back here 2, 3, even 5 years from now. Then I was thinking 'am I really going to remove 75% of my stomach? Isn't that kind of drastic?' I think it's only natural to have these thoughts and doubts at this stage. Luckily we're not alone. Hang in there and I wish you best of luck on your surgery and recovery!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Just got home from buying a bunch of different broths and sugar free jello. Also stocked up on sugar free Italian ice. Holy crap...surgery is the day after tomorrow!! Trying to stay focused on keeping hydrated and cleaning...lots of cleaning!!

    Weight loss pre-op

Nope, no gummies. Yes I bought my vitamins online through amazon. I bought a centrum chewable, a liquid calcium citrate vitamin, and a dissolvable B12. I was online looking for unflavored protein and stumbled across unjury.com-they have all the vitamins we need and they're all chewable. They're probably a little more pricy, but you only need to take one daily vitamin instead of two. I might try those too.

    Weight loss pre-op

That's the same pre-op diet I'm on!! My surgery is May 20th. Are you from PA? The pre-op diet really isn't bad after day 2 or 3 you get used to it. I will say that I really look forward to dinner though and actually being able to eat food. Best of luck to you!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Team 'May 20th sleevers' I just realized that at this time next week we'll all be out of surgery and recovering all ready...is it me or is that kinda crazy?! I can't believe it's so soon! Is everyone else kinda anxious/nervous? I didn't think I would be until the day before, but now I feel like it's all I can think about! Best of luck on all of your pre-op diets! We're on the home stretch...woooohoooo!!

I was just approved by insurance!

Congratulations!!! When I was approved it felt like a huge weight was lifted off my chest. The day you meet with your surgeon is the day if my surgery! Best of luck!
  11. Sure here's the list I've compiled: Zevia-it's a soda line sweetened with Stevia in case you want something with bubbles before surgery Steaz- stevia again-awesome flavored green teas Vitamin Water Zero Honest Tea Zero Tazo Zero Calorie Tea Crystal Light Pure (walmart also has theirs brand of this) Trop 50 by Tropicana-orange/apple juice along with berry and lemonade juices all sweetened with Stevia Powerade Zero-has sucralose (Splenda) And you could always make koolaid with stevia/truvia instead of sugar. Hope this helps!
  12. Anitasdream I'm the same way-in fact sugar free anything with aspartame gives me migraines, plus it leaves a chemical after taste in my mouth. Yuck. My surgery is May 20th and I've spent the past couple weeks trying to find alternative jello/pops/drinks and I've found quite a few. For instance-Ritas Italian ice has a sugar free line sweetened with Splenda. I picked up a quart of root beer today. I tried some and it's honestly sooo delicious! I'll be stocking up on that instead of pops. I've also discovered a local health food store (that I used to snub my nose at lol) and they had an entire wall of drinks/juice/ snacks sweetened with stevia. I bought a couple things to try-and they're delicious-I swear! They're are so many options of 'sugar free' out there with so many different sweeteners-if you have the time before your surgery I'd try a variety if things out and see what works best for your taste buds.
  13. Thanks for the details! It's really great to hear to hear what you're going through bc my surgery is in 11 days and I'm starting to get nervous! I wish you a speedy recovery!

Food & Bubbly drink funeral party!

That's a fantastic idea! I agree with you...nothing goes better with a hot summer day then an ice cold beer

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

Luckily my pre-op diet isn't that strict. I get a protein shake for breakfast/lunch either a protein bar/greek yogurt/cottage cheese for snack in between. For dinner I'm allowed 6oz lean protein, 1/2 cup starch, 1/2 cup cooked veggies or 1cup raw and 1tsp of fat, then another shake for 'dessert' lol. It's getting easier as the days go on, but I think I need to switch up shakes bc I'm kinda getting sick of it already. Just keep up the good work-it'll all be worth it!

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

I'm also a May 20th sleever! This is my third day on the pre-op diet and I'm also a roller coaster of emotions-struggling with hunger and crabbiness. Just got it keep moving forward and counting down the days! Best of luck to all of you on your upcoming surgeries! Can't wait to hear your success stories!

    So Nervous

I know this May sound stupid but why don't you sit and write down a pros and cons list? Be 100% honest with yourself. I'm sure the pros will out weigh the cons, then keep the list with you in times of doubt. I struggled with my decision too, but health wise it just makes sense. I'm 3 weeks until my surgery but I've spent months annoying the doctors with questions (that's what they're there for lol) and they've also reassured me I'm making the best decision. It's definitely a roller coaster of doubts, questions, positive thoughts, but I'm pretty sure it's normal and everyone has been where you are now. Hope it helps and good luck!
