Hi Denise73, everything went well with the surgery but I have stalled since week 1 until now. That made me depressed. I am going back to work so maybe the change in schedule will move things along. The Dr's office staff were nice and the surgeon is caring but I am afraid to go back for 1st month visit since I have not lost anything.

I have had previous gallbladder attack. when i did the required ultrasound they found gallbladder stones. multiple stones. from my research i have read that a lot of people end up having surgeries after vsg to remove the gallbladder. apparently gall stones are a very common side effect. so upon the recommendation of my surgeon i had it removed at the same time i had the vsg.

I have Dr Garber also. Surgery april 23, 2014 and wanted single incision. But preop he said he would try can't promise anything. I came out with 5 incisions. He also removed my gallbladder during the surgery for sleeve. 4 incisions were like he said small and the big one was in bellybutton. Not really noticeable.

Anyone have feedback on Dr. Shawn Gerber?
TIME4CHANGE5170 replied to 630racoon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The only thing I wanted to add is make sure you take them copies of clearance because anything faxed they say they did not get it. I think because they have too much volume. So I delivered all my clearances so they can scan into the computer. Keep original and tell them to mske copy. Good luck. -

I had my surgery with Dr Garber in St. Francis hospital on april 23, 2014. I saw him 2 times in hospital (day of surgery preop, day after in morning) he is very kind and is willing to answer all the questions..I was very happy with him as a surgeon and with the hospital. The hospital director of bariatric program was also very kind and kept up with what each persons medical issues were. She was the Pa which I saw on pre admission testing. She calls you on day after discharge to see how you are. So does the office of Dr . Garber. Very good experience..... -
Sleeved on april 23rd!
TIME4CHANGE5170 replied to cdouglas35's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me I realized that the stall will be about 2 weeks until the body gets over the shock. ( I watched a lot of YouTube sleevers videos). I started walking faster and alternating lengths of walks. 1 mile, 3/4 mile, no walking, 3/4 of a mile....etc.the other thing was I ate on plan and tried to have days where I ate less calories and increased my protein. On the 4th day of walking I broke stall. -

I was also sleeved on april 23rd. Down 27 pounds from the 2 week preop diet and first week post-op. Stalled for 2 weeks and finally broke stall. I have no problem drinking water and trying to limit my intake to under 600 cal. -
3.5 weeks post op...not losing
TIME4CHANGE5170 replied to Elizabeth Gonzalez's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 3.5 weeks out also. I lost 27 pounds from my preop diet and 1st week post op. After that first week weigh in I gained two pounds and stalled there for exactly 2 weeks. So I started walking about 1 mile a day... I could see my clothes were fitting better and I was loosing inches but scale did not move. Finally today 3 weeks and 2 days post op the scale went down. If you keep doing what you should do, eat the right food and drink enough liquids the stall will break. I heard of week 3-5 stalls but I experienced a week 1-3 stall. -
Hi all, I have heard of week 3-5 stalls. This is only my second week. I lost 27 pounds during the pre op diet and first week post op. Since then, I gained 2 pounds and have been sitting there since. I am going to the bathroom. Has anyone else experienced this? Help
