I finally have my letter and am waiting to speak with the surgeons office to schedule my surgery. The wait is almost over.

Yeah Michiganer, I too just got approved and just recieved my authoriazation number yesterday, now just waiting for the letter in writing and I can schedule the surgery. Its a big hurdle to be over. Woo hoo.

Great job I cant wait until I hit a victory like you being in the top 5. I am still waiting for my letter, though I know I have been approved but I cannot schedule the surgery or even discuss the surgery until I get the letter, and still torn about when to have it. I want, want, want to do it right away, but a part of me wants to wait until spring when I can immerse myslef in it and have less stress due to my career. a good friend of mine said what if something happens to me between now and then what if my health becomes bad and that made me think, I need to do this sooner than spring. So still stuck, but glad to be here and reading all of your information and about your experinces really helps me alot. So waiting to be banded. :clap2:

You know it was just when I told myself it was just gonig to take longer than I had thought at first, it was just when I gave in and bought some new clothes. I only bought things to spice up my clothes from last winter. STill it was at that just when point that I made one more call to the insurance company and the woman was really nice and she went through my file while I was on the phone and she approved me! Now for the hard stuff, getting to here is only as I can imagine the small fry, (yes I made a pun with food in it). Here I am 47 years old, never been married, raised one son on my own, who is away at college, and I am currently 360 lbs. I have hovered here now for a few years. I was always larger, but it got worse after having my son, and then when I hit forty, boy did things change. I am 5 3" by the way so still to short for my weight. Tomorrow I am calling the doctors office and try and decide to do this as soon as they can get me on the schedule, or wait unitl spring, this is my new hurtle, and this time its on my shoulders. Thanks for being here, I found this place just when! it is all coming together. :cool:

I am also waiting insurance approval and even work for the insurance company and am wondering if I will be denied. They dont seem to move to fast on this stuff. The even talk slow lol. I am an insurance agent and even I am impatient waiting for a reply. Reading your entries here helps me to maintain and stay calm and be more patient.

I also thougth I would be having the surgery soon, but now it looks as though I will be waiting until April. My drs office did not get the paper work in on time, even though I bugged them to death, and now with my work being so busy the last three months our of the year, I just cannot take the time off. My question to anyone who can answer is, will I have lots of upset stomach after the lap bad, how long do people take off from work? Will I be running to the bathroom all the time when I am on a liquid diet? I just need to know so I will know what to expect. I will be banded some day.

Hello triptobme, my hat is off to you, I am not banded yet but shoud be soon and have been visualizing that trip to the curves in my town, but you know what I dont care, Maybe I wont tell anyone about my band and they will just think how awesome I am losing weight and toning up. I weight 360lbs and cant wait for people to see me working out. Good for you. sassy

Hi, I am brand new to this forum, I am waiting for the call to tell me when I can schedule my banding. I have been reading alot here on this web site. I have to say I am so glad I found all of you. I work alot and my busiest time of the year is the last two months and I will probably be banded just at the beginning of this season. I will need this support here while I go through the process. I am a large one 360lbs and cant wait to feel smaller. Looking forward to people not treating me like they have to help me all the time. Happy to be here. Sassy :confused:
