A nurse went through the surgery with me. She said her hunger maneuver changed. So she did some research, hunger, thirst and acid can all be triggered by hunger. She double her anti acid and hunger went away. -

I had surgery 12-23-13. Started at 266. Weight loss has really slowed. I can't seem to get out of the190s. Just hovering there. Frustrating to say the least. I find myself wanting to eat on the weekends and late at night. I am trying to drink when I do want to eat. I try to stick to 3 high protein meals a day. No snacks. I have added a snack a few times, but mostly try to stick to 3 meals only. I don't think anoxia is a concern for me, now or ever. People can't believe how little I eat and still in the 190s. -

Hunger, dehydration, and over production of acid have the same trigger when is hunger pains. Increase your acid meds. Most start at 20 mg c increase up to 120 . Most increase in increments of 20 mg. check with your doctor, but I was never hungry. -
I read that this could be a drop in sugar and can happen with stomach surgery? How do you address it?

My surgeon won't operate because I complained

Call another hospital and tell them you have been approved but want to change hospitals. Leave it at that. I changed hospitals and told them if they couldn't get me in two months I would need to go elsewhere because it had to be done so my insurance would pay. I was done in a month and a half. -
what is the real reason I became obese?

I had my kids close together and never had a weight problem. After my twins were born I never gained control of my weight again. I never felt full or had any energy. I would workout in the morning and then sleep a couple of hrs. I had to stop workouts because I would wake up and my kids would be up unsupervised. The drs could never tell me why. I fought my weight for the last 22 yrs and then had the sleeve. No abuse, great husband, great childhood, great family and friends. I can only think my body never readjusted after giving birth the last time. I was to told my hormones were not right and took replacements but never felt just right. Hoping that will change after more weight loss. -
I went to Cleveland Clinic and spent a couple of days going through tests. The dr ( saw so many I don't remember which one ) told me the stomach is an organ. Organs malfunction or develop problems. He also said it wouldn't cure the problem but help with the side effects. ( weight gain) I can't help but believe the weight gain is the side affect to the problem, correct the problem and the weight gain might disappear. I do believe science will get there but the sleeve will do the trick until then.

A nurse friend of mine went through the surgery with me. They upped her Prevacid and her hunger pains went away. We eat three meals a day with fluids in between.

I seem to. Be losing hair. It was also recommended to take botin vitamin supplement for hair, nail and skin. It was the skin itching that was driving me crazy. It seems to have helped some. Took about three weeks to see a difference.

I drank a cup of milk and went back to sleep. I had some very strange dreams. I think tonight at bedtime I will eat half a protein bar and see if that gets me through the night. -
I slept propped up to reduce the pain getting up and down. A recliner or lots off pillows the first couple weeks.

I had been taking melatonin but changed it to Ambin when I was still waking like clock work. Had some almonds a few minutes ago. See how that works since I was up with the almonds. I was content not eating past 6.
