  1. I have been really struggling with this for about a week or so now. I went to the Dr. for my follow up (I had to go a week later cause he was out of town) so it had been 3 weeks since I have seen them. Well I had gained 2 lbs. and the nurse was just SHOCKED! She asked me what I had been eating, if I was excercising, how much Protein and such. I told her that I am alot more hungry than I thought I would be. Then she was saying "is it head hunger or real hunger" (I think I know when I am hungry and my stomach is growling and I am a bear with a sore toe) I told her I had an omlet for Breakfast, she was so surprised when I told her I ate 3/4 of a 2 egg omlet!! So after her response of just pure (I can't believe you can eat that much) She told me to cut down my meals to a Protein shake at breakfast, and one for lunch and then a SMALL dinner. She said I should not be using more than a small salad plate to put my food on. So here is the thing, I havn't had a fill yet. (I go in on Tues.) I can still eat a good amount of food, what is wrong? I hope I havn't stretched out my stomach and ruined my chance of good weight loss. I have been feeling so down about the way she reacted to me. I totally left there feeling like a failure. I thought this time before my first fill was suppose to be for healing, not loosing weight. But she acted the total opposite. I would love some type of feedback. I am really worried I have messed things up with the amount of food I can take in. Thanks

    I will have to agree with you that UHC is NOT an easy insurance company to deal with. I lost count on how many calls I had to make. My nurse even said she didn't have time to work on my case anymore cause they were so ridiculious to work with. So with her saying that it just made me more determined to get myself approved. After starting my first claim in March, I was finally approved in September and had my surgery on Sept. 24. It was so frustrating to say "we should know tomorrow", "it's with the nurse, they don't take calls from patients" "the dr. now has it, we should know something in 48 hrs" I bet I know all the lines you have heard. But keep your chin up, be persistant, and get people's names when you call. That always helped when I would call back I could say, "Jim told me that I could call today and find out something" They can see on their coputer screens who you have talked to and what about. Anyway, good luck. If you have any ?'s at all you can pm me.

  4. :help:Alright, so my nurse said that I will only be able to eat minimal amounts of food then I will be full. Well, I can eat more than minimal amounts of food THEN I get full. I am two weeks after my surgery and I am feeling really good. I pretty much feel normal. The only thing that isn't normal are my scars on my tummy to remind me I had the surgery. So here is my question. Is my band working? I have lost 20 lbs since Sept. 14 and the way I can eat to get full is scaring me thinking I might start to see the scale creep up! Has anyone else had this problem? One more thing, my friend is coming to visit. (I havn't and don't plan on letting her know I did the surgery) Am I fine going to the movie and having popcorn while I am on the mushy stage? It pretty much is mushy once it hits your mouth right? I am asking here cause my nurse said basically NO popcorn or lettuce or bread until I hit my goal weight. The bread I can understand and deal with but lettuce and popcorn. Hmmmm

  6. Is it okay to have? I have been having a little just to have some variety here and there. It tastes so good I feel like I am cheating! I am on the liquids stage, almost 2 weeks out, my nurse told me to just watch the carbs, it has less carbs than my Protein shakes and only 90 calories, and sugar free. When I read the posts about what to eat during the "liquid phase" everyone talks about pured Soups. So are there other things to have besides pured soups, Jello, pudding, and popsicles? I hope I am doing okay with having it. What do you think?
  7. Hello, I am fairly new, I think I have only posted one other time. I had my surgery on Mon. and am getting over the sorness. I am loosing weight everyday since I started my liquid diet on 9/14 and post op I am down 19lbs. Which is AWESOME I know, but here is my problem Of course I am loosing weight, I AM STARVING! :faint:I cant' get that "full" feeling. When I was on the Clear liquids all I could think about was things that I could eat to make me feel full. I was totally craving my Homemade Cream of Brocolli Soup (YUMMY) so the first day I could have other liquids I made it (yesterday) well today it is still delicious to me but now I need variety. (I am so sorry I know I am totally complaing here, but I'm sure there is someone out there who understands) My nurse said I go back on the 9th to see the surgeon then I can be on mushies, that I am excited about. But what to do until then? The liquid thing isn't feeling me up, I thought alot of this would go away after the surgery but nope, only for a day or two. I keep on having these thoughts enter my mind like, "is it really worth it, starving for so long on only liquids, I could have done this diet without having the surgery" "I should have just stuck with WW", "I am starving, can I get away with taking a bite out of my sons sandwich and not do any harm to the band":hungry: Please someone help, I am motivated to loose weight, and I am really excited, It is just so hard to not be having second thoughts with a growling tummy. Thanks to any advise, I'm back to my pureed Cream of Broc. soup, did I say YUMMY?

  9. Thanks for the encouragement, I really do need it, I keep on telling my self, okay after today only one more Saturday on liquids and so on. So when I get a little more down I will just read the posts. thanks again
