did I just ruin my chances?

I don't think you blew it, I was overweight but had no other health concerns and I was approved. I had high cholesterol but hadn't been tested in years...other than that it was just weight. I could do all the other things you mentioned without being winded. You will be fine.

even more HOW DO YOU COPE? POST OP QUESTIONS!

I would agree I don't think it is inevitable at all. I didn't get dehydrated after my surgery. My cycle changed slightly as well, just a little earlier in the month as well. I seem to get a bit more cramping but I am 6 months out and things are regulating. Chewables are nasty...I think at my 1 month post op I asked to get off of those, and they said you can try the petites and see how you tolerate them, I am now back to a regular multi Vitamin that I take at night. Thank goodness for that! You will be fine! Good Luck!

    Halloween Family Photo

    From the album: Momof2inIowa

How exciting is this, It will be 6 months on Thursday 10/30/2014 that I will be out from surgery. I started at 320 I am now 118!! 102 lbs down!! This is the first time I have dressed up for halloween since I was probably 22 years old! we had a blast and really felt like the queen! LOVE LOVE LOVE my family!
  8. My kiddos were 3 and 4 when I had my surgery, You would be surprised what they can pick up and understand at that age. I just just talk to them, say mommy can't pick you up right now, or sit down and have them climb up. I too had to cheat a little because we have a silverado and I had to help my little guy get up into the back seat but as long as you aren't in pain and aren't carrying your little one around constantly you should be fine. They are trying to prevent any issues internally that could come with carrying anything over 10 lbs...although i Have heard some allow up to 25 lbs so it depends on you. I wish you the best of luck! it will all be ok!
  9. Have you tried something like applesause, or a sugar free popcicle or jello? something that you don't have to chew?
  10. I had this too, it was really my body going through a detox of all the JUNK that I normally took in, sweets/caffine etc it's all not part of your new diet (which is good) but your body has to go through a withdrawl period. it will go away and you will feel so much better soon! stay strong!

    Bad breath?

I had this too because of all the medication, they make a dry mouth swish that I used after I brushed my teeth in the morning and at night, within a week it was all back to normal and I was no longer foul! good luck!

    Advice needed- sleeved 10/21/14

it's very hard in the first couple of days to get stuff down, it does get better. In my first 3 days the hospital had me so over medicated all I did was throw up in the hospital, it wasn't until I got home to where I could actually start taking in liquids. very little sips to begin with, some broth helps, Water...popcicles (Sugar free). It will get better! I hope you start feeling better soon! it's totally worth it!

    cruel family....

UGH I am sorry that you don't have the support from your Brother and Mother. Family support means a lot to me too so I know where you are coming from. Gravitate towards the people who are in your corner, remember, you are doing this for YOU, it's time for YOU and YOU will do great!!

SOME MORE POST OP QUESTIONS. HOW DO YOU COPE?

Just be mindful of what you take in, dont worry so much about the calories right off the bat, you will never get in what you need to in the first few weeks. Just listen to yourself, if you are on liquids, select protien drinks as your option. Yes you can sleep on your tummy, I am also a tummy sleeper, once you are healed I had no issues at all with stomach sleeping. I never felt starved after surgery, if I felt hungry usually a sip of Water or some Protein shake made it go away. Head hunger...this is the hardest to get over, your brain is telling you that you are hungry and you know that you aren't. Keep your mind busy...go for a walk, get a glass of water...do something to keep your mind off of food. Go to liquids and foods post op, Protien Shakes/G2/Water cheese Sticks (make up a whole meal sometimes and I am 6 months out almost!) cottage Cheese, I like to get in my protien this way sometimes for Breakfast. scrambled eggs. I hope this helps!

Size 6 and still "overweight" ?

That is amazing!! Congratulations!! I think the overall BMI is just crazy anyway. for 5'9 they say I should be 160, I can't imagine that could ever be possible. I think at the peak of my fitness in high school I was 145 so I can't imagine after having 2 kids that I could get to that size again. I am going to ask my doc what she thinks my BMI should be or ending weight goal should be, I think I would be happy around 180 to have a healthy look and not look too skinny...I will keep working though I still have a bundle to go but down 99.5 already!! this is amazing!
  18. Awesome!! good luck I am sure you will do great! Feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have. The one thing that I learned, GET UP as soon as you can, get moving, walk, sip Water, really SIP it...it takes awhile before you can really drink a gulp of water. I started at 320 and had my surgery on 4/30/2014, moving and keeping active has helped with my success! I am proud to say I am 99.5 lbs down already!! it's a very exciting journey!

    Mind games

The biggest part for me was the brain training...telling my brain that I don't need a heaping helping of dinner, small portions and really LISTEN to yourself, when you start to get that feeling (and you will know what I am talking about) stop eating, rest relax and your brain will catch up. One thing that I Found when my brain said "your hungry" I got up, I went for a walk I got a glass of Water, I did something to occupy my mind to train myself that I am not hungry. I wish you the best, it does get easier, it does take time but it does get easier!

    Better than my lie weight..

Congratulations!! that is awesome!! you are doing great!
  22. Hey everyone!! I am 5 months out from surgery, 92 lbs down doing AWESOME feeling great and super happy...I do have a concern that I want to run by the group though. Before I start, I do have a call into my doctor and will get in ASAP to get medical advice as well but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this and what it ended up being. So a month or so ago I was outside with my husband on the riding lawnmower, started feeling stomach cramps, parked the mower got off and blacked out...ended up having to go inside and lay down. it passed within a half hour and I could carry on as if nothing happened. I chalked it up to tight pants (even though I knew they weren't too tight). Fast forward to this morning, it's my birthday (YAY!!) my husband woke me up at 4:15 AM before he left to sing me happy birthday, in comes stomach cramps, so I went to the restroom thinking maybe my bladder was just too full or something. went to the restroom, stood up to wash my hands and blacked out again...this seemed to take about 45 min to pass, I am in at work today slight cramping but the blacking out spells have passed. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? does it mean I am low in something? I have had my bloodwork done recently and all was good...Thoughts anyone?

    Pregnant post Sleeve

I would agree, consult with your primary care physician as well as your surgeon, you need to make sure that you are getting in all of the needed nutrients for yourself and your baby. I wish you the best!!
