I had my surgery on a Friday, Flew home on Sunday, went back to work Tuesday. I missed one day of work. The more I moved/walked the better I felt. I couldn't imagine staying home in bed or laying low the gas was so bad for me that the more I moved the more I released and the better I felt. I also didn't take any pain medication because it made me throw up (I threw up the first 24 hours - mainly dry heaved) But once I stopped the pain meds 24 hours after surgery I felt a TON better.

@@BigGirlPanties Yeah any advice to lose faster would be great.. I'll cut them out this weekend and see if my "stall" goes away! Every time I eat cottage cheese though I feel like it gets stuck in my throat and is going to come back up! I love it but man it makes me feel like I'm going to hurl. I can barely eat any of it I was told I could do pureed foods come week two (any food) just as long as it has been pureed.

@@BigGirlPanties Oh my gosh I never thought to add to my protein shakes!! Great idea.. and Mio? I had to google that as I had no idea what it was. May have to go get me some! I love tea... it gets me through some days!

@@BigGirlPanties Yes, I had my surgery 2 weeks ago. I haven't had a Diet Pepsi since March 30th. (I cut it out during my pre liquid diet) I was fine the first 3 weeks but this week has been hard. I find myself craving it I have tried to find something else to fill that urge but no success yet. I do have some of those syrups that we used for hot cocoa but I couldn't imagine them being good with just Water.. haha!

@@BigGirlPanties really? I hadn't heard that? My Dr. said as long as it doesn't have added sugar or added juice that is high in sugar. hmmm (They are all being made from fresh fruit and veggies)

Up the calories honey!

Um why can't you have soup broth 10 days out? I was told I could have Soups (without chunks) 1 week after surgery. Even cream soups. I think it is our nature to rationalize.. I know I've done it on a few items of food for sure!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

Oh the list could go on and on... I'm tired of hiding behind my kids in our family Christmas cards, tired of headaches, and feeling tired! I want energy and to be able to move without it being hard or hurting. I am tired of wearing old lady clothing and huge baggy sweaters/shirts I want to be able to wear the cute trendy stuff! I want to be able to go to the pool with my kids and not want to cover up the whole time. I want to be able to control my portions and not over eat! I want to run my half marathons with my sister and not be 45 minutes behind her at the finish line! I want to be able to ride my bike all over the neighborhood with my daughter and not have to extend the seatbelt when I travel on an airplane. I want to work out in my yard and not get tired after 30 minutes. I want to feel sexy for my husband -
I had the same problem.. I threw up (dry heaved) for the first 24 hours straight. I wanted to throw up so bad but there was just nothing to throw up. So they didn't even let me have ice chips until 24 hours after the surgery and man did I savor those chips once I had them! My Dr. put me on an antacid on day two (after the surgery) and I am to stay on it for a month. I still get acid reflux in between my doses and it is miserable but it is getting better (I am 2 weeks post op) After you can start keeping things down start taking an antacid and it will help

Another week or two and you won't even want that pie. hang in there you can do it!!

You look fabulous!! good job! -
I must be at a stall too! I am 2 weeks post op and all of a sudden my scale has said the same thing the last 3 days! I told myself this morning that I wasn't going to get on the scale everyday because I'll just drive myself batty! I am glad to hear that there is a bit of a stall because it's discouraging to see the scale move EVERY day then all of a sudden nothing. :/

I am exactly 2 weeks post op today!! 29 lbs is awesome. I am down 25 lbs but this is also from the liquid diet the first 2 weeks. I have had the opposite reaction and have had diarrhea non stop. The food has been a struggle for me. I have no idea how many calories I should be taking in but I know it is never near enough. I have struggled with acid reflux and get it almost immediately after I eat. I have been drinking a lot of fruit and veggie Jamba juices. (I have them add a scoop of protein) and they were running a special for $2.00 for a small (which is almost more than I can drink) That way I am getting my fruits and veggies. For Water I have been drinking Vitamin water to help - it gives me the Vitamins I need and also is flavored but I watch my sugar on this. Also to help me drink more water sometimes I'll add crystal light. I have been also doing some Soups. Zuppa's makes a good Wisconsin cheese Soup made out of cauliflower (it is smooth with no chunks.) I get the tiniest cup they have and don't add any cheese to it. I also will cook chicken noodle soup but just eat the broth. I also bought a can of bean dip. It is pureed and is high in protein! tastes yummy too - but I can only handle 2 tbsp. at a time and I eat it pretty slow. Hummus is another good one - if I want a treat I will eat a spoonful of that. Also take your greek yogurt and get some frozen fruit, water and a scoop of Protein for a great smoothie! Blend it REALLY good to make sure you don't have any chunks - one smoothie lasts me 2 hours! I just take a 16 oz. cup do 1/4 to 1/2 c. of water, a container of strawberry greek yogurt (the small one) a scoop of protein, a handful of frozen strawberries and BLEND like crazy. (I use a magic bullet) you could also do blueberries, peaches etc. I've added Kale before also.
