Im in the Detroit metro area and would to have roup -
Hi- I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Twice now I have passed out. I have narrowed it down in my head to dehydration. Both days that this happened was on a Saturday and on the weekends sometimes I forget to drink my Water like I should. I have talked to my doctor about this but she said she hasnt seen this be common in post surgery patients and referred me to a neurologist but just interested if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!!

Well, I went to the doctors today. My blood pressure was 82/56, which is kinda low. She gave me and EKG and took my blood pressure laying down, sitting and standing and it was doing the opposite of what it was suppose to do. When it came down to it she said I need to drink the 64 oz of Water and eat a little more salt. I was slacking on my water in take. She's sending me for an EEG just to make sure I didnt have a seizure because when I passed out, both times I urinated on myself. Super embarrassing. But for the most part I have to drink more water. Thanks for all the replies!!!

At one month post op will i be able to travel
MelissaW214 replied to jab315's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I traveled with my two year old one month after surgery and was fine. If you dont have any unusual complications you should be fine. I would try and bring some things you know you can eat or pick some up at the grocery store when you get there. -

MelissaW214 replied to Tammylb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 4/21 and am down 30 pounds. I go through stalls. I was stuck at 220 for a while and now I'm stuck at 208. It was good to hear I'm not too far off from everybody! -
Indigestion!
MelissaW214 replied to FinallydidThis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve on April 21st and still have indigestion. The main thing that everybody tells me is to slow down eating. Eating slowly and sip on fluids. I'm hoping this will go away in time. -
travelling after surgery!

I would make sure you get up and move a lot. The main thing is not getting any blood clots. Under normal circumstances I don't think you can fly for 3 or 4 weeks after. Good luck!!! -

Grams of protein per day
MelissaW214 replied to Josh2xh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 9 days out and I get about 50 grams a day. And it is a struggle to do it. Protein shakes and anything else I try for Protein such as yogurt and cottage cheese gives me bad indigestion. Right now I sip on Water all day and my Protein shake and try and do a yogurt at night. -
Hi, My name is Melissa. I just had the gastric sleeve done on April 21st. Today is my first full day home from the hospital and I am feeling all kinds of emotions. I feel like the surgery was the easy part and now Im a bit over whelmed with how to keep up with my Protein and how I should eat. I have a lot of indigestion and am trying to eat and drink slowly but I could really use someone to talk to who has gone through this. I also am a single parent of a toddler. My mother is here helping me with her until the 30th but I am on my own after that. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Just had my first visit to the grocery store...this is way harder than I though it would be

I have found just sipping fluids constantly keeps me from the hunger pains. I have only been able to drink flavored water and protein shakes. Anything else I get pain with it going down but if I constantly sip on something I'm ok. Hope you feel better! -
Detroit metro sleever. Just had mine done on April 21st. Still getting used to it and figuring it out.

Waking nightly between 2:30-4 am

Me too! The strangest thing. This is my third night home and I have woken up at 4am every morning. -
Hi Alan! Thank you so much for replying! Man, it feels so good reading these posts and talking to ppl who are going through what I am going through. Didn't have a great day today. Just a lot of anxiety. Today is my first full day at home. Thank goodness my mom and her husband are here to help me as I am a single parent of a toddler. That's where most of my nerves comes from. She loves to head butt and elbow. I am lucky though as I don't have to go back to work until the 18th. I've just been so concerned because I have been hungry and under my dr's instructions I can be on a soft diet but that seems too much for me right now. My stomach doesn't really tolerate too much yet. I've been thinking about going back to just fluids with my protein drinks. Concerned about loosing my hair! Thanks so much for listening and sorry for the book! .

I am surprised I was a bit hungry today myself. Wow, you were out of the hospital quick! I was having pain with swallowing anything in the hospital so they kept me a bit longer, I was concerned I was going to get dehydrated. Seems like youre doing great! I have found yogurt to be very easy on my stomach. No problems so far with it. Cream of wheat also has been good. -
