Hey! I'm new to the site, but I am need of some support (and happy to give support right back!) So, today is Day 3 of the liquid diet. 12 days away from the surgery. I'm feeling better than I did yesterday, but today is still pretty tough. I've always used food as a coping mechanism for anything going wrong, or right, in my life. When I was happy, I rewarded myself with food. When I was upset, I stuffed the pain down with food. I've been working on healthy alternatives, but it's still such a challenge. I feel like I should have come farther by now. Is that normal? Or is it too much to expect that this battle would be won in not quite three months?? Any advice on staying positive would be much appreciated I put so much pressure on myself to be perfect. And I try to remind myself that it's about progress, not perfection. All my best, Katie

Yay! How was your recovery??

Hi MissMe! I really appreciate your post! Thank you so much for your support. It is incredibly important to know that others have gone though what I'm going through!! When did you have your surgery? How long did it take you to work through the compulsions to cheat/comfort yourself with food? Yeah, this is actually the hardest thing I've ever gone through. Maybe that sounds crazy to some, but I've never struggled this much. It's so hard to stay positive I physically feel my stomach cramping all the time, and my moral is so low. I've never excelled at not cheating on diets, and I am definitely being forced to confront the "compulsion demons" right now. I just feel so exhausted It's amazing to have lost 33 lbs so far, but it feels unreal, so it's hard to find joy in that. I am trying so hard to get out of this funk. I still have 10 more days of this to go... feels pretty overwhelming. ~Katie

not sure yet I'm on meds now for Hpylori it's a bacteria in the tummy so not sure yet, I'm scheduled for May 12th for surgery but that's if my approval come in should be in soon Tuesday would be two weeks...can't wait to hear you've been approved. Oh no- I'm sorry to hear that! Does it have anything to do with the diet, or is it a non-related issue?? Please let me know when you get your approval!! I was approved on April 4, and I got my date on April 7. Only 10 more days until May 7! I keep watching these videos of the surgery online. Is that weird?? Lol -

I'm extremely worried about the head hunger as well... I'm on Day 5 of my pre-op liquid diet, and not being able to eat has been extremely difficult. -

I'm so excited but I often find myself getting nervous and for some reason Im having a hard time picturing myself thin I picture myself smaller but I've been a size 18 for soooo long I can't picture myself a 100 pounds smaller is that crazy I feel the same way! I can't imagine being below 200 pounds. That's just nuts to think about! But I'm starting to actually believe that it's going to happen When do you start the liquid diet? -

My surgery date is May 7th. I'm new to the website- what is the best way to get/give support with fellow Sleevers? I'm hoping that there is a way to go through this journey with others, as I do not know anyone else who's had it. -
This is my first post/activity on here! My surgery is set for May 7, 2014. Is it still ok to be part of the group?
