    post op 1st appt

I just had my first post-op appt yesterday and it was just a weight check and a check to see how the healing is going. I have to go back in 3 weeks (which will be 5 weeks post-op for my first fill).

    Sudden Pain in Port area

I never tried to feel for the port, was just nervous it would hurt, so I don't know if it has changed. Thanks for the info I was just nervous I had done some serious damage. Don't really want to go backwards at this point, I am really looking forward to moving ahead and making some serious life changes. Thanks again.
  3. I am 11 days post-op and all of a sudden today I had a sharp pain near what I assume is my port. I have been recovering good since surgery and feeling better each day. Today at work I was leaning over my desk working on my computer, I was in the same position for a while, and when I moved to get up I had an excruciating pain in that area. It stopped me in my tracks for a while but eventually it subsided. Now I have a dull aching pain in that area. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else? I was told the port area will be sore for a while, should this type of pain be expected?

    OUCH

I agree with lifeguardmgr! I had surgery on 4/14 and I had to sleep sitting up on the couch for the first 2 days because I couldn't breathe from the gas pressure when I laid down. I felt better by day 4. As for the water, I can drink pretty large sips without any discomfort. Actually, I haven't felt any restrictions from the band at all, if not for the incisions I wouldn't feel any different than I did before the surgery.
