    Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...

Thank you *everyone* for your openness and honesty! I'll post again after my consultation - if anyone has suggestions of things to ask the surgeon, I'm open to suggestions lol. Oh .. and if anyone has before/after pics I'd love to see them!
  2. I'm looking into getting a breast reduction and lift, as well as a tummy tuck. While I'm just a little over half way through my weight loss, a friend talked to his surgeon and said when I hit the half way point, schedule a consultation with him. So I go in on Oct 25th for that. Just wondering who out there has tried going two procedures at once. My hubby said he's fine with me doing it, but I better get it all done in one go lol - he's seen too many people become addicted to it and keep going back for new things. How painful was it? What was the recovery time like? Are you happy with the results? Did you wait til you hit goal or do it a bit sooner? Etc. I'm lucky in the fact that I can work from home if need be, as well as take time off when I need to, so that's not really a huge deal, in that respect. I've gone from a 44G to a 36G and unfortunately, my cup size hasn't changed at all since losing 50+ pounds and they're saggy as all get out (always have been actually) lol. I'm looking to go down to a large C cup or a small D cup. And the tummy tuck, well that's just self explanatory (or it would be if you saw my tummy hehe).

    NSV for me!

OMG - Congrats!!! That's a huge victory. Specially since they size those things for the petite lil things around here lol. I'm so not ready to try JustJeans yet lol, although I do love their stuff. I can squeeze my arse into a Colorado 16 now, but they size their clothes larger.
  4. Dr Pleatman is also a member here and posts occassionally... I've only ever heard good things about him.

    Ready to grow scales!

Compared to my transition from liquids to solids, you're doing great. Mine was like this:- 2 weeks full liquids 1 week soft mushie foods (watery oatmeal, runny mashed potatoes, etc) 1 week with a lil more substance, like tuna, squished up canned spaghetti, etc 1 week lasagna, tuna mornay, caserole type dishes 1 week crackers, soft (poached) chicken with gravy, grilled salmon with sauce, etc Then I was able to have full solids. Each doctor is different though. Keep your chin up - it'll happen. Just takes time for your body to adjust and heal.

    Post Surgery Gear??!!

I couldn't have lived with out my soups (to puree) and strappy tops with shelf bra (as a real bra just wasn't cutting it). Good movies and good books are also a good idea. I also cooked a couple of dinners the week before and froze them, so my husband didn't have to worry about cooking while I was recovering. Good luck on Monday
  7. Congratulations on getting a surgery date I wasn't allowed behind the wheel for 7 days. I could have done it after 4 or 5, but definitely no sooner. I guess everyone is different though. Good luck with it all
  8. I get a pretty early start in the mornings - usually up at 5am. I have a Protein drink for Breakfast, mostly for convenience. lunch is at noon, then dinner at around 6-6:30. I'm full when I finish dinner. But within two hours or so, the evening cravings hit and I start rummaging through the cupboards. While I try to keep it healthy (carrot sticks, celery, etc), that doesn't always cut it. I know part of it is boredom, part of it is hunger and part of it is habit (I've always been a night time snacker). Not feeling much restriction at all right now (go for a fill early Oct), but I don't want to blow what I've lost in the next few weeks. Any tips on how to stop the evening cravings?

    I've always wanted to....

Things I've been able to do:- Fit comfortably in an economy airline seat Ride roller coasters and have the strap actually fit Keep up with my 7 year old Fit my fat calves into a pair of CFM's lol Fit into my wedding dress - its even loose now Shop in some regular stores Things I still want to be able to do:- Go horseback riding again Wear cute panties and bras Learn to pole dance Have my hubby carry me over a threshold lol - lucky him Be able to fit into one of my hubby's dress shirts and have it hang off me like Big's shirt hangs off Carrie in Sex and the City heh Shop in all regular stores and not wear the biggest size they offer (which here, is a 16) Go to the beach, in a bathing suit, without a coverup and not try to hide from everyone, or look like a beached whale lol The list could go on and on, but that'll do for now...

    I had some food tonight!

hehe .. I cheated pre op once or twice too. I'm pretty sure we all do. The nurse even encouraged having a 'last meal'. It'll be over before ya know it
  14. I'm able to eat toasted bread or toasted sandwiches and such, but generally choose not to. I had one (a toasted sandwich) last week, for the first time in two months. I got through about half of it. I do have thin crust pizza on occasion and can generally get through a piece and a half (compared to the old whole medium pizza lol). Just remember - tiny bites, chew chew chew. And look out for the soft stops as opposed to waiting til it gets painful. That, for me, has been the hardest thing to learn.

    Help me find a reward!!

That's the reason I haven't been for a brazillian in ages lol. Saw a pic of myself year before last and thought OMG - the poor waxer girl, having to endure looking at my body!! heh When I hit 89kgs, I'm definitely going back for another one. My hubby will thank me for it lol.

Only 6 More Hours Untill Banding

Congrats - you'll do fine While it shouldn't mess with your voice at all, you'll probably have a sore throat for a few days after surgery, as sometimes they have to tube you during surgery. Good luck .. and you'll have plenty of time to sleep later today if you miss out for a bit tonight lol.
  17. Hey Kare, thanks for providing that link. It took me ages to read the whole thing .. but OMG, the poor lady It definitely makes me grateful for the option of banding.
  18. Kim hunny - you've lost 45lbs since July 30th. That's not slow, that's Speedy Gonzales LOL. Well done! Keep up the great work

    Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...

How long was the recovery for you, nickie? When you say the lipo hurt real bad, compared to the band on a scale of 1 - 10, where were they both? LOL .. just trying to get an idea of what I'm in for.

    Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...

From what I've been told, if they do a reduction when they do the lift, it can be covered, cause of back issues and the like. It's just what I've heard though, so I plan on asking the surgeon when I see him next month. I agree, I would gladly pay a higher premium to have that kind of stuff covered. Its something that I would probably only use once, but it'd be worth it.

    Need Answer

I can feel my port, if I try. Like, if I'm lying down and rub my hand over my stomach (on the left side). Honestly though, I rarely notice it anymore.

    Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...

LOL Jachut - I've been reading up on some of those too. Found one in Malaysia that for recovery, you stay in a resort with its own Orangutan sanctuary. It's always been a dream of mine to go to Borneo and see the orangutans, so that just sounded dreamy. But my hubby, like yours, would never consider letting me have it out of Australia. On the same site though, they had packages out of Cairns. While its not home (Melbourne), I could deal with a week or two of luxury up north hehe. Fee, thanks for that I had kidney failure as a baby and have a scar right above my pelvic line from that - goes all the way across, similar to a c section scar, so I'm not too worried about adding another one to it. I've never really had a bikini worthy body anyways hehe.

    A New NSV--Kind Of!

Congratulations - restriction is a great thing! I wish I could be strong enough to have the scales hidden, but alas, I'm a scaloholic. Its the first thing I do every morning - and I usually go back and recheck several times a day :/
  24. I answered that I would consider the gastric bypass. I'll be honest and say that I didn't seriously consider it the first time around, after I read about the risks involved. I'd revisit it, have a second look at the pros and cons, etc. But if the risks are as high as I've read (albiet briefly), I love my family too much to chance it. I'd rather Jaz have an overweight Mum, than no Mum at all...

    Help me find a reward!!

I'm doing the massage thing for my rewards. My first one was meant to be when I hit 99kgs, but I put it off a bit and just got it last week. It was devine though lol. I went and had a few vodka, lime and waters before hand to be thoroughly relaxed. After the massage, I could barely walk back to my room lol, just wanted to collapse and sleep. My final goal reward will be tummy tuck, breast reduction/lift and of course, a new wardrobe cause nothing will fit lol.
