Thanks Ray - I'm sure I'll get there eventually 3loves, thanks heaps! Just knowing it has helped one other person gives me hope. I asked the doctor about the libido thing and she said that with some people, it makes them have trouble having an orgasm. I thought .. Oh, just what I need lol. I'm sure I'll find a way though *g* She also said that for the first 7 days, I may be irritable, but heck, I'm already irritable so that's no biggie.

Have you lost your "Wild Thang" urges?
Parvathi replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks so much for posting this, Kel!! I too have lost the urge lately, but been a bit embarassed to admit it, especially since I saw everyone talking about how much better their sex lives are since losing lol. I'm hoping that for me, its just hormones due to weight loss. I have that appointment with the GP today and that's one of the things on my list to talk with her about. Hopefully she can have me fixed up good as new before my hubby gets home on Monday morning, cause as much as I want to jump him, I know I'll not feel like it lol. -
Update... Worst week ever. (Long)
Parvathi replied to Oh 2 Be Free's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I must be slow, cause I hadn't even read you weren't feeling well. But I'm really glad to hear you're feeling better!! Sucks that this happened on your birthday week, cause for me, I know I'm Queen for the Week on my birthday week lol. Here's hoping the unfill will fix you up good as new I'll be sending some happy thoughts in your direction. -
I got one on my right breast when I was 18 and stupid lol. I got pregnant, they grew. The single lines turned into double and triple lines. Then I gained weight and more of the same happened. Now, its a big ole saggy blob. I've asked the surgeon if he can remove it when he does my breast reduction. Here's hoping! I also have a tribal on my right arm and one on my lower back (which I love!!). I'll post pics just as soon as I can get some taken.

The past few days, I've been meditating when this happens, to a good cd I have. Its helped. When its negative thoughts that are bothering me, I've taken to jotting them down, along with the time it occurred and what I perceive to have brought them on. Then if they go away, I go back and jot down what I did to make them go away. Music helps me as well, as far as getting my mind off things. I pick my favs and turn it up REAL loud. Good luck Crystal.. and I'm sending some more extra happy thoughts your way.

I'm a water drinker. I looooooove my water. I drink heaps and heaps of it. Not drinking during meals or directly after has definitely been the hardest physical challenge for me. To get around this, I try to plan my meals for when I have to do something straight afterwards. Ie, I eat breakfast (if I have it) right before I have to leave the house. That way, by the time I get to the office, enough time has passed for me to drink. I have my lunch, then go for a walk. At dinner, I'll have a bath afterwards or clean the kitchen .. anything that keeps me busy for long enough to where when I finish, I can drink.

Oh oh .. back in the day I was the 2 step queen lol. This was like in high school though. Definitely go for a few private lessons. It will so boost your self confidence. 2 step is easy and its one of those dances where its nearly impossible to look like a clutz, thankfully, as I have no rhythm whatsoever lol. Kathy, I'd love to be able to dance to black eyed peas and the like, but again, have no rhythm so just sit and bob my head lol. Desperately want to learn how to do some of the newer dance stuff to go clubbing once in a while...

Thanks ladies! Funny thing is, I didn't buy em LOL, cause everytime I buy new clothes, I lose a few more kgs and they don't fit anymore. I'm trying to make myself stop buying until I reach a 10US *g* .. I can do it, I'm sure of it

Yesterday, I had to go to the pet store to get some hay for my bunny. While at the shopping centre, I thought I'd try on a few pairs of jeans, just to see if I could find any I like. Went to 3 different stores. In every one, I was able to fit into a couple of their size 14's! That's a 12 in US sizes!! I danced the happy dance lol. The last time I could wear a size 12 US, I was in my senior year of high school .. and even then they didn't fit comfortably (yesterday they did).

How will Dad's banding affect overweight children?
Parvathi replied to Scott F's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My 8 yo daughter has always been a chubby kid, but over the holidays, she spent two months in the states with my parents. In that time, she stacked on 10 lbs!! On her lil 4 ft tall frame that was a massive amount. She had been eating healthy with me up until that point. When I told her after she got home that it was back to healthy eating, she made the comment of, "Why can't I just have a surgery like you?" I think kids, or atleast my kid, doesn't mind doing it, as long as they don't know they're doing it. Ie, she's happy to go kick the soccer ball or ride the bike, as long as I don't tell her its exercise. She's happy to eat veggie fritatta for dinner, as long as I don't tell her its loaded with nutrients and 95% fat free... Good luck -

In Pain and Feeling Stupid... need advice
Parvathi replied to migbt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It would be a good idea to go back on liquids for 24/48 hours. If in doubt, call your doctor's office. -
Sending all the happy thoughts I can muster up your way, Crystal, along with a big hug. If you need to talk, I'm here...

OMG .. that must have been the most amazing feeling!! Congratulations!!

For Those Who Have Been Banded for about 1 Year
Parvathi replied to danaclark2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm 11 months out and have lost 92 lbs. Couldn't be happier with the results so far. Best of luck to you -
Recently, I've realized that when I do get a craving for something, its generally something healthier .. ie, instead of craving chips or pizza, I might crave a bit of tuna, or a salad, or two crackers with cheese. Where I used to would crave chocolate, now I crave grapes or watermelon or the like. I've also found it alot easier lately, when order at a restuarant, to order the grilled salmon or the salad. Used to I would struggle, wanting instead the chicken parma, laden with cheese and a mound of fries .. or the fish in chips, still dripping with grease from the vat lol. Now those don't even sound good to me for some reason. Oh, I still have the very occassional day where I include chips or something if they're around .. but I don't enjoy them like I used to. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed something like this?

Apart from a bit more self confidence regarding body image stuff, I don't feel the band has changed me, as a person. I've been overweight for a large majority of my life. I've often thought, as I'm sure many others have, "Oh, when I lose weight, everything will be better." Unfortunately, this is simply not true in my case. I was thinking about it today, actually. I'm 7kgs away from my original goal weight. That's not a very large amount. I still look in the mirror when I'm naked and think, Ewww! Will I feel different after those 7kgs? Probably not. Will I feel different after a tummy tuck and breast reduction? Again, probably not. Alot of the issues we deal with are in our heads. As many a bandster has said, if only they could band the head as well. As for me, I've decided to see a psychologist regarding these issues, because I now know that losing weight will not make me the person I want to be. Oh, I'm still extremely glad I got the band and that I've had the success I've had so far with it. After I fix my head, I'm gonna have one killer body to go along with it LOL.

Thanks for that, Crystal. My grandmother has lupus .. was just diagnosed year before last. Its hereditary so its something I have worried about more than once. That story definitely has me understanding more what her life must be like ...

antidepressants/psych meds?
Parvathi replied to Monica S's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do not currently, or ever have, taken any kind of anti depressent or psych medications. I've often wondered if I need to .. but that would take a visit to the doctor lol, and mean I'd have to talk to someone about it. I have alot of anxiety and self-esteem issues to deal with, as well as bouts of depression. It runs in the family. I just started seeing a therapist last week, for the first time in my life. I'm also getting back into meditation. I'm hoping that these two things together, can help me resolve some of my issues without the need for medication. That said, I am also seeing my GP this week to determine if hormonal/chemical changes due to weight loss could be the cause of some of my recent issues. -
o0o Penni!! That's so awesome. After all the bad days you've had lately, you were absolutely front of the line for a good one soon, so I'm glad it came. Can't wait to see pics of that car .. sounds sweet
