    Plastics scheduled for July 22nd

Hey deedadumble.. I am also homozygous for c776t mthfr .. I did have a DVT so be careful.. I had full plastics in 2008 before I found out I had it.. Just know you will need blood thinners for two weeks after surgery. Now every surgery I just make sure I have my blood thinners ready.. Good luck!!!
  3. I was banded in June of 2008 starting weight 305. Got down to 163 in 9 months.. Had all my plastic surgery done (tummy tuck, breast lift with augmentation, thigh lift and advanced lipo). Stayed under 185 until I had to have a complete hysterectomy in October 2013. Menopause and my band were enemies. I began throwing up constantly, kept having to get unfills to no relief and had to have all the fluid out.. Then my doc told me most bands were failing after 5 years.. So between oct and may I went from 185 to 245 eeek! I had my band removed and bypass done at the same time on May 21, 2014. I am currently 222. This time weight loss has been much slower but it's amazing the things I can eat now I couldn't with the band. I love feeling full with out feeling like I swallowed a golf ball. Hoping the weight loss speeds back up so I can fit in all the clothes hanging in my closet...
  4. I'm eating a normal diet. So far noting disagrees with me.

  7. I was self pay and never even was offered bliss . I think it's probably worth it to go for the longest time since it seems more cost effective if you can swing it. I'm a month out no complications knock on wood!
  8. I could have gone back to work after day 4. Every person handles surgery differently.. I think it has a lot to do with your health and size pre surgery. I had a low bmi 35 and had no other weight issues. From what I can tell the bigger you are the harder it can be.. I didn't have to have drains but I know some who do. I would talk to your doctor. If you have drains I'm thinking you would need a little longer recovery. Good luck and congrats on the job!

Pork chop cooked in tinfoil with tablespoon rotel and 1/4 onion. Yum!
  11. The Trojan brand lubricant is amazing!! Same with above dryness with meno but this stuff is awesome and not sticky.. It's expensive like $20 for a small bottle but you only need a smidge so it lasts and it's worth every penny. It does dry up either.
  12. And I actually felt great.. I really had minimal pain.. I guess I was a lucky one.
  13. I put deodorant on an hour after I got out of recovery. You can use baby wipes and deodorant as soon as you are in recovery.. Don't "sweat it" haha

    6 month update

    Congratulations !!!
  18. If you google them there are tons of recipes for protein pancakes.. There are so many options.
  19. I had lapband and was successful with it for 5&1/2 years (lost all my weight in 9 months and kept it off). Then it failed.. I had to have it removed on May 21 2014 and I chose rny bypass main reason was I wanted this to be my final wls.. I loved my band but I wouldn't have gotten it if I had known it would fail me.. It had deteriorated and was causing me major reflux. Another reason I didn't get the sleeve if you have reflux that isn't the option you want to choose.. Good luck!!!
  20. Southwestern eggbeaters and turkey sausage, Greek yogurt with bear naked granola, protein shake, hard boiled egg and a slice of lean ham, protein pancakes.. These are just some of the things I have for breakfast.
