Cheating..No, not with food!
allielee replied to kimalicious's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been married 17 years and we have never cheated. Marriage is hard work and we made a commitment to each other. My advice is never call each other bad names.. never talk badly about your spouse.. these two items i believe cause alot of divorces. You think and say positive and you think and feel positive. This is what has made our marriage so successful.. we act like newlyweds because we not only love each other we really really like each other. -

wow they put 5cc in no wonder you can't eat.. i also have a 10cc band and was really restricted with no fill. It is completely normal for you to be so restricted between swelling and fill. After surgery I took a shot glass and made sure I was drinking a shot glass full of liquid every 15 minutes to stay hydrated. I was banded on june 20 and feel so great! I still have some gas but not nearly as much as I did at the beginning. Congrats on your lapband! allie~

well I am not sure what time period you are referring to wicked me.. my preop diet was 2 weeks of optifast ( liquid protein drinks) and 2 days of clear liquids before surgery then liquids for i think it was a week then full liquids which was yogurts and broths and stuff like that then mushies.. then real food.. i just had a fill the day before yesterday so i am on liquids but not hungry.. i honestly felt like the hardest part of all this was the preop diet but I made it through!!! And you will too. Just take one day at a time. I was so scared about it but it really wasn't that bad and I tried to not watch tv which made me hungry..lol.. good luck and you can email me anytime at 1morrisfamily@comcast.net. allie~

Hey I know exactly how you feel.. I made a list of my favorite foods and went on an eating binge before surgery.. i regret it now because in reality you can still eat your favorites its just a much much smaller portion and your full and satisfied. The preop diet I was on was tough but manageable. You can do it and stop beating yourself up and realize the lapband is not a diet! You are not going to feel deprived or feel like you are missing out.. I am so happy with my band and do not feel deprived or like i am missing out on something.. good luck!

allielee replied to ocbreeze4u's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hate to tell you this but I bought all the different flavors and I hate them.. they taste like fruit flavored feet to me. :/ My hubby is a bodybuilder and says they are OK so i guess it's just personal taste.. -

I'm Wondering--did you TELL?
allielee replied to thughes113's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have told everyone.. my family, friends, customers.. and I haven't had one negative feedback.. I even have showed alot of them my scars ( I was banded on June 20) I am excited and proud of the choice I made. I did this to make me a healthier person. If people are not supportive that's their insecurities not mine. But as of yet it's been great. Honestly it never occurred to me that people wouldn't be supportive. I guess I always believe people are generally good. -
Hello all you June bandsters! I was banded on June 20! I checked in at 7:00 a.m., was brought right back. They weighed me and I was so excited I had lost 22 pounds since i had started preop diet. Then came the Iv had to be stuck twice..fun. then a shot in the belly.. I was so excited not nervous at all until they came for me and had to hug my hubby goodbye.. i got choked up but was fine..went to the back and it was nice and cold. They gave me some meds in my iv to relax me and that's all i remember. I woke up in alot of pain and kept asking to walk since i had read on here that the gas was what caused the pain. They gave me a little bit of meds and I was up walking.. went to the bathroom and checked out my tummy. I was surprised how big one of the scars was like the size of my ring finger. The others are tiny.. no stiches.. looked like glue.. very cool. I was given the option to stay overnight and we had booked a hotel room close to the hospital and all I wanted was to go lie down with my hubby.. so by 1:00 p.m. same day we were on our way to the hotel.. I had some trouble with feeling like i needed to vomit but had burping.. it was pretty violent and scary but over quickly.. Honestly the gas pain was the worst. Only pain in my belly no shoulder pain. I took maalox and gas x strips.. they definetly helped. I still as of today have a little gas pain but I am feeling better and walking as much as possible. I definetly won't be at work till monday. I just couldn't do it.. Yesterday I tried a little yogurt and some cream of butternut squash strained. It went down ok and today i had two teaspoons of yogurt and half a strawberry atkins shake.. so far so good. I can't stand the taste of the isopure.. it makes me gag which really hurts.. so I am trying to get protein elsewhere. I am so glad i did it and am down a total of 29 pounds since post op diet started. Good luck to all who are getting it done! I am very happy I did it. I am a self payer but found it worth every penny I have spent. I saw a article today that said women who have bypass or banding done cut their cancer rate for ovarian and breast cancer by 80% with the surgery and losing the weight.. $17,800 just to cut my cancer rate by 80% is worth it but to also add years to my life, be healthy.. save the 10 dollars a day i was spending on lunch the going out for dinner etc.. This surgery was the best way I have ever spent my money! xoxo
