  3. Hi great job cupcake! I have 26 pounds left until I am a normal bmi of 22. love my bypass. I can't tolerate fats, alcohol, more than 10 g of sugar at a time, processed and fried foods.. I pretty much can only eat healthy foods which is awesome!
  4. I post my food choices on my Instagram allielee73 if you ever need ideas I hashtag #mypouch and #bariactricpal
  5. I had lapband in 2008 was 305 went down to 170 in 9 months. Kept it off for 6 years then my band eroded in oct of 2013. I was revised to bypass in May 2014 but had to gain weight to meet the criteria to have the bypass. Day of surgery I was 245 on May 21, 2014. I am at 189 now still have 19 left to get back to my optimal weight but it's coming off ????
  6. Hi! I was successful with the band and a self pay. I was banded in June 2008 and lost all my weight in 9 months. Kept it off for almost 6 years. No complication until October 2013 then all of a sudden I kept having issues.. Come to find out my band had eroded. I revised (another self pay) from band to bypass in May of this year. Wish I had just done the bypass in the beginning. Like I said I was successful and would have kept being successful if it hadn't of eroded. I didn't even consider the sleeve after seeing the sleeve to bypass revision board on here. I didn't want to have to pay for another wls surgery. I do know many people who didn't do well with the band for whatever reason but I can say it worked for me. I find bypass to be so much easier than the band was. But that is just my personal opinion. I wish you lots of pounds lost in whatever decision you make and feel free to pm if you have any questions.

    Question on Weightloss

I was a band to bypass and had a lower bmi but I have lost on average 10 pounds a month since my surgery in May. Doc said I would lose slower than others but from what I see I think I'm losing faster than he thought.
  8. I am 5'8" 305 highest now 191. I wear a size 8. Still losing. I have lost 5 more since the bikini pic and I am 44.
  9. I found by mixing 32 ounces of water, 2 of the single serve grape individual packs of crystal light ( I use walmart brand) and grape isopure I can't even taste the nasty after taste! It's really good. I get 15 grams of protein this way by drinking flavored water that has no gross after taste..
  10. Hi, I was struggling mentally every time I had a stall until I found my fitness pal (it's an app) I started logging my weight every day and guess what.. There is a pattern to my stalls I will stay or even gain for a week or sometimes almost two and then I will lose. The graph has helped me soooo much to not become frustrated. It helped me to see my great success.
  11. I use one cap of miralax in my coffee every morning.. I also have a squatty potty and the two combined have solved all my issues!! Even my IBS
  12. I would think if you aren't on painkillers it is fine. I didn't need any after the first 24 hours. I bet the docs don't want you to if you are still medicating.. IMO
  13. I am now 3 months out from revision and I am down 48 only 20 more to go! Rny is soooo much easier for me than the band was. Love it!!!!! I've had no complications and I feel great!
  14. I was fine to be alone day after surgery. I was up walking and had no complications and I was a revision from band to bypass.

  18. Amazon it's in a purple bottle.. I think they sell it at Walmart as well.. I find that it HAS helped me tremendously! My hair is thicker than it has EVER been.. Not sure which is doing it or the combo but between the biotin and shampoo it's working
  19. I sublingual biotin and I use biotin shampoo and conditioner my hair is definitely thicker than it was..

    Help!

Call your doctor! I never had nausea except for when I was coming out of anesthesia. Better to be safe than sorry.

    Long term eating

When I eat out I order off of the appetizer menu.. Ahi tuna, shrimp cocktail, chicken skewers etc. If they don't have anything non carb I will ask the waiter if they could just cook a piece of fish for me.. Usually it's cheap too. For home I buy a rotisserie chicken on Sunday and pick pieces off for lunch with a teaspoon of black beans and 1/2 a 100 calorie cup of Guac or I'll have shrimp with cocktail sauce I make (reduced sugar Heinz and some plain horseradish).. Dinners I usually make a foil pack of fish and veggies sprayed with Pam and put on the grill.

How many went from lap band to bypass?

Oh and I didn't have any issues with feeling sick until 2 weeks ago.. I can't handle carbs or fats. I haven't even tried sugar.. Don't be surprised if all of a sudden you can't tolerate foods you do now..

How many went from lap band to bypass?

I was revised on May 21, 2014. I was a low bmi since the band had worked for me until it eroded. I've lost 43. It is way slower than when I had the band but I also had 120 pounds to lose then but from what I hear all revisions usually lose slower, I wish I had done bypass first sooooo much easier than the band! Congrats on your revision!
