    Tricare coverage change

    Bahh.. I was 100 pounds overweight with no co-morbids and was DENIED.. I ended up shelling out $18,500 and got it done.. it is so frustrating (for me) and happy (for you) to see approval with just overweight. Tricare approved me to get the bypass but not the lapband and my hubby said it was to risky thought $18,500 was easy to pay in exchange for risking death with bypass... Has anyone heard of any of the military bases doing free plastic surgery ie tummy tucks? My hubby got a free vasectomy reversal couple of years ago.. wondering if they have any other free things..

  4. 10:00 a.m. b: 1/2 cup oatmeal 2:00 p.m. l: 1 slice turkey and 1 slice jalepeno montery jack cheese dipped in ranch 6:30 p.m. D: 1/4 of pie crust wrapped around hamburger and cheese .. sooo good but soo bad for me 8:00 p.m. s: my daughter made blackberry pie and i had a piece.. couldn't resist.. felt sick afterwards.. I usually can't eat before 10 due to my band being super tight in the a.m... sometimes drinking is even a struggle.
  5. I have consistently lost since being banded. I am averaging between 13-25 pounds per month. I was banded on June 20, 2008 and got my first fill on July 20, 2008. I have been really aggresive with my fills and before my first fill I was very good about what I ate and excercizing. I believe the band is a tool that you have to use. If you don't you may not lose as quickly as you want. I have lost 81 pounds since june! I have to be honest and say there were times I was hungry.. I try and drink more fluids then. I really stick to these simple rules: #1 do not drink at least 1/2 hour before or 1/2 hour after eating. #2 3 meals a day no more than 1 cup per meal. #3 eat solids!! Don't eat mushies because they are easier to eat.. eating solid Protein keeps you full longer and you eat much less. #4 excerize! #5 try and drink at least 64 oz a day (when you drink that much you aren't hungry) #6 if you want chocolate eat a mini size and walk away.. don't deprive yourself just eat things in moderation

    good news and bad news

    Great news.. I didnt see any bad news.. 10 pounds a month is awesome and woo hoo on the 14's I just was able to get into 16's and I was so excited. You look great and congrats!

    Low Carb Banders Unite

    Hello everyone.. I have hit a plateau and decided to officially go carbless.. woo hoo.. I have done low carb since banding but definetly need a push to get over this stall. I would love if you guys could post what you are eating daily for ideas of low carb items.. I think it would be helpful for us low carb newbies.. I appreciate all the help I can get!

    hey there.. also try papaya enzymes.. you can get them from gnc they are chewable and taste pretty good.. i think it's like 2.99 for 50.. they really help when stuck. I try not to use them because I found that I was using them to overeat things.. bahhhh.. so when i get stuck I have been forcing myself to deal with it so that I learn to not overeat or eat to quickly.. but the enzymes do work.!!

    Strike.. congrats on the 14's woo hoo! I am trying not to weigh myself everyday.. I seem to have gotten compulsive with it. Go figure.. me compulsive..lol. So instead of weighing myself 30 times a day, I am trying to weigh every 3 days. My family was getting worried about how obsessed I was. If I ate anything I would run up and weigh in. Bahh.. I know it's crazy. Then if it went up even a smidgen I was depressed. So my compulsive eating has merged to compulsive weighing. I have to find something else. I used to smoke of course compulsively.. 2-3 packs a day! My father passed from lung cancer and it was a wake up call for me so I quit cold turkey... and gained 130 pounds.. nice. Why can't I just be normal (I guess there is no normal). Wow that was some rambling..lol.. Long congrats on being less than hubby!!!! My man is 6' but he's a body builder so he carry's most of his weight in his chest and arms. mmmmm.. sorry i was thinking about last night.. I love being thinner.. being able to do things in different ways (blushing) is so friggin awesome!!!!! I hope you all have a great weekend!

    Hey there... I am shooting for 176 which is what I weighed after I had my two girls and I felt awesome.. I guess anywhere between 165- 185 is where I am shooting for. At 165 I am skin and bones... Today I am 228 I have to update my ticker. My hubby weighs 227 and it frustrates me to no end!!! I am hoping by sunday to weigh less than him..lol..

    Good Morning Junies!! So I have an exciting event to share.. I now wear a size 16 pant!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH I am so friggin excited I can't even begin to tell you. The day I was banded I was wearing a size 24 pant!! I notice the pounds aren't coming off as easily the closer I get to goal but I really feel like I am losing inches. I have been trying really hard, had a few setbacks which were all mental but I was so happy when I grabbed 3 pairs of 16's just to see and all three fit!!! You should have seen me doing a happy dance and giggling in the changing room! I wanted to run through the store screaming I am a 16 a friggin 16!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Awesome job long2be you did it!!! Apples almost to goal awesome job!!!! Iteach congrats on hitting 70!!! I am so excited for everyone.. Ok I am having a very very crappy day. My mammo came back and today I went and saw the surgeon and he told me to "mentally prepare to have a double mastectomy by the end of the year" BAHHHHHH .. just to clarify between the genetic testing, my mammo, ultrasound and upcoming mri this is where he came up with this info. Just when I am getting my shit together with losing weight I get hit with this! I am trying to stay positive and the good news is I will get some new boobs! I am trying to not throw a pity party and stay upbeat. It scares the crap out of me due to seeing my grandmother pass away from breast cancer. I have not been diagnosed with cancer but it's leaning that way and with the brac gene I guess I need to say goodbye to my girls. I go on the 24th for the breast MRI which will help determine where I stand. Uggh.. oh and he also said that I should probably get my ovaries out as well. Menopause and my girls gone sounds like fun.. Ok I am rambling.. Congrats again to all us Junies on making it through the past 4 months!!!!!

    1st fill a bust!

    sweet spot means when you get a fill and it is perfect.. you are not to tight but you are tight enough. For me that means I can't eat any breads or tougher meats like steak or chicken. Some people get their sweet spot where they can eat steak and chicken. It is the place where you eat a little and are full for a long time. At my last fill I was to tight and had to get a slight unfill.. how did i know i was to tight? Well I couldn't even swallow my own spit without throwing it up.. that's to tight. I have lost 10 pounds in the two weeks since I found my sweet spot! I have to eat slow, very small portion and chew alot or else I puke or slime.. and I hate doing both!!! So I hope that answers your question. If not let me know.. I will do my best to help you! xox

    1st fill a bust!

    You are doing great! Try and not to focus on the pounds. You are losing inches which is just as important! 12 pounds since September is amazing! It took me 6 fills before I hit my sweet spot. Just keep doing what your doing its working!
