aww long.. I wish your visit had gone the way you had hoped.. maybe one day she will come around.. KIKI!!! You look gorgeous in your wedding dress! Congrats on your wedding and your weight loss. You have done a great job. I'm off to wii fit and ddr 100 calories off. Just a neat hint I found.. There is this website called hungry-girl.com and they have a cookbook and a daily email which is awesome.. anyways i tried one of the recipes tonight and it was delicious.. I took a carrot cake mix and a can of pumpkin (just pumpkin) mixed the cake mix and the pumpkin nothing else and baked.. it was really yummy.. the batter is thick but the muffins come out moist and light. The pumpkin adds Protein and you use no oil or eggs.. it was fantastic! there is another recipe where you mix a cake mix with a diet coke.. it's supposed to be good as well..

Has anyone every done a self fill or unfill??
allielee replied to emily111's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had 6 fills and I have never had an xray.. I can't see why you would need one unless you had a problem. Wow giving yourself a fill would be interesting. NO THANKS lol -
Apples.. sorry about the fire.. thank god you caught it! apples and long.. Congrats on 29 years woo hoo.. I will be married 18 years next month. Long.. I am thinking valentines now as well.. it is getting sooo hard lately.. I keep gaining and losing the same 3 pounds.. bahhh.. I hate hate hate plateaus.. I hate hate hate having to work harder to lose weight..lol.. I wish I had excercized harder at the beginning when it was flying off.. i am happy with my weight loss so far.. just bitching like always..lol.. It's funny how I think I will wake up one morning and the fat will all be gone.. I know it will eventually happen I just want it to happen tomorrow! I definetly have no patience for this. We are going to virginia to see my hubbys parents for xmas and my mother in law is very judgemental... at our last visit last year she said to me.. "my aren't you getting heavy.. don't you think you should lose weight" (by the way she is heavy herself) .. I thought i looked decent guess not.. I am hoping she notices the change but I am sure knowing her she won't say anything.. alright enough of my moaning.. have a great terrific day Junies

I too was addicted to diet pepsi.. I drank a six pack a day. I am also a coffee addict.. during my pre op diet i gave up both.. it was rough going for a couple of days.. headaches and such but I did it.. I would never ever drink anything carbonated due to the fact that I know someone who continued drinking soda after the band and ended up causing her band to slip and she lost literally no weight since she had stretched her pouch so much. NO THANKS.. I seriously do not even crave soda at all! I do drink 1 cup of coffee every morning now, which I started about 3 months post op. I am at work at 6 am and need that jump.. It does not cause me to be hungry.. I usually can't eat anything till about 11 a.m. since my band is so much tighter in the morning. I wish you luck but if you can't kick the soda addiction my advice is DONT GET THE BAND... the band is a tool. Not a cure all..

long!!! Congrats on the 80 pounds lost!!! I love your goal of 50 by 50.. I think I will do that as well.. I have only been to probably 10 so I have my work cut out for me.. but i have twelve years to do it! The climb was challenging.. I loved it.. i ate a couple of bites of Cereal before we went up and that was a mistake.. I spit the whole way up the mountain..lol.. but I made it! Apples.. what casino did you go to? I live in gales ferry smack in between foxwoods and mohegan sun. I keep meaning to ask you.. did you lose all your weight since surgery or had you lost some before? I am impressed! I was hoping to lose 100 by christmas but at the plateaus I keep hitting doesn't seem likely.. but I am still going to try.. I hope everyone has a great day and keep up the great work! xoxo

just my 2 cents: I have told everyone and it has really helped drive my weight loss.. I have lost 84 pounds in 4-1/2 months. I am held accountable now. I am glad I told everyone.. I didn't want it to be a secret because I knew I wouldn't try as hard. It has been a wonderful experience and honestly I haven't had any negativity.. because when I told people I told them with excitement not dread, I found they were excited for me as well.

Good morning June Bugs.. Well today my hubby and I are climbing a mountain. Yep that's what I said a mountain. I have ALWAYS wanted to do it.. but when I smoked I knew I'd never make it then when I was at my heaviest I knew I'd never make it.. So today I don't have any excuse.. today I am doing it! Everyone talks about how beautiful it is at the top and how you can see forever.. And I get to see it!! It's 56 degrees so should be beautiful! Wish me luck that #1 I make it and #2 I don't fall off.. lol.. This has been a crazy weekend for me.. my 17 year old daughter T-boned a school bus and broke her collarbone and totalled her car. (thank god she and the kids on the bus are ok) Nothing like a little scare to put things in perspective and make me realize to stop waiting for the perfect time to do things.. live life to the fullest and that is why today is the day I am climbing a mountain! I FROM THIS DAY FORWARD AM LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST.. I kept saying when I get to my goal weight i will do this or I will do that.. NO MORE.. I am doing it all now!!! God bless and have a wonderful weekend!

Veteran Bandster but new to the site

Welcome!! Congrats on your getting back on the "band wagon"!! -
okay I have exactly 7days b4 surgery and not doing well....
allielee replied to nikki_b335's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to follow the pre op diet! If not you could wake up in recovery with no band. If you can not follow the diet you need to contact your doctor and maybe postpone your surgery until you are mentally prepared to go through with the necessary steps. This may sound harsh but believe me when I say, it is better to postpone than be cut open for nothing. My girlfriend didn't think she needed to follow the diet either and guess what, she didn't get the band.. her liver was to large. You can do it but if you are not mentally ready then my opinion is the band will not be the tool you need. And believe me when I say the band is a TOOL. You have to follow the rules even after being banded. I wish you luck. -

Calling all self payers! I've got questions.
allielee replied to alegna242's topic in Insurance & Financing
I am a self payer, paid 18,500 I financed through my local credit union.. my rate is only 6% compared to care credit of like 12%. I am paying 500 a month to get it paid off quickly... I looked at it this way .. I could buy a new car that would last me 10 years (maybe) or I could invest in ME which will last for a lifetime! I chose ME!! It was the best decision I ever ever ever made! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck on your journey! -

How long till you were back to work?
allielee replied to AllysPC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey there.. I was banded on June 20, 2008 and my plan was to go to work on the 23 yeah right! I ended up taking the entire week off.. I had alot of trouble with gas pain. -
Hey there Junies!!! I too am stuck long2be.. I keep fluctuating between 78 and 84 pounds lost.. bahhh.. I love that I lost so much, it just seems to get to a point I really have to work to get it off.. I guess the closer to goal we get the harder it becomes. I am trying to focus more on the size of clothes I am wearing and not the number. I was weighing myself like 10 times a day going from elated (numbers were down) to depressed (numbers were up).. I don't want to trade my addiction to food for a eating disorder.. I am struggling with the attention I have been getting. It is elating to get honked at but scary as well! I hope everyone had a great Halloween.. I can't believe it's only been a little over 4 months since i got my lapband!

I have had so many nsv moments but here are a few that I have really enjoyed: I got rid of all my size 24,22,20,18 & 16 clothes!!! The only things in my closet are 14's!!! I can paint my own damn toes!!! My gut used to get in the way now I can bring my foot all the way up woo hoo! I weigh less than my hubby! I got whistled at for the first time in over 10 years! The mirror matches my image of who I am.. it is not shocking to walk past and go "WHO THE HELL IS THAT" .. My hubby can pick me up and carry me upstairs.. gosh do i love that.. I wish he would carry me everywhere..lol.. it makes me feel so little and sexy!! Those are just some of my nsv's!
