You definetly aren't alone jeez, it's tough to come up with helpful hints, I just really try to follow the band rules. I eat slowly, chew chew chew, eat Protein first , veg second. If I need a snack I always stick to a 100 calorie candy, I never eat more than a cup of food at a sitting. I stop eating as soon as I feel satisfied. I don't eat any Pasta or rice (my doc says these can swell in your pouch and cause your band to slip) I really don't eat breads for the same reason. I drink alot of Water and I workout 5 times a week. I really have worked hard to lose this weight. I am glad I have the band as a tool but really it is just a tool. I have been pretty aggresive with my fills as well. Hmm, I think that is pretty much it. If you have any questions don't hesitate to pm me. I love my band and know that it is the best thing I have ever done for me! Now I am looking forward to getting some plastic surgery done! :smile2:

Good Morning Junies.. Angel.. 2-3 weeks is I think a great wait time. For my fills it's now a 6-8 week lead time before next available appt. I learned my lesson though, 2 fills ago I scheduled my next 4 fills then and there that way I had them booked. Since you aren't feeling any restriction maybe see if you can call and pre schedule 2-3 more fill appts. Long- I hear ya on the pants issue. Long jeans fit me perfectly but long dress slacks are always a tad long unless I am wearing heels. I do have to say that I have broken out my heels. I love wearing them they make me feel sexy and powerful.. lol. with them on I am like 6'0! I have always loved being tall and when I was heavier heels just killed me and I thought I looked ridiculous. Now though I wear them as often as possible. lol. Oh and I am sooo sorry about the snow.. ughh that's crazy! So I have been working out 5 days a week and it's crazy to say that I love it! It feels like dirty talk to even say that.. lol. I am ADDICTED to the elliptical. I can go on that thing forever! It is really nice to go with my hubby and he is constantly coming over and kissing me telling me how proud of me he is. It feels so awesome when he looks at me I can really see how proud he really is! It really pushes me to work harder. This lady who was working out next to me asked if we had just gotten married..she was shocked when I told her we have been married for over 18 years. It feels like we are newlyweds again though. Have a great day Junies..

great job nicole! keep up the good work! -
Good Morning Junies.. I just read through the weekend posts and looks like everyone had a busy weekend! Long, I am going to go buy one of those bras when I get to goal. I have had to buy a new bra every month my girls are shrinking away! I was a 44 dd when I started and now I am in a 38 D. I really don't want them to get any smaller! I have been working out like crazy and I am feeling really strong. I love running my hands down over my tummy and legs and feeling bones and muscles.. I know that's creepy right..lol. but it's so different to feel like a regular person. My hubby is also obsessed with my new body.. I swear I am going to end up with a broken bone  He has been working out with me every day and as his muscles get bigger and I get smaller it is just becoming really interesting lol. Angelyco- welcome back. I feel so bad for you that your doctor isn't helping you be successful with your band. If you could have lost weight without fills why in the world would you have gotten the band. His thinking is outrageous!! I hope you can change doc's so that you can get the fills you need. I can't even imagine how frustrated you are. I wish you much luck and keep us posted on how you are doing. Do you have any restriction at all? Have you gotten any fills? I am just totally flabbergasted that your doctor is thinking the way he his.. diet and nutrition bahhhh!!! Good luck!

I am ready to move south just to never have another winter like this past one. I hope it melts quickly for you! Army- have fun with your sister! You must be really excited. Vz and Lucy- I miss costco, I used to be the area supervisor for the new england region. When my hubby got stationed in CT I had to give up the job since there wasn't any costco's in CT at the time. :smile2: I loved that job. I just traveled to all 7 of the costco's hired and fired people and snacked snacked snacked..lol. We have a bj's here but it isn't nearly as nice. I love costco's christmas stuff, they really do a good job with making their own products. Well, it is Friday and you know what that means.. time to party! LOL. This is my last Friday working. So we are going tonight to our local bar and going to celebrate. Yep I said celebrate. I figured God has only ever opened doors for me, never closed them so he must have some great planned for me. I am really excited to see what it is. I am trying to live my life with a positive outlook. Enjoy your weekend Junies! xoxo

Hey there Wanna, How are you holding up? I hope you are feeling great.. keep us posted! -
Good Morning Junies.. Vz and Army.. so sorry to hear about your fill troubles! Long- woo hoo on the 10's! Lucy- I hear ya.. I always eat more on the weekends. This is my last full week at work as of next week I only work m-thurs. I have a plan to do major housecleaning on friday's to help keep me busy. So, I made it through yesterday. whew.. it was the 6 year anniversary of my Father's passing. It was a pretty rough day for me but I survived it. I ended up going to the gym and doing the elliptical for an hour but as soon as we left I went to the grocery store and bought a little dove easter bunny and scarfed it down on the drive home. Why does chocolate still make me feel better? I thought about it all day and finally even after working out still had to go buy one. But my hubby said honey at least it's just one little chocolate bunny last year you would have bought a bag and eaten all the baby bunnies! This is true! I didn't meet him until I was 24 and then just 9 short years later he was gone. :tt1: OH well, here's to a better non chocolate day! xoxo

Hey there.. I am sure you will like NCL I just hated the freestyle way. We have been on quite a few carnival cruises and love the pampered way your dining experiences are with them. You have the same waitress or waiter throughout the cruise and they anticipate your every need. With freestyle you have different waiters at every meal. It didn't feel as pampered..lol. That was the only difference. It was nice eating whenever we wanted but wouldn't choose freestyling again. I definetly want to try Royal Caribbean and Celebrity since I have heard so many great things about them. Man I want to go on a cruise now! :frown: I'm so jealous of you both! Have fun! -
b: 2 melba toast with triange of laughing cow lite cheese L: 1 meatloaf muffin with 2 baby carrots d: 1/2 piece of salmon and couple of bites of salad s: 3 thin mint cookies ugghh

Hey there ctcutie, I also had this happen to me about the 6 month time frame. I went and had some testing and sure enough I was anemic and my blood sugar was really out of wack. I am now doing great just make sure I eat at regular intervals. I hope you have such an easy solution. I would suggest getting a work up done from your doc. That way you can rule out anything serious. Good luck!

Hello! I went on a cruise a couple of months after being banded and it went fine. I did have to be careful not to overeat and I stayed away from the buffet's but we went to the dining room for all three meals. I just didn't have an appetizer and when my meal arrived I cut it in half. I did speak to the maitre'd about making sure they knew I didn't want any pasta's or rice put on my plate. They were pretty accomadating. I also didn't have any bread. We also didn't use the elevator's at all! That is where I was successful. I did eat dessert every evening but all those stairs helped to come off of a seven day crusie 2 pounds lighter. All of our other cruises I always gained a minimum of 10 pounds! Enjoy your cruise and have fun! I am soo jealous I want to go on another cruise! What is your favorite cruise line? Our last cruise was on Norwegian and I would never do that again. I am not a freestyle cruise fan. I found out I like structure to much lol. -
Thanks Apples :crying: I really felt terrible for letting my anger get the best of me. I usually don't let that happen. This was really the first time I have had to deal with someone so obviously anti band and I admittedly didn't handle it well. I am sticking to this thread and the share ideas what you eat thread. Nice and safe. LOL.. I woke up this morning thinking I should cancel my account, if I can't respond appropriately I shouldn't be on here. Hubby said " that support group means to much to you" and he was right. So I am still here.

Happy Sunday Junies.. Hunzi! congrats and good luck!!!!! Strike, nice to see you girl! Have fun with your babies. Vz- sounds like you are keeping busy. Sometimes things happen just so you can get some quality ME time! Apples, I haven't tried the seven for mankind yet but will. Lucy- I hope you had an enjoyable dinner with your dad. Long, I was on the thread to see what erosion really was and it definetly wasn't what i thought it was. I unfortunately got involved in a conversation I shouldn't have and boy did I learn my lesson. I just was pissed because I thought the doctor was really nice and informative to post in a thread and he got slammed for it. It made me mad and I impulsively posted when I was mad. LOL. I realized I am so pro band that when people aren't it makes me mad. It kind of felt like someone picking on my kids LOL. I took it personally and I shouldn't have. I am staying out of that thread from now on. lol. Just because it has done so much for me doesn't mean that it is the right choice for everyone. :crying: God sure gave me a kick in the pants for that one. I hope everyone has a great Monday!

You made my point for me  I have been wondering if you possibly have an agenda here. You say your dh is a doctor and you are a nurse is it possible you work in Mexico? I also notice there is no picture of you at all. Not before not after. I dont hide behind a cartoon character. You see who I am, You see my results, You see my name. What do they call the false posters on here oh that's right TROLLS. I also note that you say you worked your butt off to get to goal. If you could do all you say you can then why dear did you need the band or the sleeve at all. You sure talk a big game but as of yet I see nothing substantial that you have posted. All I see is someone hiding behind words. I am a lapbander and post on lapbandtalk.com. You see my results, you see my name. Good luck to you on your "Journey", until I see some real proof that you aren't some "marketing director for a hospital in Mexico" I am the one who is laughing.

Lol Long you are too funny. It was so nice to see your post. I was just on lapband erosion thread and man are there some negative people out there! Nice to read a friendly post! I hope you have a great weekend!
-
Man you must be a blast to hang out with! You seem to be a very defensive and abrasive person. Just look at all your posts you attack anyone with a different opinion than yours. By the way I am guessing you have no idea about the travel alert for Mexico? Oh wait, I am sure you will reply with statistics for how unsafe america is. You really are sounding anti-american. Also you met goal in 10 months with what? Hmm it was the band wasn't it? I get that you didn't like the band. You have made that clear. We get it. You continuously post the same information over and over. My personal opinion with the stats to back it up is that the band is a great alternative to getting a drastic surgical step where you lose part of your stomache. I am pro lapband and I do know what I am talking about since #1 I am a lapbander. #2 I have lost 117 pounds in 9 months. #3 I did plenty of research beforehand and knew that I wanted a tool not a fix. Please do us all lapbanders a favor and stop attacking everyone or leave. I am sure I am not the only one that thinks your response to posts are ridiculously immature. Just in case you missed it www.gastricsleevesupport.com. :tongue_smilie:
