Hey Brett's Mommy~ Congrats on your decision! I too could not lose on conventional diets and I have to say I am not on a diet now. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and I know I am a better mom because of it! I wish you many pounds lost and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!

Back and Just Had My Two Year Band-aversary!
allielee replied to LoriPA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
great job you look fantastic! -
Hey there.. I have had this happen to me as well, a couple of suggestions I have are.. try 2 days of liquids, 2 days of mushies.. or try and increase excercize time but lower the resistance part. You might also try increasing your caloric intake. Some times your body thinks it is in starvation mode and won't let any of the weight go. If you add calories your body sometimes will let you lose. I did these 3 things at different plateau times and they worked for me. I hope that helps and good luck!!!

the GNC whey protein banana cream is really yummy. I throw a scoop in with 8 oz skim milk and to me it tastes like a banana milkshake.. mmmmm

Hey there, I had these same questions pre band.. I ended up telling everyone.. I did it at first to hold myself accountable. By telling everyone I felt I had to really step up and follow the band rules. I wanted to be thin as fast as possible. I have to tell you it worked for me. I also have to say that now I tell everyone because I know they probably already figured it out. To lose over a 120 pounds in less than ten months would be really hard to do without surgery. I try to not tell people but I end up blurting it out. I am not embaressed about it and have not had one negative response. I say whatever makes you comfortable is what you should do. I told my hubby what my weight was at the beginning. I figured that way he could Celebrate with me as I lost. I started at 305 so let me tell you it was tough telling him. But it is so exciting now that I am almost to goal weight. He is super proud! I wish you much success and know that there is no wrong way of doing it. You do what feels right for you. It really doesn't matter in the end if you tell people or not as long as you end up healthy and happy!

hey jennifer.. my hubby was born and raised in Bedford, Va.. I can not live there though.. way to Andy Griffith for me.. :crying: most likely it will be near a naval base since he is looking for a government job. He was checking out Norfolk, gloucester and I think it was richmond. How do you like living in Richmond. That is right in the middle between Bedford and Norfolk right?

Hey Joann.. It's so weird you put that scripture in your post. I have that scripture pinned up on my desk at work. It amazes me how God works. For years we have said that we wanted to move out of Connecticut, but we both had such great paying jobs it would be tough to leave.. well, now with me part time and down about 20 grand a year and Danny's job in jeopardy, we talked today about maybe this is God's plan to give us the push to move. So my hubby is looking for a job in North Carolina or Virginia. If it is God's plan we will be out of here! I would stay until our youngest daughter Jenna graduated from high school next year but then she is off for college. This maybe the door God opened for us. So I am excited that maybe this is what we had wanted all along. I am so glad your hubby is on his way to getting banded!! Great job Joann!!!!! xoxo

hey there... well, I have a friend who was supposed to be banded the week before me and she didn't follow the pre op diet as strictly as she definetly should have and when they got in there to put in her band they couldn't do it. Her liver was to large. She had lost weight but not enough. So she had the surgery but didn't receive the band. I had a tough time but stuck to the preop diet. I lost alot in those two weeks and it was pure hell but worth it when I knew that I would be getting banded. I hope that gives you the inspiration to NOT CHEAT.

Hey Junies.. So, the past couple of days have been tough.. my hubby just found out that his job is being eliminated. We don't know exactly when but it is coming. His boss said they are trying to get him another position but there is no guarantee. With me going to part time and now this, I am stressing out. I know it will be ok. I have faith. I hope all of you Junies are doing good. I didn't have a chance to read any posts so forgive me if I miss something. Have a great weekend! xoxo

congrats on getting your date!!!
-
hey there.. I am definetly not an expert so this is just my 2 cents.. I have lost 122 pounds and I do have some loose skin, yes enough that I will need to have some surgery. When I was at my heaviest I thought how gross is that, loose skin bleck.. I would rather be fat.. but honestly now that I am here, I would much rather have loose skin.. with clothes on I think I look pretty good. Without not so much but honey without clothes before I lost the weight.. BAHHHH.. so I have changed my mind. So if some loose skin is worrying you, I would recommend you look forward to it
