I had surgery may 21. Luckily no real pain. Stopped taking pain killers night of surgery. I have no idea why mine was so easy. I got my stitches out today and feel fantastic. I'm sorry you are still hurting! That's sucks!!!!

Thanks ladies! Just got my stitches out and damn that hurt!! 10 days was way to long. My skin had grown over them. Eek. Needless to say I said a few curse words lol but they are out. Now we are on the hour and a half ride home. My doc gave me a ton of free stuff to take home too. Lots of new protein shakes and vitamins to try. I don't have to go back for 6 weeks woohoo! Also they told me I can eat like a normal person again haha no more puréed food for this chick! Still no baby but at her appt she was 1 cm dialated and thinned out so any time now!!! Yipeeee! -

Today I get my stitches out!! Woohoo! Man I can hardly wait. The top incision is right on my bra line and the stitches keep being pulled. I know most don't have stitches but because of my tummy tuck my skin was to tight to use glue or internal stitches. So that means tonight I get to go in my hot tub! Woohoo! I have been stalled in weight loss for a couple days. Still down 20 since surgery date 5/21 so I figure my body must think I'm dying and trying to hold on to everything lol. I keep running to the bathroom hoping today is the day I drop some more lol. It is crazy how obsessed I have become with my scale. I hate the f*cker yet I can't stay away from it. Well I hope everyone has a fabulous day! I am waiting inpatiently for my daughter to call she is due with our first grand baby!! It's a girl and her name is Harper Claire. I can hardly wait to hold her! I hope everyone has a great day and those of you who are still hurting I pray today is a pain free day! -
Chickflynbyu congrats!!!!! Hope you are feeling great!

The kind I got are the amplified wheybiloc extreme 60 from gnc 280 calories for 3 scoops which is 60 grams of protein, 7 grams carbs, 2 gram sugar. I know 280 seems a lot but that's 60!!! Grams of yummy protein lol banana cream is my favorite!! I do mix it with other crystal light flavors too. -

I bought the banana cream gnc whey protein the advanced one which is really good. I put 3 scoops in 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk, 2 orange rise walmart crystal light packs and shake it up.. Add ice and it's delicious. Orange banana shake and it's 60 grams of protein takes me about an hour to two to drink it but I get all my protein in.. -
Elizabeth, try to look at it this way.. Yes there are risks but I bet the risks of staying at a BMI of 56 are much higher than bypass risks. That's why it's called morbidly obese . It will kill you. Bypass will give you the opportunity to start a new better life. A life with the morbidly removed. I know wls saved my life.. I was morbidly obese and now I am living my life to the fullest. I started with lapband but now have bypass I wish I had just done bypass.. Good luck and remember even walking down the street has risks. Start googling benefits of bypass and I know those outweigh the risks ten fold. Hope that helps!!!

Good morning may peeps! I am 9 days post op from band to bypass.. Feeling great and down 20.2 pounds yes I am counting the .2 lol.. I feel great except for a nagging pain on my right side which started a couple days ago. Other than that I'm great! Luckily I am a domestic goddess so stay home lol today I am off to some shopping for friends parties this weekend. I fit into a dress I had bought and couldn't fit into pre surgery woohoo! I just can hardly wait to get into my clothes that I wore before I had to gain the 50 to have the surgery.. Yep I had to gain 50 ugh lol it only took a couple months lol crazy how fast you can gain and how hard it is to lose. I hope everyone is doing well. I am still taking miralax every day and I really am so glad I am.. Have a great weekend my May peeps! -
I had lapband and had to be revised. I thought I wanted the sleeve but since I am self pay my doc said go for the rny bypass when I asked why he said bypass has a better rate of success and a lot of times sleeve is step one of bypass. They get sleeves then bypass.. I was like oh no I'm done with wls surgeries this has to be my last.. Just my 2 cents..

Scars from lap band & a Tummy Tuck
allielee replied to Missy41's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I used mederma and I think it made a huge difference they are very light. My tummy tuck scar is below my bikini line yep I wear a bikini! I just was revised from band to bypass so have some new scars but will be using mederma again.. Tummy tuck was awesome and I love my new belly button -
Wow this is a familiar story.. I was banded in 2008 and was one of the lucky ones it worked for me. Lost all just weight 120 pounds in 9 months.. Had all my plastics was doing great for 5&1/2 years then BAM! I constantly threw up, had acid reflux, constantly foaming even with an unfill. My doc said most bands are failing after 5 years and he is not doing them anymore! Ugh! I was a self pay. So on May 21, 2014 I had revision from lapband to RNY. 1 surgery. Self pay again.. Doc said everything looked great, no slips.. It was only 3 hours of surgery. I actually had a great experience. It was the easiest surgery I ever had! Went home the next day. Haven't had really any pain just sore. I am down 18 pounds as of yesterday and what a difference.. I don't feel like I have something stuck in my throat anymore!! I'm disappointed my band failed me but so happy to never have to worry about another fill. Wish I chose this at the beginning! I think every persons recovery is different. I found the lapband surgery to be 20x worse than this lol maybe I had to do with being 70 pounds heavier than I am now.. I'm not sure. I had a laproscopically hysterectomy in oct and that was really rough too. So maybe god just thought ahh I'll give her a break this time lol or should I say my hubby a break since I'm such a baby lol so here is to all of us new, old and future RNYers!

Lady Kate I was also may 21! I too have diarrhea every day but I am thinking is all the fat leaving my body lol I'm sorry you had such a tough time. Try and hang in there. I would rather have diarrhea than constipation right now for sure!! I've had that after surgery and it's terrible.. You are not alone and you will soon be so happy again. ???? -
Don't be nervous.. I had the band removed and revised on May 21 and even though I'm only a week out I can already tell a HUGE difference and I mean a wonderful one!! I actually was successful with the band but threw up everyday.. Was constantly sliming. I don't have those issues at all anymore. I feel like a normal person just I am NEVER hungry and I haven't thrown up since day of surgery! I am still on liquids but it's much easier to drink now. I'm down 18 lbs as of yesterday. Still in bed so haven't weighed today lol. Please let me know if you have any questions!! I can tell you this surgery for me was way easier than the band surgery.. Not sure if taking 3/4 bottle of miralax day before surgery to clean out is the reason but I can say it helped lol no BM issues this time whatsoever! You got this and so happy for you.. I was a big band advocate until now I would Always deter from the lapband now this is soooo much better!!

Hey junies! I was done in May but want to give ya a few tips.. I suggest taking 3/4 bottle of miralax morning before surgery.. Clean yourself out good.. Most issues are with BM after surgery by doing that it's one less painful issue.. Also have the following at home for when you get there: Gas x strips or chewables Unisom strips (I don't sleep well) Bottle with a Snap lid so you can sip through the night.. Some suggest a heating pad (I'm in meno hell no) Comfy loose clothing I can't wear a bra since one of the Owies is on my bra line just an FYI Crystal light all different flavors Sf pops Broths For the hospital I suggest: Phone charger with extension cord Chapstick Loose clothing Slippers Baby wipes and all shower essentials (I showered the morning after at the hospital) When you get out of surgery WALK!! You will appreciate why.. Walking helps release the gas.. Also while in bed turn from side to side thoroughout your stay. Do not stay on your back. Yes you can sleep on your side.. It's a smidge uncomfortable at first but the gas just comes out easily by going back and forth. Ok I hope that helps everyone. Wish someone had told me lol good luck!!!

Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
allielee replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Holy Sh*t balls!! That girl is off the hook jealous and in denial. I've been morbidly obese and I have been thin, there is NO comparison thin is better. I was happy as a fat person but every fat person wishes they were thin. It's a disease! I am so much happier being thinner.. I feel confidant and I know no one is judging me or laughing at me.. People actually are excited to meet me. Any fat person who thinks they are perfectly fine are lying.. They have just given up. I know. It's exhausting.. I was 300 pounds. I thought I was fine. I knew I wasn't. You need to surround yourself with positive people and babe she sure isn't one. Sorry you had to get such a nasty email I am sure that had to really hurt. Be proud of the choice you made! You will look back on that email and look at your new life and laugh at how ridiculous she is.. Good luck and pm me if you need any help! ❤️ -
So my tip for pre op is cleaning yourself out day before.. I took 3/4 bottle of miralax day before surgery (in the morning) .. First surgery where after wards I didn't have constipation pain or worry about a BM. I started with 1/2 cap full 3 days after surgery and things are going very well. Highly recommend! I take it every day now and wow what a difference in how I feel all around! I'm 6 days post op and down 18 pounds. Hope this helps someone!

any ideas on how to battle loose skin in the mid section
allielee replied to clowntrigger2k's topic in The Guys’ Room
I had a tummy tuck after losing all my weight with the lapband (had to get revised to bypass may 21) but I got a tummy tuck and honestly it was worth EVERY DAMN PENNY! Lol I loved not having to wear spanx, having a flat tummy, no skin fold irritation and best thing looking decent in a bikini! Yes a bikini! It gave me so much confidence. It was less than the price of a new car and as my hubby says he will get many more miles out of me than some car lol! I suggest saving your penny's from all the $ you will save on food! -
