    I was denied!

There is an appeal process. They call it peer to peer. But once you do that and if they deny again then it is final. No surgery at all.

    I was denied!

The funny thing is while I was doing my visits I asked her several times about weight loss. And she kept telling me not to worry about weight loss. That I need to learn and practice how to eat after surgery. That was what our visits were about. Not loosing weight. That's what the surgery is for. That's why I am doing this, to help me lose this extra weight.

    I was denied!

I thought the same thing. Insane!! But yes I gained 2 lbs and got denied. The insurance company was very rude and said that there was no excuse for that.

  6. I am waiting also. How long did you wait before calling them?
  7. Wednesday was my last visit out of 6, to the nutritionist before submitting to insurance. The last consult went great and I had a lot of my questions answered. Now I am just waiting for insurance. I hope they tell me something soon. Before I left, my nutritionist gave me a bag of goodies with coupons, the calorie king mini book and lots and lots of samples of the Vitamins that I will be taking. They were lots of different flavors. I took the Iron pill and about 30 minutes later, I felt my stomach getting sour and have this nasty taste in my mouth. I wasn't sure if it was that or not so I took another one the next night and sure enough, my stomach got sour again. I read up on iron pills and it said that it can cause diarrhea, and an upset stomach. Did anyone else have this problem? If so what can I do to relieve this nasty taste when i take it? Thanks

    Blender

I was looking into getting a blender. I seen the Nutrabullet and I fell in love with it. Has anyone had experience with it? And do you think it would be something that would help during the pre op and post op stages?

    Feeling Relieved

I am. Thank you for the fingers and toes being crossed. I go for my 6 month nut visit on August 13th. My last one before submitting to insurance. Shortly after that I will find out my surgery day. I can't wait to start on my 2 week liquid diet. That should be an adventure. I am so excited, expecially after reading such great stories like yours. I wish you well on your journey.

    Blender

I seen the baby food blender also. I love the small cups too. The Nutrabullet has these huge cups that I think is unnecessary, because of the amount of food we will consume. If you make a lot and put it in the fridge for later, will it still be good?

    Blender

Great! I was actually looking at the 600 watt model and fell in love. I didn't know about the Pro 900 series. I bet that thing will blend up just about anything. I will definitely be getting myself one. How does it do with ice?

I received my pen pal and wrote to her to get her address. I sent out her box of goodies, but I never received an email asking me my address.

Insurance to pay for protein shakes

I have a question about Premier Shakes. My doctor says that I need to make sure that my protein shakes have whey protein isolate as the first ingredient. Like iso pure and bariatric advantage and unjury. Premier's first ingredient has whey protein concentrate, which she told me to stay away from. Does anyone know the difference? Will insurance pay for any other protein shakes other than premier?

    Are their protein shakes good?
  20. Just wondering if there were anyone else on here from my area. The Northeast Georgia area.
  21. I went to the required "one" also. I hated it. I was looking for a way to get out. Then I heard that Dr. Walfish has going to be at the next one, so I went. Did you see him? It was a really good meeting. After that one, I was hooked. I've been several other times. You should give it another chance. I feel not so alone after going to one. Maybe I will see you there.

    Hairloss question

I am having my surgery soon and read that I may lose some hair. I am worried about that because I use to have thick hair. I lost a lot because of uncontrolled diabetes. It is very thin on top. After surgery I am afraid that I will be even thinner on top. How do you suggest I cover that and still look stylish.
