michellew1 replied to Dabliss111114's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Best wishes to you too. I am pretty scared too. But mostly excited. Excited to finally be healthy. I try to stay away from all the negative feedback on here. It will just get you down. And I like to stay positive. -
November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

Hello Dabliss111114. Yes lets Buddy up! I love it! How weird is it that we are about the same height and weight and we have close surgery days. We were just destined to be surgery friends. I am on day 3 of my FULL liquid diet. You are so lucky, I want a piece of chicken so bad right now. It is weird because I still have ice cream and by birthday cake still in the fridge. I don't want any of that, all I want right now is just a tiny bite of chicken, just a small piece. LOL. But I will get through this. I made some Jello earlier, hopefully that will give me some other flavor in my mouth. I have to aim for at least 1000 calories a day and 70 grams of protein a day and drink 64 oz o Water a day. I thought I would be spending my whole day peeing too but I haven't. We can make it these two weeks. Lets chat anytime -

Lucky, lucky you that you don't have to go on the two week liquid diet. I am on day 3 and I want a piece of chicken or something. The shakes are hard to get down. I am hanging in there though. I just made some sugar free Jello, maybe that will help me with having something else. I have already started my vitamins and they are really good. They are like my little treats throughout the day. I am going to try the chicken broth tonight for dinner. I just got back from the grocery store for my family and it was kinda hard just buying for the three of them. But I will get the hang of it. Good luck and keep me up to date on everything your way. -

My surgery date is November 11th, with Dr. Robert Richard, in Gainesville, Georgia. I am on my second day of the 2 week liquid diet and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I would love to meet and chat with someone who has the same surgery date as me. -
My surgery date is November 11th. It is great to see some others with the same date.

Thank you to everyone who kept there fingers crossed for me. Thanks for being there for me as I whined about getting denied. Just think... In 2 weeks I will have my surgery and I couldn't be more excited. I started my 2 week liquid diet today. All I can say is wow...but I can do this...I can do this because I want this, I need this. Good luck to everyone. I will keep you up to date on everything.

Happy birthday. I had my last birthday on October 24 also. I am so excited to look into the future and say that by my next birthda. I will be able to fit into some cute stylish clothes. Good luck

I think they just need to give the insurance an experienced surgery date.
-
Yes the wait is driving me crazy! !

I was trying to get things ready for my liquid diet. I can have some sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles and sugar free fudgesicles. Is there a brand that you could recommend? I just don't normally like that fake sugar taste and I don't want to waste my money. Thanks

I am still waiting for insurance. They did tell me that November 11 would be my expected surgery day if they approve. That means that I will have to hear something soon because I will have to start my liquid diet on the 27th. I am nervous too. Good luck and keep me updated. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

I had BLUE Cross for 13 years and loved them very much, but they changed insurance at work, so I had to change to Aetna.
-
Thanks KSTUZ for keeping your fingers crossed for me. I have my fingers and toes crossed as well. I am so happy you got approved. My doctor was thinking of fighting but said that if they fought and still lost, then it was final. That they wouldn't ever approve me. I didn't want that. She submitted everything again on Monday, so we will see how everything goes. I am so anxious to find out something.

Congratulations

I had my last weigh in yesterday. I lost another 2 lbs. Everything was submitted to insurance again. Now we wait. Keep your fingers crossed that they approve the surgery. Oh and I just realized that today would have been my surgery day.

Pre-op 6 month diet plan
michellew1 replied to jasminebsn3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Aetna and had to go through the 6 month nutritional visits. I finished in September and had an expected surgery date of October 14th. Everything was submitted to insurance. I got denied because I had gained 2 lbs...yes 2 lbs...back six months ago. But after that one of gain, I lost 22 lbs. I still was denied. So now I am having to go another two months so they can submit again. Please make sure they don't require weight loss. Please call your insurance company yourself to find out. Because my nutritionist told me not to worry about losing weight, that I needed to focus more on how to eat after surgery. I go for my, hopefully, last weigh in on the 13th. I wish you lots of luck. -
Yay!! I lost 3 more pounds. One more visit and then it is all in the insurance's hands.
-
I am having trouble with my password too. Only on my phone. It says that it isn't correct, but it works on the computer.
-
Thanks. I will do that.
-
Yes. I have to weigh in on Monday and then again in October then I can submit everything again. Hopefully I have lost more this month. Every time I go to the bathroom I weigh myself. And it is always different.

I am glad they were up front with you. Mine didn't worry about weight loss, just that I didn't miss an appointment.
