Hi! Congrats on your date... I hear you, I just got my date for 9/8.. And I was driving to work thinking and saying all these things to myself, I'm high and low, crazy thoughts, but I know that if I came this far and six months of preparing and insurance requirements, I'm doing this! -
Husband says No to me having surgery!
nonnax2 replied to Mich4351's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband also was against my decision, I had brought him to a seminar and planned on the band! After consultation with surgeon changed my mind to sleeve, that made him very anxious and against surgery . So I was determined to follow through and after almost 6 months of waiting for an approval from insurance he is coming to terms with it and even going with me to my final visit with surgeon tomorrow, I think he felt I could do it on my own,but I'm sooooo tired of this battle of up and down and I'm ready! I'm so glad In a way to see this post it really helps me not to feel alone! Positive thoughts and wishes for you all! -

I'm very happy with the switch, sleep study done and very surprised that the apnea is severe' endoscopy next month all is moving along ! I'm sure we will be here together going through this journey, it's a great comfort to come here and be around people who understand:) -

Proper Calorie Intake while VERY Active
nonnax2 replied to mommymaverick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Wow..... I have been on the fence between the Band and the Sleeve, the first surgeon I saw discouraged me from having the band.. I had insurance issue and I am in the process of switching surgeons and Im sched next week with her. My BMI is 36 but I have severe sleep apnea and on Lipitor, so that clears me for the surgery. I can understand your frustration doing all that you can working hard and following the routine with not much success!!! Everytime I think Im going towards the band I read a post like this and have to wonder....The best to you sounds like you have a good doctor and you are in good hands. -
Today is my one year Bandiversary!

Hi Micky , I'm new here as well I'm sche'd for Aug 23... I'm meeting with my nutritionist this week, welcome I'm sure we will be keeping in touch..... This site is very helpful! Good luck on your journey

Hi Everyone! I had a consult with a surgeon who told me I'm better off with the sleeve due to its success, I'm so confused I have a BMI of 36 but have severe sleep apnea and I'm boarderline for blood pressure. I have changed doctors due it staff and insurance issues and I have another consult this month and meeting with another nutritionist. I'm reading the post here and see that there are a lot of success stories..... Interesting......

Thank you to all of you, I feel the same way as far as this whole process and change of life, for me I know it's all mental with dieting and I know no matter which surgery I choose it's a TOOL! I was leaning towards the band for all the reasons you mentioned. I'm meeting with the nutritionist on Tuesday and the surgeon next week, already had some drama and stress since I had to switch surgeons due to an insurance issue that came out of the blue and that's a long story so since I have already started some of the process it carries over to the next surgeon, planning on August 25th, and going to see if this doctor discourages me for Lap Band! She practices in Columbia Presbyterian in the CIty and at Valley. Thanks again
