I really worried about these awful scars. I had had surgery before no problem but this looks like beginning keloid. Can I expect the stitches still need to dissolve inside then it will go back? I do NOT like this and I may need skin surgery down the road. If you have not had keloids in the past why would it show up this time?

I have had surgery before and the scars healed very good but I'm VERY concerned this time.... I'm afraid I may be getting those raised keloid scars at the small incision sites... I hope these are internal stitches that will dissolve but I am really worried. Those scars are horrendous and if I need plastic surgery later for lose skin, I could REALLY he screwed. I am worried.

OK.... Now I know. I had my sleeve one full week today and made a protein shake with chocolate powder, yogurt, vanilla cappuccino protein shake, a spoon full of mocha and 1/4 cup of coffee flavored gelato.... why did I do that? The whole fabulous concoction would be rich for someone with a WHOLE stomach pre-surgey but my little healing tummy lost it's mind! Four little swallows shaky, nervous and SICK. OMG. Was that dumping? It was bad. Wow...that will keep you honest. I had done so well all week.

I have May 19th set. I'm excited about it but also a little scared

Hey Dawn. Surgery went great home after one night. A little gas pain but walking helped BUT today I made a chocolate protein shake and got sick... just 3 swallows but it was just too rich. Better now but some stomach cramps. I think its because my stomach is empty

Thanks.... I think after my stomach settled the shock kinda hit me about how all this real will change my life.

Hang in there... I am just a 6 days out and I hope you're better and home soon. -
I hope I in no way made you feel unsupported... I may have said it badly but I understand people are human and no one can stay restricted like this forever. I believe deprivation will lead to failure you have yo have some food pleasures because that is normal and natural. I think you have done great by recognizing you getter away from your plan. I will be thrilled if I can drop 80 pounds in 5 months. Basically I'm on your side and did not mean to sound critical. This s##t is hard.

Please Tell Me It Gets Better
MAJIQUE replied to LaurieC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I found thus feed. I was doing so well for the first 5 days drinking liquid just fine then this morning I made a far too rich chocolate protein shake and I got sick. It was little painful and VERY scary. Terrible feeling nausea and nervous sweaty.... all over three swallows of a rich drink. I was waiting for the shoe to fall and it did. Now I am short on water today and only had the courage to eat a little cream of chicken and mushroom soup. I'm also a sleepy zombie in the day and up all night, just mixed up. No regrets just a little mini misery. Not my happy self. -
Off to the hospital again... :(

I hope you get better soon and for good -
I agree this was a huge step. I just had surgery last Monday 5-19, and although tough love is good sometimes, many people were risking death had they not done something; But we are people and the short time I have been on the no cheating track it's certain I could not maintain this level of restriction forever. Complete deprivation was probably the ruin of many of our past failures. I guess what I'm saying is if after 5 relatively short months and 80 lbs down, I think the recognition of the danger and seeking help is a sign of learned discipline and continued commitment. Do talk with the nut, find some suitable "cheats", keep it small, and build it into your diet once or twice a week. Key will be not having bad stuff on hand in any measurable quantity. I know just a week this is just my two cents but I know people are not perfect but it seems to me a controlled, planned splurge, on occasion is easier to manage that a meltdown from human frustration and frailty.

No courage for any of that and I had no BBQ temptation around. I stayed in.

Wow... I'm glad I found this feed. I too cannot WAIT to have boob shrinkage. I have had huge ones forever with permanent shoulder marks and all. I'm 46G and would kill to be in the C cup world. I'm just one week post op so I know I have a long way but I wish they would go first.

Hey Valentine.... I am glad your surgery went well. Sorry about the nerves. Try to stay calm and eat mild, non rich liquid. I had a really sweet chocolate concoction that made me sick for the first time so I was a little panicky. After the sickness passes I was back to myself but it would have been worse with real anxiety.

8 Months Out and 122 Down!

I had my surgery now and I prey can do as good a job as you have. Wish me luck on my week 2. -
How are you holding up Dawn? We're still here for you. I had my surgery and so far so good. I hope you are well
-
Hey Diva.... I had my surgery 5-19 and I'm still on the wagon. No smokes. I'm hopeful but realistic too.... I have smoked a little over 20 years and have quit three times before twice for about a year and always cold turkey, but I swear the only thing harder is cutting sweets and bread. Everybody has trouble and I'm no different but I'm getting too old to be unhealthy. I can't bounce back like I used to. Hand in there and we'll hold each other up. BTW my sleeve went great I hope no problems crop up later. I'm trying to follow the rules but I'd LOVE to have a slice of cake.... oh well I guess I'll just settle for a nice sweet protein shake

TWO DAYS POST OP AND ALL IS WELL!
MAJIQUE replied to CrisH64's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel pretty good now 7 days out. Seems like I get indigestion when anything hits my stomach but I work through it because I know dehydration can land you back in the hospital. Thank God I haven't felt much true hunger. Hope that sticks. -
How did the 5-19 club do? I am really still amazed at how well mine went. The best news is I went home off all diabetes meds and I was doing 4 shots a day. I pray that sticks that was one of the primary reasons I did this because of my health problems.
-
You can do it.... try to stop the smokes some doctors will postpone you for that because it can complicate your healing... I quit a month in advance and have kept it up. My surgery went great and I feel pretty good. Take care

June 9th Sleeve - Looking for friends!
MAJIQUE replied to IfICanDream's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You guys will do great. I had so many mixed emotions and was terrified of the pain. I had my sleeve last Monday and everything went perfect. I was home after one night and I swear I have had maybe 12 total hours of pain... which was really all gas and feeling like indigestion. Walking really helps the gas and sleeping propped up works for me. I'm glad I went through with this I am off insulin and high blood pressure meds and will be on soft food in two weeks. It will be OK.
