3 month post op holiday stall
mercy96 replied to mercy96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Elode @nursmate2 thank you ladies! Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch, gym after work~! And I wish Water was easier to get down than snack foods lol -
I have two sister in laws (one on each side of the family) that gossip and talk trash about people (me, my mom, anyone with a pulse), even eachother. My surgery is in two months and I am wondering how significant weight loss may make me the talk of the family. I was bullied as a child and have a hard time dismissing this kind of stuff. My husband is nonchalant and says they will hate on you fat or skinny. How do you postops cope? Thanks
-
Hi, my surgery will be on Oct 1st! Yay! I have a question for you postops. Did you find better employment opportunities/promotions after significant weightloss? And do you attribute it to weight loss or attitude? thanks

How did you all make it at home the first two weeks with small children?

Also....I did cook for him while I was on liquids. I didnt feel too bad about it. I made eggs, sandwiches, quesadillas....anything for our children, right? -

I have a 2 year old. He broke his leg 10 days after my surgery and wound up at the ER. But I did have my husband around for a week and my mom. I did carry him at times because he couldnt walk for a week. Not great advice but I really recovered quick. Not that my surgeon would want to hear I lugged my two year old around. He did get used to Grandma carrying him instead of me and stopped whining about it. I wish you good luck! -
I can eat a whole egg with a sprinkle of cheese for Breakfast. lunch is a Protein shake. And dinner say half a can of salmon with mayo and a slice of avocado. I'm sure this is between 500-600 calories a day. During the liquid phase I was having 320 calories a day and felt faint a few times. Some people say they are stuffed after 2-3 bites or want to vomit. But I dont. We do need some calories...right?

mercy96 replied to Aribay1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a vegetarian but I ate a lot of junk. I eat meat and ate a lot of junk. I would love to try again now that I know more about nutrition. Lets all start a group -

Success W/post-Op Breastfeeding
mercy96 replied to Singlemama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my surgery will be on Oct 1st and I am still breastfeeding my 24 month old. Little one is not ready to wean and I am not going to force him. Breastfeeding and caring for my son only motivates me more to be healthy and stay hydrated -
The only chewable multis I see in stores are for kids, cant I just crush the ones I have?

I have always been obese and I feel being this way has prevented me from success. Its also made me a bit socially awkward. I never regretted anything life but as my Oct 1 surgery date approaches I regret not doing anything worthwhile. Why didnt I study nursing? Why didnt I join the army? Why cant I climb Mt. Everest? I am married and a mother. My child is the best thing thats ever happened to me but I feel like such a loser lately. I want to use this life changing surgery for the best but its putting me on an emotional rollercoaster. I just needed a place to rant and rave.

Its perfectly normal. We need a little extra considering where are "button" is. I took an anthropology class and learned that happened because we stand on two feet. I learned that some species of primates have their clitoris much closer to their opening.

So I went to my initial intake appointment with a nurse and apparently I am BARELY a BMI of 40. She suggested I not get too crazy with exercise and not lose weight. My orientation and surgeon consult are in a few weeks. I forgot to ask but Im dying to know...does everyone have to do the six month diet before surgery? The nurse said I shouldn't lose any weight, even by surgery date for insurance purposes. Perhaps I heard wrong? Of course, I was a dummy and I forgot to ask more questions. I have anthem bc ppo. Anyone else here barely qualify? Comments appreciated
