    Heartburn from HELL

I get it pretty bad, but the Prilosec helps if I take it every day. Maybe ask your surgeon to prescribe you some prescription strength Nexium?
  2. 100 lbs in 3 months!! Good for you! Just keep working your plan and getting your exercise. You have done phenomenally well.

    Muscle cramps

This is most likely your potassium & magnesium. Are you on full liquids yet? banana smoothie should help.
  4. After a meal if I am able to get away I take a 15 minute "burp walk" to work out the gas privately.
  5. Make sure you ask your Dr. about the compression stockings. While I was in the hospital the doc told me that compression stockings can actually cause clots.
  6. I was given two separate lovonox shots within the first 24 hours after surgery.
  7. The whole point of this surgery is to be able to squeeze some more enjoyment out of life, right? How many oz of wine would you have had before? How many strawberries? You're doing great! Way to rock the sorts!
  8. I had surgery on 4/15 and was progressing very well. Back at work, keeping active, losing lbs and enjoying life. Exactly 2 weeks post op I woke up, made my way to the bathroom, sneezed, and felt a searing pain in my right lung. I went to the ER where I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pulmonary-embolism/basics/definition/con-20022849 Scary and painful! The reality is, a PE can be fatal. I spent 3 days in the hospital in extreme pain. I don't know exactly what caused the clots to develop. I do know that the nurse put the squeezy boots on me but never turned them on. She also blew out my vein when flushing my IV. I also binge watched 2 seasons of House of Cards during my recovery. However, I did make sure to get up at least every two hours and take a walk. Who knows. Did anyone else have a complication like this despite keeping active?
  9. Sorry to hear this! Can you ask your surgeon for an anti nausea med?
  10. Hey everyone! I'm so glad I found these forums! I had my sleeve done on 4/15 and I am feeling pretty good. I've lost 14 lbs! Biggest challenge I have found is getting in the amount of liquid I am supposed to be drinking. I can't fit it in. Plain water was making my stomach cramp up, which is totally weird but apparently common with sleeves. I started drinking very watered down Crystal Lite, but I am still only getting in maybe 32 oz instead of the 64 I'm supposed to. First follow up with my surgeon is scheduled for tomorrow. Good luck to all of you!
