After surgery in recovery I was nausea and vomited a few times but they say it's normal. They have me medication for it. After that I was fine. Some people do & some don't. Don't focus on vomiting, stay focused on what you have to do before the surgery. Best wishes to you.

I agree with Kamp.. Do not let anyone discourage you from what you are considering. Who is he to tell you not too? He's not your primary doctor, he's just a heart doctor. Unless you have a serious heart condition I wouldn't listen to him. Find another heart doctor. I think that the only way you will have diarrhea is if you eat something that may not agree with you.

Sassy24.... Things will be just fine. My 1st post op appt was yesterday & I was taken off of 1 blood pressure medicine, my diabetic medication was cut in half. I was so happy! I started this journey at 278, in currently 255.5. Most of my WL was during the liquid stage. During the 6 months I ate like it was the end of the world. Lol, but you will be fine. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

I'm starting full liquids in about a day. What is blenderized soup? What do I buy? Do I buy creamed soups, add broth, & strain it? Confused

Sassy24, thank you for those kind words. All is well. Having a difficult time getting my fluids in. But I am realizing that it is getting a little better & easier each day. I can't stand the taste of the protein drinks. They are horrible to me. But I did like the unjury chicken soup. I'm just about finished with clear fluids & will switch to full in a couple of days. I'm hoping that I get my required protein in during that stage. I will have more of a variety to choose from. Sometimes I feel like didn't prepare myself for this phase. I did buy what I need ed but I didn't taste it before hand.

Crystalsleeve it's very hard to sip. I hate it. But if you drink too fast you will feel the after effects of drinking fast. We have to retrain ourselves to eat & drink. It's a challenge but you will be fine. Take it slow.

KAfallin: I've been walking a lot, using gas x strips & taking pain meds for pain with the incisions & gas. I haven't taken a full dose of pain meds, I take 1 pill crush it very fine & mix well with cold unsweetened applesauce. Stay hydrated. I'm suppose to get in 30cc of Fluid every 30 mins. I woke up & was thirsty. I had 3 30cc in 30 mins. Once I'm on full liquids suppose to increase to 2 every 30 mins. I'm tempted to drink more but I don't want to stretch my sleeve. You will be fine. Walk as much stay hydrated & take it 1 day at a time. I've experienced gas pain before but not on this level. I tried to tolerate the pain in the hospital but I quickly learned to ask for pain meds. Hello everyone!!! First I really want to thank everyone for the support. It's great to know that I can share this experience with people who understand my struggle & not judge me. Surgery was on Wednesday. All I remember is them rolling me to the OR, showing me this huge robot & them saying were giving you happy medicine, I was looking up & the next thing I knew I was in recovery. I threw up a few time from being nauseous. But they gave me some nice pain medication. I was up & walking within a few hrs. The gas pain is horrible. I can deal with the incision pain, but the moving of the gas! OMG!!! Unbelievable! I just took a gas strip. Hopefully it will help. I'm trying to get these fluids in. I couldn't even eat half of a sugar free ice pop. I see my dr on Tuesday & I will be on full fluids I guess for a wk or 2. Taking it 1 day at a time. Slow & steady.
