I must admit, I am an icecreamaholic. I eat it every night, usually while on this site. But if you keep lossing, I don't see where a little treat after eating good all day will hurt. Except that day of Checkers chicken nuggets and fries, opps--did I mention the ice cream cake and chips w/ dip at the party. Nah, not important. We went to eat at Makotos Saturday night (its a japanese steak house where they cook in front of you). What a waste of money. I spent $25 for steak and lobster. I literally was able to eat about 4 bites of the salad, a couple veggies and 1/2 the lobster tail. Leftovers were quite yummy the next day though. I did real good and didn't touch the rice at dinner, but the following day=yum, yum, yum. Forget the 4oz, it must have been atleast double that with all the rice I downed. Then the ice cream I had later. Bad, bad girl--I know.

Thank you for the support. I'll hold off a while on the fill.

If you had the band done in Mexico, I don't know of any dr's willing. Otherwise I think Fusco in Melbourne will. Lifeshape Bariatrics of Melbourne. Good Luck. I believe there is a Dr in Miami that will do Mexico bands--I don't know the name. Look under fills section.

Last week, I too swallowed a piece of gum and freaked out. Luckily no sticky sticky--Lol. I think I'll pass on the gum from here on out.

Hi there. I was banded on June 20th and loving it. I haven't had a fill yet, but I consider it often. Was everyone still lossing weight when they got a fill? And if so, why would you get a fill if you are lossing? I feel like I can definetly eat more than we are supposed to, but still lossing slowly. I'm down 33 pounds in 46 days-- should it be more? I just don't know if I should fill or not. The thought of PBing scares the heck out of me. I'm afraid that if I get a fill I will start PBing or not be able to eat certain foods--any thoughts?

I've had two c-sections. One being 11 weeks prior to banding. No problems. The band procedure is in the upper abdomen, c-section is at your hair line. I've also nursed with the band--still nursing--no problems.

Do some people never need fills? And other mysteries to me!

I have not yet had a fill. I'm okay most days. Don't get me wrong though; I think I eat too much at times, but I keep on lossing. My doctor said as long as your lossing don't worry. I do wonder what that "full feeling" is like. I am satisfied most of the time with eating 4 oz. Only if I eat proteins first (3 oz), then 1oz whatever. I tried california rolls the other day (5=4oz). This was definetly not enough to fill me up. I ended downing a bag of protein pretzels to feel full. I do exercize daily. I try to walk atleast a mile a day with the kids. No weight training or treadmill though--they do make lovely decorations in my bedroom however. I make sure to dust weekly and say I really should--naaahh. I do agree that without the band I would not be able to keep off or be able to eat such small quantities. I love my band! I am quite surprized that I have lost weight without a fill---go figure. -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

The only before and after pics I have-- always hiding behind someone. -
I need some advise. I have had a few dizzy spells lately. Today was bad though. I was driving my parents to the airport and suddenly felt like I was in a third dimension. I had to pull over on the highway and let my dad drive. Luckily I was fine after about 15 minutes and managed to make the hour drive home with no problems. This happened to me last week while driving with my two kids also. Scared the hoot out of me. I'm wondering if my body is not getting enough of certain foods or nutrients. I'm still nursing and only taking in around 1000 calories a day or really 500 after nursing. Any advise out there? I feel like all I eat is pure protien and no veggies-- can that possibly be the culprit. Low iron maybe??

South Beach Diet has the most wonderful bars. They have chocolate/ peanut butter meal replacement bars w/ 19 grams of protein and 210 calories. They also have breakfast bars w/ 10 grams protein and 140 calories. The cinnamon raisin bars taste like sweet rolls from a bakery--soooo good!

I eat 4 oz three times a day plus a 1-2 oz snack around 4pm and unfortunately I can't seem to cut out the ice cream at night. Still around 1000 calories though. I have been drinking since 6 weeks out of surgery, but the Dr. said I could have been having wine all along.
