  8. I'm 8 weeks out and am a little behind on advancing my diet to normal food because I've been in and out of the hospital, but today I came home and wanted to try something other than frickin yogurt! So I tried some deli turkey meat..it was too dry..I tried some turkey sausage, too dry. I want to hold off on any dark meat. I want to try different fish, shrimp, turkey, but don't know how to prepare them so they aren't too dry help! What are examples if what you guys first started out with in this soft to normal food stage? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
  9. I'm a little over 4 weeks out and I mostly have yogurt, brothy soups, and cottage cheese. Going to brunch tomorrow and I looked at the menu. The only things that seem to be ok for my stage is oatmeal and clam chowder. Would clam chowder be bad to try? Not sure what to do because I can't try it ahead of time at home :/

Going out to eat for the first time..

I haven't tried eggs yet. I've just heard they upset a lot of people's stomach so I'm nervous to try them
  11. I am a month out now (yay!) and am wondering what kind if fruits to have in a smoothie since I'm still in purée stage. I've heard bananas and canned peaches, anything else? Also..the canned peaches I've seen have soooo much sugar! Is there a problem with having fresh cut peaches?! Your input would be much appreciated, thanks!
  12. I had the same issue. It helped if i made sure to walk around throughout the day. It seemed like things wouldn't get as "stuck" that way. You should definitely try some crystal light flavors if you have a problem with plain water. Hope everything gets easier for you soon!

    Late Night Walks Anyone?

That's a great start to your recovery. Walking will help with gas pains too and it's good to start sipping water to stay hydrated! Good luck!

    For the Ladies

I had mine the day after surgery and this month is came right on time! No fun..
  15. Started puréed foods today and blended up some yummy refried beans with just a sprinkle of cheese. I put it in a two oz container and was so excited to eat them. I took two tiny little bites within like 15 minutes and got such a weird feeling in my stomach/chest. Could I really be full???
  16. Was sleeved on April 8th. Just started the puréed phase this week. Beans hasn't worked. Cottage cheese worked at first but now it doesn't! Even cream of chicken, yogurt, and protein shakes(which I normally love) are not going down! With any of these I can maybe get in two bites and then feel super acid reflux-y. It was going fine at first, why is this happening?!

    Pureed food ideas? Help!

My doctor told me that tuna with a little mayo and mustard or whatever seasoning is good. I also just like having a lot if different creamed soups! If you add your own blend if spices it makes them a little more exciting. Also cottage cheese is good and refried beans with some cheese

    peanut butter

I haven't tried it in my puréed stage yet, but jiff whipped peanut butter is to die for! It's a lot lighter

    Full off two bites..really?!?!

Oh don't get me wrong I'm happy that I am full off such a little amount, just didn't think it would make me feel this full! I feel like I just ate a HUGE meal!!

    Full off two bites..really?!?!

Oh my goodness..I really hope this gets better! I hope I don't feel full for so long because I am soooo thirsty! I even waited a full hour after drinking to even start making the beans! Man, I wish it would've gone better

    mourning food

I know exactly how you feel! I got sleeved on the 8th and am on full liquids. I start puréed tomorrow. But the first few weeks I been craving foods that I never even ate before my procedure. It will get better this sounds weird but when I'm feeling hungry or craving real food, I like to look up recipes for the next stage and see all the things I will be able to eat very soon and then it's kind of exciting good luck!

    What's everyone eating post op...!

I'm also in the full liquid diet stage and am able to start puréed tomorrow I have looked a lot at the website called bariatricfoodie. It's a blog with all sorts of recipes that sound absolutely delicious! I also go on Pinterest a lot and there are tons of bariatric friendly recipes on there as well. It makes it exciting to try new things when you have so many recipes to choose from!

    64 oz of liquids daily

I try to just drink until I'm going to bed because I find that if I'm sipping and laying down it doesn't feel too well and can easily come back up. That's just me though good job getting all the liquids in!
