Looking for other July Sleevers! Let's help each other through this journey. I see my surgeon July 1st and if everything goes well my nurse said surgery date of July 14th. I am self pay. I checked into having the sleeve done in Mexico but decided to have it done here in Montana. I have checked into a couple of other places but really love the facility that I will be having it done at. It's been quite an adventure to say the least. I would love to share this time with fellow sleevers.

Finally!!! July 14th is gonna be a great day for new beginnings!

So I found out my surgery got change to July 21st... So bummed but I figure there must be a reason. At least I found out before I started my liquid diet. Now I get to eat at the BBQ!!

When I got my labs back, I also had H. Pylori. I had to take 2 different antibiotics for 2 weeks. I didn't have any problems with the pills at all. Thank goodness!! The drs. Haven't said any more to me about it. From what I read, it's pretty rare for the antibiotics to not work. My surgery date is July 14th. I see my surgeon on July 1st so I will ask him about it then.Good luck on taking the meds.

I decided to do self pay also because I didn't want to wait the year for my insurance company requirements. I have checked a couple of different states as to where to have my surgery done. One hospital wasn't sure they wanted to even do the surgery without insurance. In fact I'm still waiting on the call back from them. I found another hospital that I love even better that it doesn't matter if it's self pay or insurance. In fact, if I pay up front then I get a 15% discount. My surgery is scheduled for July 14th....been waiting on a call from the other hospital since April.

I'm July 14th in Montana!

I am pretty nervous about the 10 day liquid also. On my last visit, I was told that I can have grits, pudding, SF Jello...stuff like that. I have been trying to get my body used to it by drinking my Protein shakes during the day and having just 1 meal in the evening. One day I was really struggling because I was so hungry. I made a package of the chicken Soup sample. I was pleasantly surprised. My hubby even came inside and said it smelled good. I didn't share????. I'm concerned about h-anger. I tend to get grumpy when I'm hungry. By the way....my name is Robin. I am 53 years old. I live in Montana. I have 4 sons and an amazing husband. 1 son still lives at home. I have decided to keep my surgery a secret from most everybody. 3 sons, hubby and just a couple of my closest friends know about it. I plan on telling my other son but he lives in another state and I want to tell him in person. All of my family so far have been very supportive. Other then one has said I'm not big enough to have the surgery. Lol. I have degenerative disk disease, so the weight is just making it that much harder. I am so very excited to have the sleeve. I know a few girls personally that have had it done and all are so happy they have done it.

It looks like I finally get to meet with the surgeon on July 1st. The nurse said July 14th for the surgery date if that works for me. I had lost 5 pounds at my last visit and they want me to lose 5 more before surgery. I'm a little disappointed that my date is later but....it is what it is! I have the same fears. What happens if it doesn't work for me. I hope we get a great support group going here. Any other July sleevers out there?

Hi....I started this journey about a month ago. I am self pay and was just told that the soonest date for surgery would be the first part of July. Pretty disappointed. I guess I just don't understand why it takes that long.
