  1. I'm still considering having my sleeve in Mexico but now I'm leaning towards the states partly because Mexico doesn't use narcotic pain relievers. I'm a baby and I don't do pain. The surgeon in the US said he gives you a pain pump right after surgery and sends you home with liquid lortab. All the Mexican Drs I've talked to say they send you home with trammadol type stuff for pain. To me a major surgery needs major pain relief!
  2. Dr. Ariel Ortiz actually lives in San Diego and just drive the 20 minutes over the border everyday.
  3. I called and talked to my pcp today about the same thing and she said they would have no problem following up with me and they have a lot of bariatric patients so they know what labs to look for and if I had any problems they would be able to refer me out.
  4. Has anyone had their surgery done by Dr. RICHARDS in mobile al?

    Question!?!

Avryv thanks for the encouragement, I'm glad I found this site. It really does make a difference having a support system from others that understand the struggle.

Thank you for all your encouragement!! I sometimes feel like food makes me happy and I get scared that with out it I'll be depressed, but I know it's the complete opposite!

    Question!?!

I'm scheduled to get sleeved in June. I was just wondering if anyone has had problems with transferral of additiction? I've heard of people turning to drugs and alcohol to replace the food. What healthy coping strategies has anyone found to deal with day to day life when the food can no longer be your comfort?
