  1. So what is your pre-op diet like? I see a lot of people doing liquid only. My doctors have me on a modified diet with frozen meal replacements, protein shakes, 1fruit a day and sf jello for 10 days prior.
  2. Wow that would be awful. The doctors sent me a list that allows two frozen meal replacements ( weight watchers or something similar) two protein drinks, a sugar free jello and a fruit a day for my pre-op diet. Don't know if that will change when I have my pre-op appointment on 'May 5th.
  3. Is the liquid diet strictly liquids, no food?
  4. I think for me, sitting thinking about what I can't have will psych me out of making good choices. Like tonight I'm not tired at all. Researching ways of what I can eat and thinking a snack sounds good. I am fighting the impulse as I'm trying to put myself in the mindset that in 20 days I start my pre-op diet of meal replacements like frozen weight watchers, lean cuisine with 1/2 cup veggies in broth, snacks are one piece of fruit, sugar free jello and protein shakes. This week I started small with protein shakes and timed meals. I'm hoping by the time I do my pre-op 10 day diet I will already be acclimated to reduced eating. So it doesn't hit me all at once.
  5. My respiratory doctor confirms my asthma issues and that I'm morbid obese. My sleep study also showed the same where I was borderline in one but also,in REM came out well over 15. For that reason he placed me on one. My C Pap is quiet and I sleep ok except for my asthma issues that wake me with coughing fits. I hope that my weight loss will help all my upper respiratory issues not just sleep apnea.
  6. I am excited to move forward with this process. Yay one month to go! Unbelievable Longroad34 that we both share similar stories on our health. Have you felt any different since your surgery? Is your breathing better? Usually my asthma worsens with cool air and cold/flu viruses. just about September things start to decline for me. I am hoping this will help me tremendously. I still feel my cancer although in remission seems to take longer to recover from things.
  7. I have noticed a lot making replies that they don't like their Protein shakes. I have not had my surgery yet but wanted to be prepared what the shakes taste I like and experiment with them. Although my first purchase, so far I really like the Designer whey Protein Shakes. I have a nutribullet because I like smoothies and frozen drinks. I mixed mine with vanilla Almond milk so it's not too bad. I'm not sure if this will work out so well after surgery. I did however by Isopure which is a protein flavored drinks. Comes in a variety of fruity flavors. Will try them soon.
  8. I am scheduled May 22nd. Trying to prepare everyhing at home and for myself before I go in. I also live about 3 hours away from the hospital. I will have this done on a Thursday but hopefully be home by the weekend if no issues. My kids are 10 & 6 so they will have school to attend. So far I don't know if I will have any other family come except for my husband.
