Trying to understand
LaurieC replied to starspring's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Y'all have spent way too much time on this. -
I shared with all family and coworkers. The support I received from everyone was somewhat overwhelming. I'm glad I shared. I took my health back!!

How much could you eat when starting Soft Foods?
LaurieC replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was about normal for me. I was able to eat a little more as time went on. I am 9 weeks and can eat half a chicken leg with a deviled egg and a couple of slices of a tomato. That fills me up. -
It was on my full liquid diet but I found it too acidic for my sleeve.

Time off work-did you need more or less
LaurieC replied to mochax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I scheduled 3 weeks but after dehydration, UTI, and low potassium I ended up needing 6 weeks to completely recover. Everybody is defiantly different. I would say just wait and see. -
I am 9 weeks and I had my first glass or two of wine yesterday. I had no problems but did get a buzz off two glasses of wine. Be careful and don't drive.

I'm doing much better than I was but still have this pain/uncomfortable feeling when food hits my stomach. Once it is past that entry it is fine. Is this normal and will it get better?

2.5 weeks post op, spend the night in ICU
LaurieC replied to TackleType1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was very sick from my second week until my seventh week. I was nauseous and also had a general ill feeling. I ended up back in ER with dehydration, UTI, and low potassium. I got 3 bags of fluids, antibiotic and potassium in an IV. I felt better but not great. I finally started feeling normal about 7 weeks out. It will get better. I thought I was going to feel like that forever. I am 9 weeks now and feel pretty good, just not 100% energy yet. You will feel better too! -
Absolutely beautiful!

Who is still on full liquids 4.5 weeks out?
LaurieC posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is there anyone still on full liquids 4 . 5 weeks out? When could you finally go to mushy or soft food? -
I am 6 weeks post op and still have a sick feeling, no desire to eat anything. Please tell me others had this and it passes. I can't imagine being like this forever.

I am 4 weeks out. I have this awful cold sweat feeling all the time without the sweat and a continuous sick feeling . It is hard to explain. Does anyone else have this after 4 weeks. Dr put me on anti anxiety meds because she says everything on the inside seemed to be healing we. I'm not throwing up but can't seem to meet my protein and water goals. I'm wondering if this is something that has happened to others.

Why am i feeling this way

My blood sugars are fine. I check them all day. It can't be dumping syndrome because it is 24/7 whether I eat or not. I am still on full liquids because I can't handle anything else. Thanks for the responses. Please pray it gets better. I can't live with this new normal. -
I am now 4 weeks and three days out still nauseous and sick feeling and very faint. Dr says I am not dehydrated but only getting in about 25 oz of liquid a couple of bites of yogurt or cottage cheese and one protein shake. I have no desire to eat or drink. Is there anyone else like this? Is this normal? I'm getting scared.

I check my blood sugar often and it is fine. I thought that might be it too but no. -
I am 3 and a half weeks out and feel nauseous and nothing sits well in my stomach. I am weak and just plain don't feel good. I feel I may be regretting my decision. I can't imagine living like this.

LaurieC posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not felt well, nauseous, feel sick, impending feeling of doom of feeling like this forever. Anybody else suffer this 4 weeks out? -
I am 4 weeks out and can't stomach thinking about food. It makes me sick to think about it. I have a hard time eating. I'm not throwing up anything just nothing sounds or is appealing. Does this feeling pass? Will I like food again.

Please Tell Me It Gets Better
LaurieC replied to LaurieC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Already on Zofran, it is not working. I'm not sure to describe it as nausea or just this constant sick feeling. Have no desire to eat or drink anything.
