I shared with all family and coworkers. The support I received from everyone was somewhat overwhelming. I'm glad I shared. I took my health back!!

How much could you eat when starting Soft Foods?
LaurieC replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was about normal for me. I was able to eat a little more as time went on. I am 9 weeks and can eat half a chicken leg with a deviled egg and a couple of slices of a tomato. That fills me up. -
It was on my full liquid diet but I found it too acidic for my sleeve.

Time off work-did you need more or less
LaurieC replied to mochax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I scheduled 3 weeks but after dehydration, UTI, and low potassium I ended up needing 6 weeks to completely recover. Everybody is defiantly different. I would say just wait and see. -
I am 9 weeks and I had my first glass or two of wine yesterday. I had no problems but did get a buzz off two glasses of wine. Be careful and don't drive.

Pain When Food Hits Stomach
LaurieC replied to LaurieC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks out and eating regular food. -
I'm doing much better than I was but still have this pain/uncomfortable feeling when food hits my stomach. Once it is past that entry it is fine. Is this normal and will it get better?

2.5 weeks post op, spend the night in ICU
LaurieC replied to TackleType1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was very sick from my second week until my seventh week. I was nauseous and also had a general ill feeling. I ended up back in ER with dehydration, UTI, and low potassium. I got 3 bags of fluids, antibiotic and potassium in an IV. I felt better but not great. I finally started feeling normal about 7 weeks out. It will get better. I thought I was going to feel like that forever. I am 9 weeks now and feel pretty good, just not 100% energy yet. You will feel better too! -
Absolutely beautiful!

When Did it get more comfortable eating
LaurieC posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 weeks post op and when I eat I can feel the food hit my stomach and it feels a little twinge of pain and uncomfortable. When does that and weakness get better? -
I am 6 weeks post op and still have a sick feeling, no desire to eat anything. Please tell me others had this and it passes. I can't imagine being like this forever.
