Hello all, I was just curious to know how much everyone can eat after 3 months post op. I had surgery about 3 months ago and I feel like I can definitely eat "more" than before, I dunno if that's normal or not. For example, I could eat only 1 egg, now I can eat 1 egg and 2 chicken sausage links.

10 weeks

I was able to eat 2 eggs and 2 strips of turkey bacon today. I spoke to my nutritionist yesterday, she said I need to eat about 1500 cals and 70 grams of protein a day from real food, not protein shakes.

Really? It doesn't make your coffee thick ?
-
I am not good at eating breakfast. I have coffee and that's about it in the morning. I wait at least another 2 hours after that before I eat something. I think that is my problem, not eating meals.
-
Woosh! Thanks! I thought something wasn't right, haha!

The chicken sausage is about maybe 3 inches long, not very big. They are those Applegate chicken sausages. As far as grams at once, I could eat about 128 grams at once.

Hello all. I just had gastric sleeve surgery about 7 weeks ago. I am noticing I'm hungry a lot. More than usual. When I eat something I don't feel like it's in my stomach and I feel like my stomach is always empty even though I do eat small meals. Has anyone experienced this. Also, I stopped loosing weight.
-
I'll keep that in mind. I am drinking a lot of water. But I really don't think I'm eating enough protein. That's my problem maybe. As far as tracking, I'm using my fitness pal.

I don't think so. Because I can tell you I am at a stall right now. Meaning I haven't been loosing weight for a while. But that's normal, your body is freeking out because you aren't eating a lot of calories anymore, so the metabolism is slow.

Not grazing like small meals at least 6 times during the day. And I had a gastric emptying scan before my surgery to determine how fast my digestive system was.
-
*update* so I spoke to my doctor about what I was experiencing. He told me it was normal. First of all I have a fast digestive system, even before my surgery, and when he did the surgery it's even faster. He said I was like in the 20% of people that have this freakishly fast digestive system. And as far as not loosing weight, it's normal as well. He told me to constantly eat small things throughout the day.

Yeah to be honest I have a habit of eating and drinking at the same time. And I don't think I have been getting my daily protein.
-
I think so, I'm drinking at least one 36 oz bottle a day or sometimes more.

Eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, cold cuts, chicken, fruit.

Hello, all. I had my surgery about 6 weeks ago, on march 9th. I was losing weight fast, then all of a sudden I stopped losing. Is that to be expected or is that not normal?
-
Yes, as much as I can. I do have rheumatoid arthritis so there is a limit on how much I can do. But I try to at least walk a few times a day.

Thanks everyone.

Hello, I was just wondering what can I eat on the phase 3 "soft food" diet. The nutritional manual isn't very informative on what I could eat.
-
Hello all! I am seriously thinking about doing the gastric sleeve surgery. I am 27 years old, 5'1, 224. To matters worse, I have rheumatoid arthritis since I was 2 years old. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this procedure, what they like, what they didnt like. Did they regret anything? and so on. Was there a point where you had to stop any medications. And how has the weight loss affected your arthritis ? I am tired of being obese, I am tired of huffing just because I walked a few feet, and I'm tired of not having energy like I used to. Thanks.

Just to inform everyone, I still did not do the surgery yet, but I may do it march 9th. Can you swallow pills the day after surgery? -
Hello all. I intend to do the gastric sleeve surgery, but I was hoping you all could share your experiences in the long term. Were there any side effects long term? Were there any regrets? Please share, I'm kinda nervouse.

Hello everyone. I am thinking about doing a gastric sleeve surgery and I'm a little nervouse. I have rheumatoid arthritis for 26 years, I'm overweight and have some heart problems. With arthritis there is allot of medicine to take as well as my heart meds and now cholestarol meds. I am worried about not being able to take my meds after surgery. I was hoping someone could give me the good and bad of this surgery.

Thank you all for your replies. It makes me more motivated for the surgery. I know it's a better choice for my health.
